“Ngh… It’s already morning. Yawn.”

I stood up and got myself dressed. I can’t just stroll around with my pajamas on. Well, I’m not going for a stroll this early though. I just wake up and check if my Tech Gloves could be removed from my inventory. Also, I’m still confused as to why my G-watch merged with my Mantle.

I closed my eyes and tried to feel everything within me.

I wonder if I could talk with Alter once more? It’s been a while since I’ve talked with her, and I need to have my questions answered, or else I’ll be the same clueless Rylai Lux.

Sigh…to think I made it this far.

That fateful day sure brings me more pain than joy.

“There! Found it. Tech Gloves.”

My Tech Gloves appeared from my hands, unequipped. I successfully removed it! Er, I did try removing it manually while it was being equipped but it won’t budge.

This is nice. Now I could tinker it—wait. This is quite unfortunate. Yeah, I don’t think I could tinker with it anymore.

It seems that my Tech Gloves is now an exclusive item of my Mantle (it even got an extra word and a punctuation mark in its name). Does that mean my Tech Boots, which was also can’t be removed when equipped the same? Let’s take a look.

I hate the inconsistency of my stats and my Mantle’s changes brought to my body is weird. I’ve never heard of any other Mantle that acts this way. Ugh, I’ll just embrace the changes, but please be permanent soon, if not immediately.

I grabbed my items and put them back in my inventory. Well, I did say inventory but it only merges with me, specifically to my Mantle. I could even replicate whatever my G-watch could do—I just realized that the 3D mapping function was slapped and added to my [Soul Read] as a projected screen of sorts.

Am I becoming more of a cyborg now?

If possible, I’ll minimize thinking about this, it brings pain in my head whenever I try to learn about the annoying changes happening throughout my life after my Mantle starts evolving, and it even merges with me now since I couldn’t see it in my stats labeled as “Mantle”. Instead, what I got is a title, which is “Death Vessel”.

Well, there’s this stupid argument about whether people should call it sun or star but the sun is a star, and a star is just a distant sun. That debate is nonsensical in every angle, and I could question if humanity really progressed or did it progressed but reversed?

Castin that aside, I stood by the window and saw the nice scenery of the beach. It’s sunny, and the water glitters with the light. Since it’s been a while since I enjoyed a relaxing moment, we stopped by for days in the Port of Kirmish. It’s a port south of Knuckle City, our next destination.

I changed to my usual outfit, a lab coat with a pair of black clothes underneath. The three might’ve been asleep, so I went on my way to write them a note and placed it on the top of the table. I could no longer message them thanks to my G-watch being absorbed. The communication function of it was converted to something similar to Telepathy the last time I checked.

Yes, my stats data is still settling, and the skills I saw before during the incident in Maiden’s Shroud City are lacking.

This scene reminds me of Blue Town. The public market is as crowded as ever even this early. I purchased some meat skewers nearby and was about to eat them when I saw something that catches my attention in an instant.
