Chapter 7 Jace's pov "Wait, you said her wolf is just a pup? She isn't that much smaller than me. How big is she supposed to be?" I said, shocked. We always made fun of her for having a smaller wolf when in actuality her wolf wasn’t that small. Sometimes her wolf was kind of wobbly like a puppy would be, now that I am thinking of it. The old rogue looked at me with a smirk. "Well considering she is supposed to be more powerful than me she will probably be bigger than I am." His voice held some surprise in it. Marcus cut in, "You've been here for a few weeks and you've never shifted. How big is your wolf?" He asked him skeptically. He responded with a shrug of his shoulders. “It would be easier for me to show you all.” He walked a good twenty yards away before he started to take off all his clothes, except his boxers. We could hear his bones snapping and rearranging, my eyes grew wide when I saw how massive his wolf was. My father walked towards him once he had finished shifting. "Oh my goddess! Jace! Our father doesn't even stand up to his chest in human form." Our father was well over six feet tall. "I know Kade, I can see that!" I gently set Jane back down on the ground and walked towards him. All of a sudden a deep voice was in my head. "Young alpha, you need to keep her close to you." I looked up at this pure white wolf in front of me, "I had no idea Jane was this special, how did you just link me? We aren’t part of the same pack." "My wolf says your destinies are intertwined." his voice in my head again. "You’re not going to answer me are you?” I said out loud, his eyes changed, one was black and one was his normal gray color. His wolf's voice was in my head now, “You will eventually learn, you and Jane need to stay close to each other, soon you will find out why.” Now the old man's voice was in my head too. "It is one of the many powers I possess. Now if you'll excuse me, I need to continue gathering firewood." He turned and nonchalantly trotted away as if he wasn't a fifteen foot wolf. I knew Jane and I were drawn to each other, could she be my mate? “It is a possibility, Jace.” Kade said to me. I sighed, I didn’t know how I felt about that. I guess we will find out soon enough. I looked toward my father, "Dad, what do we do now?" He seemed just as shocked as I was. He turned around and slowly made his way back towards Jane. "Well for starters I think getting her to her room would be best. Then we can discuss our next options with Marcus and his pack." he turned to look at Marcus. "Now would be a good time to call in your back ups." He said sternly to him. "I couldn't agree with you more." he said as he picked up Jane. Before he could stand up his eyes glazed over and a smile spread across his face. He looked down at Jane, "well I guess you'll finally get to meet your mother." His voice was soft as he spoke to her. "What?" I was confused. her mother was all the way in California. We are on the edge of Pennsylvania near the mountains. How could he link with her? "My contact just informed me about nearly one hundred wolves heading this way from California. Sara is leading them here. When I was forced out of that pack I had set up a contact system with Sara through other wolves. Now she is on her way here. We need to prepare." I nodded my head and followed him to Jane's room. He gently placed her on the bed then covered her up with a throw blanket, "What do we need to do?" I asked him, I watched him as he gently tucked her in. "Right now the rest of the pack can handle the preparations, we need to think of a plan before he has a chance to attack us." He stood up, turning towards me and motioning towards the door. "Once she wakes up we will inform her of what's happening. Until then let's head to my office, we can start brainstorming as a team." I nodded my head as we both left the room, I turned around and took one last look at Jane before I closed the door. We need to figure this out soon, or we may end up being the prey. Rick's pov The room was filled with moans from Sylvia as I took her on my bed. "Yes alpha! Just like that!" She was never as good as Sara, but I could go take what I needed from her later. I was nearing my end when a searing pain shot through my head. "Ahh! What the hell!" I backed away and put my head in my hands. "Alpha! There's dozens of wolves leaving the territory!" Quinton my Betas voice was in my head. "No s**t! I can feel that Quinton, I want to know why and how! Where are the border patrols?" I shot back at him. "I'm not sure yet alpha, Jerome isn't responding, I am heading that way now!" "Well you finally f****d up just like I said you would." Vince’s voice rang through my head making it hurt worse. "Shut up Vince!" I growled at him. "No, I will always be that nagging voice in your head." Then he put a block up. Stupid mutt. How did I get stuck with a halfwit for a wolf? "What's wrong, my love?" Sylvia walked towards me, worry evident on her face, she began to massage small circles onto my back. "Multiple wolves leaving the pack." I said to her as she looked