Episode 1 The Fall
The sky split open above the city. A burning figure fell through the clouds, surrounded by white fire and black smoke. He crashed onto the roof of an abandoned church, breaking through the old stone tiles. His name was Angelo. Once, he had been a guardian of Heaven—strong, loyal, and proud. But after disobeying a divine command to save a human soul, Angelo was cast out. His wings were burned away, his memories were fractured, and he was condemned to live among mortals. For years, he searched for a way back. That night, Angelo opened his eyes beneath the moonlight. A strange symbol glowed on his chest. Then he heard a woman screaming. Angelo rushed down the church stairs and into the empty street. At the end of the road, a young woman was surrounded by three shadowy creatures. Their bodies twisted like smoke, and their eyes glowed red. “Leave her alone!” Angelo shouted. The creatures turned toward him. The woman stared at Angelo, frightened—but not surprised. “You,” she whispered. Angelo froze. “Do I know you?” One of the creatures attacked. Angelo raised his hand, and a burst of golden light sent it crashing into a wall. The other two creatures vanished into the darkness. The woman fell to her knees. Angelo helped her stand. “Are you hurt?” She looked into his eyes. “You really don’t remember me?” Before he could answer, a bright mark appeared on her wrist. It was the same symbol glowing on Angelo’s chest. “My name is Grace,” she said. “And you and I were never supposed to meet on Earth.” Angelo stepped back. “What does that mean?” Grace looked toward the sky. “It means we were both angels.” A deep rumble shook the ground. The church bells began ringing by themselves. Grace’s face filled with fear. “They know we found each other.” “Who?” “The Watchers,” she replied. “Angels sent to make sure fallen souls never return to Heaven.” A black feather floated down between them. Angelo picked it up. The moment he touched it, memories rushed through his mind. He saw himself standing in Heaven beside Grace. They wore shining armor and enormous white wings. They had fought together, protected human lives, and secretly promised that they would never abandon each other. Then he saw Grace falling from Heaven. She was reaching for him. Angelo had tried to follow her—but someone had torn away his wings. He dropped the feather and fell to one knee. “Grace,” he whispered. She placed a hand on his shoulder. “You remembered.” “Why did we fall?” Grace shook her head. “I don’t know. I woke up on Earth years ago with no memory. But lately, I’ve been seeing visions. Someone wanted us separated.” A sudden voice echoed through the church. “You were separated for a reason.” A tall man stepped from the shadows. He wore a dark coat, and his eyes shone with silver light. Grace grabbed Angelo’s hand. “Run.” The man raised one finger. The doors slammed shut. Angelo pushed Grace behind him. “Who are you?” “My name is Malachai,” the stranger said. “I am a servant of Heaven.” “Then send us back,” Angelo demanded. Malachai smiled coldly. “You cannot return. Not unless you complete the trials.” Grace’s expression changed. “The trials were destroyed.” “No,” Malachai replied. “They were waiting for you.” The church walls began to crack. Symbols appeared across the floor, forming a circle of light around Angelo and Grace. Malachai continued, “Three trials stand between you and Heaven. The Trial of Truth. The Trial of Sacrifice. And the Trial of Faith.” “And if we fail?” Angelo asked. Malachai’s eyes turned completely black. “You will not only remain on Earth. You will become the very creatures hunting you.” The circle beneath Angelo and Grace began to spin. Grace squeezed his hand. “Don’t let go.” “I won’t.” The church disappeared. Angelo and Grace fell into darkness, surrounded by distant voices and flashes of light. They landed in a forest beneath a blood-red moon. A narrow path stretched ahead of them. At the beginning of the path stood a stone gate. Written across it were three words: TRUTH REVEALS ALL. Grace looked at Angelo. “This is the first trial.” Angelo noticed something moving between the trees. A young boy stood alone in the darkness. “Help me,” the boy cried. Grace stepped toward him, but Angelo stopped her. “It could be a trap.” The boy began to cry. “Please. I’m afraid.” Grace looked at Angelo. “We can’t leave him.” The boy suddenly lifted his head. His face changed into that of an old angel with burned wings. “You always were too trusting, Grace.” The forest exploded with shadows. Angelo raised his hands, but his golden light flickered and disappeared. Grace tried to summon her power, but she collapsed in pain. A voice whispered from the trees: “To pass the Trial of Truth, you must remember why you fell.” Angelo looked at Grace. “What aren’t you telling me?” Grace’s eyes filled with tears. “I was the one who opened the gate for you,” she admitted. “I helped you disobey Heaven.” Angelo stared at her. “You told me the soul we were ordered to abandon was innocent,” Grace continued. “I believed you. We saved him together. When Heaven discovered what we had done, I was cast out first.” Angelo remembered everything. The human soul they had saved had been a child. The heavenly order had demanded that they let him die because his death was part of a greater plan. Angelo had refused. Grace had stood beside him. The shadows moved closer. “You lied to me,” Angelo said. “I was afraid you would hate me.” “I could never hate you.” The stone gate began to glow. The shadows screamed and disappeared. A golden doorway opened at the end of the forest. Grace looked at Angelo. “The trial is complete.” Angelo took her hand. But before they could step through the doorway, Malachai appeared behind them. “You passed the first trial,” he said. “But the next one will cost you something you cannot replace.” The golden doorway turned dark. From within it came the sound of wings beating. Angelo and Grace stood side by side as a massive creature emerged from the light. It had six wings, a crown of fire, and a sword made of black flame. Malachai smiled. “Welcome to the Trial of Sacrifice.” The creature raised its sword. Angelo stepped in front of Grace. Grace moved beside him. Together, they faced the darkness. Far above Earth, Heaven watched in silence. And for the first time in centuries, the gates of Heaven began to open.
