CHAPTER 12. (LILY'S POV)

I can't believe that happened again I need to stop this I really need to protect my daughter I can't let her get hurt because of my choice to let him in and her get attached to cole and have him disappear from her life and her get hurt I won't allow it so when cole asked me out all I could do was run to my room and hide there and now he is at my door and begging me to let him in and I can't do that I start to have a panic attack and I can't breathe and I know I need someone here to help me and my best friend is out with her boyfriend and my daughter so all I have is cole so I stumble to the door and unlock it and step away and he comes in and sees I am having trouble breathing so he grabs me and pulls me in and hugs me and won't let go and my breathing goes back to normal and I feel so safe I haven't felt safe in so long that I just give in and let him hold me to him and I start to get sleepy and that is when I go to pull away and just as I do that we here the door open and he let's go and walks out my door after he gives me a kiss on my cheek and I watched him go to his room as I saw Amber walking in with a sound asleep Katie in her arms and she laid Katie down and said that she and her andrew were tired and going to head to bed so we said good night and I shut my door and got Katie in her pjs and put her to bed and I got in my own pjs and lay down next to her and stared at the ceiling and thought about what cole said and then I look at Katie and I wonder what would it be like if he is telling the truth about wanting to be a family with us and with that I fell asleep.

( Lily's pov next day)

In the morning I wake up to Katie setting on my stomach and all she can do is smile at me. Katie: good morning mommy. Lily: good morning babygirl I reply to her as I set up and hug her last night I made a decision on what to do with cole and so I am going to take Katie out just me and her so we can talk about it so I know that she will be ok with this so I send a quick message to Amber to let her know that I am taking Katie out for breakfast and I get us ready for the day. (later at the diner lily's pov)

so me and Katie are setting at the diner we are waiting for our food my phone dings and I look and find a text from cole asking me where me and Katie are and I tell him that we are out for breakfast and I would talk to him when we got home lily:so there is something I want to talk to you about. Katie :what is it mom? lily :I cole asked me out and I was wondering what you think about it. I said straight to the point because she is smarter than she looks Katie gets all excited and said Katie: that is awesome mom I hope you said yes lily: I haven't given him an answer yet because I wanted to talk to you first because I always want to make sure you are happy and safe babygirl. she shook her head up and down and our food came and we ate and talked some more about me and cole being a couple and she seems so happy that I am going to think about being with cole.