confused. "What would cause enough wolves to leave to have that much of an effect on you?" Her voice was filled with confusion. “There were dozens of wolves all leaving at one time.” She gave me a look and the weight of what could have happened hit me like a ton of bricks. It couldn't be, she wasn’t that stupid was she? I ran to Sara's room Sylvia right on my tail. I shoved through the door praying to see her beautiful face, but she wasn't there. "Damn it!" I ran to the window and jumped, shifting mid air. "Quinton! One of them was Luna! Get there now!" I linked him, my paws hitting the ground hard. "Yes Alpha!" He responded quickly. I followed Sara's scent all the way to the border. The border was left unattended on the entire East side. What the actual hell is going on right now? I heard chuckles in my head. "You do know they probably pledged their allegiance to her, right? He laughed at me hysterically. "f**k off Vince!" The anger I felt continued to grow to rage. Quinton ran up from the Northern side of the border, "Alpha, a portion of the northern border and southern border are also unguarded." "Get the trackers out here, it's time to go hunting." I threw my head back and let out an almighty howl of war. I'm coming for you Sara, and our daughter too, her power will be mine even if it means I have to kill you. Sara's pov We were nearing the creak roughly five miles off the border when we heard a dark menacing howl. "Everyone head to the creak and go in, once in head north we need to cover our scent and make it less noticeable!" I shouted through the link. "Yes Luna!" I heard chants back in the link. We need to make it harder for them, fear slowly started to creep it’s way into my body. "Luna, we are close to the rogue's hut. We could let Marcus know we are on the way." Jerome said. "It's too risky! Stay as a group." I didn't want anything to happen to Jerome, through everything he was the one who helped me stay in touch with Marcus. "Luna, with all do respect they need to know. We could end up leading Rick right to them." I knew he was right, I just didn’t want to end up sending wolves into danger. If Rick found them they would be outnumbered. "Ugh, fine! Three of you go to the hut and keep going from there." I conceded. “Watch your backs, we don’t know how far out those wolves are.” "Yes Luna!" He said, “Alex, Grady, one mile up the creek break east and follow me." We continued up the creek Jerome, Alex and Grady broke off a while ago. "Everyone break east and stick together!" I knew they would be searching for us by now, hopefully we were in the creek long enough. We have been running for a while. I could hear some huffing behind me and the sun was starting to set. I knew we needed to stop soon, I just wasn’t sure if we had gone far enough yet. "Luna, what do we do? The children are getting hungry." We have been traveling for the majority of the day. The creek slowed us down but would mask our scent. "I need five wolves that are fast to run ahead thirty miles and make a camp. I need another five that are decent hunters to start hunting and meet us there." I saw five wolves head east past us and another five break off going north east. I turned around to look at the others who were following me. “Wonderful it’s mainly women and children with about twenty men. Thankfully most women are trained until they find their mate and become pregnant.” Riley said annoyed. “Hey, don’t be getting annoyed. You’re the one who told us to get the hell out of there.” I growled at her. “Yeah I did, I didn’t intend for us to take a small chunk of the pack with us though!” She snapped back at me. “What did you want me to do? They pledged their allegiance to us, they made their choice. Now shut your mouth and start acting like an alpha female!” I yelled at her. She growled but remained silent. I felt bad yelling at her but this was not the time to be getting on each other's bad side. I would make it up to her later. We have made it probably close to eight hundred miles in one day, I looked around and everyone was tired. By this time tomorrow we should be there. As we neared the thirty mile mark I could see a bonfire and a few dead deer and some squirrels next to it. I sighed in relief, we could finally get these people food. "Thank goodness! We can get everyone fed and let them rest for a few hours before we go." Riley said, I could still hear her annoyance in my head. "Exactly my thought Riley." I opened up the link, "ten of you start preparing the squirrels for the kids, ten start on the rest for everyone else. I need fifteen wolves to be on guard duty, the other fifteen that will take over guard duty get some food, eat then sleep for a rotation in two hours!" "Yes Luna!" they all chanted back and everyone hurried to busy themselves. I saw a young pup, I knew he would be tired. He only shifted last week for the first time. I found a pile of shorts and picked one up then walked over to him and dropped them in front of him. He picked them up and ran behind a tree, I laid down on the ground and he sat down