Soul Read (Part Two)

"Skill [Soul Read] activated." "Huh?" In an instance Rylai Lux, a high school student and an everyday mob character (or so most of them thought), is confused of why she's hearing and seeing things that aren't really there. Multiple waves of information came to her mind and made her head hurt like hell. She holds on the railing, since she's at the side part of the platform, to stop her from falling to her knees. She covered her face with her free hand and is trembling. Kevin, her classmate, saw her anxiousness up close and asked her as of why she's in such a situation right now. Above all else however his objective to have Rylai enlisted on his harem list stands above all his reasoning to help a lady seeking for help; a motivation which is really toxic in nature. "A-are you alright my lady?" Kevin, the oh-so handsome boy reaches out his hands to Rylai. "!?" Rylai, upon hearing his words, flinched and came back to her senses. She gazed at Kevin's face and muttered something. "So that how it is", Rylai mumbled in a low voice. "Hmm, did you say something my lady?" said Kevin with his head tilted a bit to the side. Rylai didn't respond. "My la--" Kevin flinched for a moment as he saw the sudden change of Rylai's eye color. "Silver…?" Kevin blurted it out of pure shock. He heard rumors about individuals with silver eyes. According to it, silver eyed individuals have their track records as the ones reigning supreme in terms of power. So it's really surprising for him to see someone having such eyes up close. ••• The platform already came to the destined location, the bunker. The bunker is dome shaped; as one could see outside, its interior is bright as if the sun's ray came through. Inside, one can see that the bunkers they know in history books is way too puny compared to this – this bunker is like an underground city; complete with the necessary needs of a person. Of course, food and services must be paid. As of how, no one knows for sure; there are rumors stating that a new system will be established in the bunker. Rylai and the other students walked towards their respected living quarters. She stopped in front of a unit with the door labeled "Q15-003300", the same card number of hers. Rylai took out her ID and inserted it in a slot she found near the door knob. She opened her temporary unit and observed that this slightly bigger than her room in the lodge. It has three rooms; a kitchen, bathroom and of course the main room that looks like bedroom and living room combined. "So, I'll be living here for a while huh", Rylai said it with a sigh. As of why the living quarter existed in the first place; there was once a time when a Glitch posed a huge threat to the civilians for a long period of time. The government took this course of action – creating an underground living quarters for civilians to be safe and sound. This is also done due to the fact that civilians usually hinder the Glints to take the proper course of action; with them dwelling in a safe haven like this, the Glints can exert the full extent of their power. Rylai, who is still confused about herself, looks at the mirror and saw what Kevin meant. Her eyes really turned silver-colored. She also noticed that her tanned skin is now a bit lighter. "Ah… so far, these are the changes being brought about by that dormant power of mine being awakened. At the least, my looks didn't become hideous. My face is simple as it's always been. It's better than having some weird physical mutations", she said while still gazing at the image of herself reflected by the mirror. "Now then, this skill, [Soul Read], it's really an annoying skill. Even now, my head is still inputted with information of a person or an object I see. Thanks to my resistance against headaches since I get this every now and then, I'm able to endure the pain", she added while putting her right hand to her head, as if she's patting herself. "What to do now…" While she's thinking of polishing her skill to the point that it would only give access to what she wants to peek to, someone knocked on her door lightly. Rylai then heard a familiar voice. "Rylai, are you in there? We need to group up at once. I'm going to give some instruction to all of you." It's the voice of their homeroom teacher, Mr. Mega. Mr. Nix Mega is a seemingly body fitted man with a good body posture and has hallowed eyes. His red hair length is enough to touch his shoulder. He often wears a suit in a delinquent fashion. "Ah, okay teacher, I'll follow suit", Rylai replied. "Okay then. Let's meet later then", the teacher walks to his other student's living quarters to notify them. As her teacher walks away, her now silver eyes glowed and gave her the Goosebumps. "W-what is this…? A vision...of a m******e…?" Rylai stuttered as she saw a vision of sorts about a scenario that can make glints a run for their money, as they're mercilessly slaughtered one-sidedly. ••• Meanwhile, in Platinum City, the place next to the city Rylai is in… "Curse this--!" A person is running away while shooting behind. His other colleagues, who were also running desperately, were wounded. Most of his team got their life put to an end by the glitch that recently appeared. "Of all creatures in the Greek myth, why is it that this one appeared!?" Behind them, the creature screeched loud enough to shaken one's soul as it chased the glints and killed the one shooting at the rear. "Gerald!" "Stop it Sven! We can't save him! Let's not put his sacrifice in vain and just run as fast as you could!" the other one exclaimed as he pants heavily from running. Their objective as of now…is to survive.
