Chapter 14Sid drank the last of the coffee in his cup and studied Thorn. He looked lost. Scared. Sid wanted to gather him in his arms and tell him everything would be all right, but it was an empty promise. “I could call Shade.” Thorn looked at him. “And tell her what?” “Tell her everything.” He trusted Shade. “She might know what to do.” “Would she? Can we afford more people to know?” Sid shook his head. It wasn’t only him anymore. Thorn might have come along, but it wasn’t until now he too was risking his life. “No, but she has contacts.
