MAIDEN'S GLOSS CITY
December 1
10:27 pm
Here I am on pursuit,
Chasing that man in suit;
I want to know who's the boss,
Hoping my fate and his may cross.
Ah, poetry.
That stanza is decent, that's for sure.
Anyway, what I'm doing right now is exactly what the poem I constructed tells.
I'm tailing that guy who fled first. He's heading to a place I don't know (I'm not a local here so that's a given). All that I know that he's going straight to a place similar to all men of culture…
The red light district...
The reason he didn't caught me tailing him is because I'm atop of the building gliding on the roofs. He on the other hand is sprinting so fast like his life depends on it. Why so desperate? Well, even his face says it literally.
He finally run through an alley and the next thing I know, he disappeared without a trace.
—or so what any ordinary people would see. The thing is, that guy passed through a mystical barrier with properties that includes [Camouflage], [Resistance Nullification], and many more properties that doesn't concern me. But I'll admit that whoever created this barrier is a decent Mantle user.
But this isn't on par with someone who has the Fallen Blood Crystal in his or her possession.
There are few hours left until my birthday. I don't want my day to be spent on infiltration but…
Oh well, I better do it now.

Under the camouflaged facility in the red light district are several prison cells in which several prisoned men and women were restrained. Their ragged clothes are smeared by blood coming from the wounds they received from being whipped. However, they don't have the liberty to fight against it, since they're under the influence of drugs. This drug in question is strong enough to knock someone's sanity out of a person. Worse, these people are subject to be sold in the black market -- either by being sold as slaves or they'll be butchered and have their parts like kidneys and heart sold.
Among them however was able to negate the properties of the drugs thanks to his [Immunity]. His name is Travis Rigid, a 13-year old slender individual. He possessed slit orange eyes and slick orange hair. He's more intriguing thanks to his background. He's was born from a human male and a glitch female, an elf. He has the looks of a regular person so it's hard to tell that this guy is a half-glitch.
He was on an adventure and ended up being imprisoned here. Born in another continent, he didn't expect this dark side of humanity, since his place is peaceful and the people within it are honest. Even though his father warned him he neglected his father's advice.
"I'm sorry father. If only I listened to your words."
"Hmm…? Listen to whom now? It's a surprise to see someone not having the same conditions as the others."
He gasped.
He made a huge blunder.
Throughout the months he's been here he acted like he's under the influence of the drug. And as long as he won't resist during the drug implant session he won't get harmed. But now, someone finally caught him by surprise.
Since he's leaning against the railings, he isn't able to see who the one who saw him just now is. Judging from the voice, it must be a female.
"P-please spare me…"
"What are you talking about—I'm not going to do anything to you though?"
"Huh? What are you implying?"
When he turned to see who's the one speaking, he saw an unfamiliar black-haired, silver-eyed lady wearing a lab coat with black pair of clothes underneath, a pair of peculiar gloves and shoes.
"W-who are you? You're a new face here…"
"I'm not a worker here."
"Why are you able to resist the—"
"Ugh, too many questions you have there! Shush! Listen up kiddo… For now, I need you to get away from here after I finish my business in here. You better flee and er...nevermind. Here's the master key."
The lady dropped a bronze key in front of Travis. During his stay here in the prison, he knows the appearance of the master key and the key that's in front of him now is identical to it.
"Use that to free the other prisoners, if it's okay with you. About your fellow prisoner, I know that they're under the influence of drugs so use this medicine to get rid of it or at least alleviate it if not rid totally."
A small bottle appeared out of nowhere and the lady throws it towards Travis to catch.
The lady immediately started to go to the upper floor when Travis asked her to stop.
"What is it?"
"Uhmm… May I know your name?"
"I'll tell ya after this. Bye-bye!"
And just like that, the lady immediately went to the upper floor.
"Lab coat lady…thank you."

DARK MARKET, Maiden's Gloss City
10:53 pm
Uh, this place is worse than I thought.
It even has a creepy basement with tons of imprisoned individuals. I even saw a LOT of preserved internal organs stored in a fridge (dinner...? Hope not). This isn't your ordinary den. I need to stop this and for that to happen, I need to find that supreme boss of theirs. Also, this very same individual may have a Fallen Blood Crystal implanted on his or her body like the rest of those Fallen villains.
Oh well, I started this mission as infiltration but I guess I need to destroy this place with a bang— I mean garner some attention from the workers here for everyone to escape, so for that to happen...
"90 percent capacity: Focus— Huh?"
But before I could release my attack, a dark blue fog started to accumulate and consumed my gloves.
"Eh, wha-? What's happening?"
Well, I thought that my gloves are eaten away but it gained an upgrade(?).
The new appearance of my Tech Gloves is more on night mode. It has dark blue color, with my 'batteries' for it gone and was replaced by a glowing circle found at the back of my hand. The usual blaster on my palm is gone. Now, it just looks like some thin cosplay-like fingerless gloves.
I find it troubling as of why it happened when I'm infiltrating an enemy base. But I think I know what has caused my gloves to change.
DEATH'S TECH GLOVES [authority: LV? INT? (data unavailable)]
- Death Gloves + Tech Gloves
- A set of sinister gloves that regulates [Telekinesis] and [Gravity] skills.
Owner: Rylai Lux Rank: data unavailable
Telekinesis – ability to manipulate objects (except the Death's Scythe) at will
Gravity – ability that allows the user to create artificial gravity
Yep. The culprit of this sudden change of equipment is no other than my own Mantle, [Death]. But I thought the effect only affects my body and not my stuff? Also, the purpose is 'regulating' the skills mentioned and not granting access to it.
So I have those abilities already?
Ugh, I may have too many questions to ask for that fellow mimicking me, but I don't have time to spare!
And the biggest problem is…
"Er…how should I use these gloves?"
Oh well, I'll just do what I can.