next to me. “Luna, can I ask you something?” He said in our link. I nodded my head for him to continue. “Is it true the Alpha was mean to you? Why would he be mean to his mate?” I gave him a wolfish grin. “It is true, I don’t know why he was so cruel to me, but you should get some food and rest, we won’t be here for very long.” He nodded to me and stood up. He froze before he walked back towards me, he rubbed his hand through the fur on my face, “I will never do that to my mate.” He leaned forward and hugged me around the neck before he took off towards the fire and food. I smiled at him, I knew he would be a wonderful mate one day. I stood up and made my way to the fire as well. "We will rest for four hours then we have to move again. We cannot stay put for too long, we aren’t safe until we get into Marcus’ territory." I walked behind a tree and put on a big baggy t-shirt I had grabbed out of the pile. I walked back to the bonfire to help everyone who was cooking and feeding the kids. Please, dear goddess, protect and help us get there safely. I silently prayed as I helped skin one of the deer. Rick's pov "Quinton! Are the trackers ready yet? It’s been three hours since they left." My patience was wearing thin, they could easily be a couple hundred miles out by now. "We will be there in one minute, Alpha." Quinton said back into the link. I could tell he was trying really hard not to say something that would upset me. Vince is getting antsy not knowing what his mate is doing. "Hurry up, we need to try and catch them." I closed the link not waiting for a response. Once I get my hands on Sara she will wish she had never been born. "You know she already wishes that, and it's all because of you! Do you have any idea how many miscarriages she had because of you forcing the doctor to give her wolfsbane?" I could hear the pain in Vinces voice. Ugh, he is such a sappy dog. "I don't care, I only care about the one that will make us the most powerful Alpha to ever exist." "You are the worst Alpha out there! You beat and rape your mate, force her to have twenty-five miscarriages because you can't control your urges around her. For what? huh! Power that you're running out of time to get? Jane will be 18 this week. I hope she finds her mate before you find her!" After that he forced the link closed, dang mutt always throwing fits. He will thank me when this is all over and we have all the packs under our control. I could hear the sounds of paws hitting the hard ground behind me. I turned to look at them all in their wolf forms. "Your Luna has been taken; we don't know why, but nearly one hundred pack members have turned against us and taken her. They are no longer part of our pack. We are to go and find them and bring our Luna back home." I used my alpha tone so they couldn't defy my orders. They didn't need to know the real reason she's gone. "Yes Alpha!" With that we took to the woods following the scent of my Luna, a hundred wolves running away with children shouldn’t be that hard to find. . "Quinton, I need you to stay back and watch over the pack." I growled at him, he is my beta but I don’t entirely trust him. "Yes Alpha!" He said and his brown wolf turned around and headed back towards the pack borders. I followed after the trackers as we headed east. "Alpha, the way we are heading is towards the creek. We may lose the scent if they had gone in." One of my trackers said. I was growing impatient, "I know! Just keep trying! We will determine what to do when the time comes!" I growled. Shortly after that we came to the creek; just as we feared the scent came to a halt. I started pacing back and forth in pure rage. "Alpha, what do you want to do?" The other tracker asked hesitantly. "Split into three groups. One group goes north, one south, and one east. I am heading back to the pack. I am going to look over some maps." I growled again, I have a hunch I know where they are headed. "Yes Alpha!" They said and quickly split off heading in different directions while I turned around to go back to the pack. Once I got back I moved to the edge of the forest and shifted. I grabbed a set of clothes and threw them on and marched to my office. "Sylvia!" I yelled as I neared my office. "Yes my love?" She had that look in her eye that was hard for me to look away from. "Did you find them?" I asked her harshley. "No, but I bet I know where she is going. Is there any way she could have also got the location during the spell?” I asked her. "It's quite possible, especially with the spell I had to use. I had to find the link she had with her daughter and force it open. Once in she needed to use it to transport us there in a sense. That's how I was able to get her location. Then by using another spell I was able to pinpoint her exact location on the map." She explained. "Then I can call off the trackers, I know where they are taking her. I will tell them that Jerome was the one behind the Lunas kidnapping and we found this in his room." Vince was trying to push forward and take control but I pushed him down. "I won't let