I was hoisted up and draped over his shoulder. No matter how much kicking and screaming I did I couldn’t wiggle free. “Screw you Ryder, let me go!” I yelled while thrashing my legs.
I heard a loud slap sound followed by a stinging sensation on my rear making me yelp. “Keep it up if you want more kitten.” His voice still emotionless, I couldn’t understand why he would act like a friend one second then turn into this a next. He carried me up the stairs then to the very end of the hallway. I started to panic, what the hell does he think he’s doing? He opened the door to reveal a very small room with nothing but a bed inside.
“Put me down Ryder!” I yelled and punched his back. Tears streaming down my face, and a knot formed in my stomach. He tossed me on the bed and before I could try to run, he was already on top of me, pinning my arms down. The expression on his face was dark.
"Who did that to you?" He asked without any emotion.
His question confused me, I don't understand what he is talking about. I looked away from him, frankly I don't even want to be in the same state as him right now.
"Who!?" He yelled.
I flinched, unsure of what he is really capable of. I took a quick glance at him, his commanding voice and dark eyes telling me he was getting impatient. I still refused to answer.
"Don't make me get the answer out of you through other means." He threatened. His hand came down on my throat, while the other traced the remains of my ripped shirt.
"I- I don't understand your question."
He chuckled but only for a moment before leaning in and placing a light kiss on my neck. " this scar, who did it?"
Oh, the question finally clicked in my head. Is that what all of this is about? " My mate did it a few weeks back." I said with a slight smile.
"I f*****g knew it!" He yelled baring his fangs at me again. "I'll make sure that bastard can't ever touch you again!"
My eyes widened, "No its a misunderstanding!" He leaned back into my neck but on the opposite side of the scar. I could feel his teeth graze my skin. "No. No please don't!" I tried to struggle but he grabbed my chin and forced my head to the side. I shouldn't have came here. What was I thinking trying to do this without help. I softly whispered his name through my tears. “Matt.”
Ryders low growl rumbled my chest, then a searing pain entered my neck. I screamed and cried for him to let go but he just bit harder and harder. The pain intensifies until my mind goes blank and my vision fades. Marshall’s muffled voice is all I hear before passing out, ‘It’s about time’ He chuckled, ‘finally I’m at peak strength.’

I woke up in the same room I was previously in. I tried to sit up but a sharp pain shot throughout my body.
‘Easy child we must not strain ourselves.’ A female voice spoke out of no where.
‘What the hell?’ I thought ‘did that voice come from my head?’ I sat quietly for a moment and waited for the voice to speak again, but nothing happened. I looked around the room then realized the red stains on the bed. “Oh god.” I whispered. What the hell happened? Flash backs went through my mind, My hand shaking, I reached up to my neck. The outlines of the mark were slightly raised, my fingers trailed along the twists and curves. I flung myself out of the bed, screaming as my body slammed to the floor.
‘You don’t listen very well child, do you?’ The voice spoke again. Her tone is as graceful as the wind.
‘Who are you? What’s happened to me?’ The door burst open, and a panicked looking Ryder came rushing in. “What the hell did you do!? What did you do to me!?” I screamed, while trying to get up, but my body keeps failing me.
‘Relax child, you should be thanking him.’
‘Thank him?…THANK HIM!? I want to kill him! He’s ruined everything!’ After a series of curses and outbursts, I realized something. ‘Oh god, Matt. Everything I planned, everything I had to do, is pointless now! I-I will never be with Matt now.’ Ryder walked over to me and lifted me in his arms. He sat on the bed and cradled me in a soft hug. I can’t struggle or fight him, my body physically won’t allow me the pleasure.
We sat quietly for a while, ‘isn’t he absolutely yummy?’ The voice purred.
A chuckle came from Ryders throat, “at least one of you still like me.” Confused I looked up at him.
“What the hell are you talking about?”
It was his turn to be surprised. “I’m glad your talking to me and not screaming.” He said in a serious tone. “Do you still want to kill me?”
‘No.’ Said the voice very sternly
“Yes.” I replied right back but out loud.
“I fear I may have come at a bad time. I should let you two talk. I’ll see you in a few kitten.” Ryder stood up and laid me back on the bed since my body was pretty much useless at the moment. Then he walked out of the room.
‘Mhmm,’ the voice purred. ‘He calls you kitten, now that’s yummy.’
‘Okay, who the hell are you anyway?’ I questioned. “What is happening to me?” I yelled out loud.
“You’ve been marked.” A familiar voice rang.
“Where have you been? You are the most unhelpful person ya know.” I looked up at the ghostly figure. “You were supposed to help me.” My voice shaking. “You weren’t there when I needed you! Guardian my arse!”
“Blue your mother told me not to interfere.”
I looked him in the eyes, tears streaming down my face. “James…go be with Casey. I don’t need nor want your help.”
“Is that what you want?” He said in a shocked tone.
“Get out of here James, that is an order not a request.”
He paused and just stared at me, at my pathetic useless body and my embarrassing breakdown. “What do I tell your mother and Matt?”
The thought of Matt broke my heart, how can I ever face him again. “I thought I was strong enough…strong enough to do this on my own, but I was wrong. Tell him…tell them I died. Tell them my father killed me in battle.” James started to fade out of my view. “James.” I whispered. “Tell Matt I loved him.” James nodded his head and disappeared.
