“So, what’s up, Rylai?”
“Mmm? What are you saying, Reme?”
I turned my back to see Reme holding a bucket of ice cream in his hands. I’ve known him for being someone who loves sweets and it seems that he’s still into it. I could only chuckle, and Reme turned a little red.
“W-what are you laughing about? Are you thinking that I’m childish for being a fanatic of ice cream?”
“I didn’t say anything. It’s you that’s saying it.”
“Urk!”
Reme puts the bucket on the table beside me and leans on the bars of the ship. I stared at him and saw him looking aimlessly at the open sea. I wonder what’s on his mind right now?
“Hey, Rylai”, he called while still staring at the sea.
“Yes?”
“What will be your next move?”
“What are you referring to?”
“Are you going to find the secrets of the Fallen Blood Crystal? For years, I’m with the doctor and helped him with his ventures and discoveries. Based on my experience, some facts are better to be unknown than to be exploited.”
Reme told me before when we’re still in Maiden’s Shroud City. It was the night of the day we held the awarding ceremony of sorts or whatever it is called.
I stepped outside the castle during that time to get some fresh air when I saw Reme, Sven, and Wenn heading out as well. I smiled and waved at them and that’s only the moment that they noticed that they’re coming out at the same time.
Reme and Wenn even reacted at each other as soon as their eyes met.
Geez…I’m starting to think that they’re water and oil.
“Oh. It’s nice for you three to come here. I’m starting to get lonely, you know.”
“I just thought I could loosen up a bit from the pressure coming from the people’s stares”, Sven said while carrying a plate full of food. “Too bad the two brothers immediately went home.”
Yes. It is quite unfortunate that they were summoned to their home. It’s urgent, and just as they received the award, they went straight right home. Of course, I can’t just tell them to stay and savor the leisure moment we have now.
“So, Rylai. What’s your next course of action?” Sven said as he sat beside me.
The other two are busy arguing against the other and slowly but surely, I’m seeing them as something more than being friends. It’s just my speculation though.
“I’ll go and read something about the Glitches that were still in the world, and are living. I’ve heard that the library in Knuckle City is next to none when it comes to topics like that. Unlike AGA, which loves to hide something from the public to avoid panic, the group I’m in loves to see the leaders saw that figure as the epitome of what to deal with—”
Before I could finished my little backtracking, I was snapped back to reality when I noticed that Reme cuts through a huge tentacle.
"Please don't tell me..."
I stared at the gigantic creature that's just below our ship.
It's a Kraken.