you do this!" Vince was shouting in my head. "Too bad mutt! It's happening whether you like it or not." I growled at him. I grabbed Sylvia's hand, "Come Sylvia we have a plane to catch!" Sylvia's pov I watched Rick jump out the window to go after his mate. I only have to do this for a few more days! Him touching me makes my skin crawl! I need to go give an update to my coven elders. I walked to my room and changed into faded blue jeans and a skin tight black t-shirt. I let my brown hair drop in waves down my back and shoulders. I made my way to the southern border. Once there I could see the three elders already waiting on the opposite side. "Sylvia! What news do you bring?" One of them asked casually. "I have the location of the white wolf, she is near Pennsylvania not too far from the mountains. I used the location spell and used Sara as the totem." "She survived? How? No living creature has survived as the totem for the spell before." One of the elders, Joruka, said surprised. "I am not sure but she was able to rip the silver chains right off of her. She escaped while I was doing the map." I told them, my stomach turned knowing what I was actually doing while she escaped. "Sylvia, we need that wolf! Only she can protect the coven. She will be a very powerful wolf, she is the one in the prophecy. She will join our worlds into one and will be the Great Queen of our lands." Jonah said as he smiled. "It is foretold that she will have multiple guardians, a wolf, a witch, a vampire, and a human. She will find them over time. Does Rick still believe you to be on his side?" Benjamin asked. "For now, yes, I can't wait to see the look on his face when I kill him." The thought of his death brought nothing but joy to my soul. "You cannot kill him. Remember he is still under the influence of the old curse. If they can take the pack from him the curse will be broken.” Jonah reminded me, I sighed and rolled my eyes. I knew he was right but it doesn’t make me feel any better. Especially knowing what happened to my mate. "You know what he has planned, we need to make sure he does not get his hands on her. We checked the protective barrier around Marcus' pack and it is still holding strong. Sara should reach there by sunset tomorrow. We will bring the barriers down the day after tomorrow at noon. That will grant Rick and the other pack members access." I nodded my head in understanding. "What about those that left? Will they allow them through?" I asked. "Yes, they are technically rogues now so the barriers will not keep them out. The barrier was put up to keep out this pack and anyone who pledges allegiance to Rick." "Yes elders, I will not disappoint you!" I quickly hurried back to the pack house and up to my room. It wasn't long after I returned that Rick's voice was echoing through my ears. "Sylvia!" I can't wait to not be dictated around by him anymore! I quickly ran to him. "Yes my love? Did you find them?" I gave him a lustful look, the one that always makes him melt into my hands. "No, but I bet I know where she is going. Is there any way she could have also got the location during the spell also?" I could feel how annoyed he was. "It's quite possible, especially with the spell I had to use. I had to find the link she had with her daughter and force it open. Once in she needed to use it to transport us there in a sense. That's how I was able to get her location. Then by using another spell I was able to pinpoint her exact location on the map." I had no idea she would survive but it worked to our advantage as I could track her and he would never need to know. I will need back up once there though. "Then I can call off the trackers, I know where they are taking her. I will tell them that Jerome was the one behind the Luna's kidnapping." He suddenly grabbed my hand and yanked me behind him, "Come Sylvia we have a plane to catch!" "Wait! Don't call off your trackers! The pack will think something is up if you have them stop searching for the Luna!" I quickly told him, I still needed him to think I was all for killing his daughter. "You're absolutely right!" I could see the gears turning in his head. "I should send most of the warriors to that location!" Ding! Ding! Ding! That is exactly what I wanted him to do! He has no idea what he's walking into, but I do! "My love! That is brilliant! She won't know what hit her!" I smiled internally knowing the plan we have worked so hard for is finally falling into place. "We can prepare and leave at first light." He looked at me with the look I hated, "That is a wonderful idea, gives us time to celebrate early!" He quickly left the room to inform his pack. Things are going according to plan, one more day of this then I will finally be free of this damn monster. He quickly returned and wrapped his arms around my waist and began to kiss my neck. I swallowed the lump in my throat and turned around in his arms so we were face to face. “Let’s go celebrate.” I said in the most sexy voice I could muster. Just a few more days, just a few more days. I chanted to myself.
