Chapter 8 : Lies

957 Words
Should I tell him the truth? Or should I just twisted and made up the story to make it believable? I was honestly very good with lying. I couldn't just straight up and told him, a stranger the truth even though I kinda 'like' him for now. And I had a feeling that he could easily spot my lies. It was not safe, Myra. He could be anyone right now and don't trust him. Hold on, why am I thinking so hard on this?! "I am indeed her mother." Xavier stayed silent for a few seconds after he heard my answer. "Oh." That was it? Just a simple 'oh'? I suddenly shivered. His deep and husky simple 'oh' sent chills down my spine. Wait a minute, did I have an obsession for men with deep voice? "Why do you ask? Is there a problem?" I decided to say something first, just to get out of the awkward situation. "Nothing, just curious." He smiled. The air and tension suddenly became thick that even you could cut the tension with a knife. Neither of us wanted to break the silence. I was actually stunned when he did a complete 180 right after he asked the question. He was completely different. No kidding. Why was he asking me this question? Why did he look rather disappointed when I gave him my answer? I was confused. * * * * * * * * * * * "Once again, please look after my daughter. And thank you for treating me today." I nodded at him as a sign of appreciation. He smiled a little before he walked out from the café without looking back. Ouch. What the heck just happened there? Why the f**k did he looked so disappointed with the answer that I gave him? Ugh. This was so frustrating. 'Men'. I thought to myself as I rolled my eyes. * * * * * * * * * * * "5 millions. Give it back to me. Now." I was getting super annoyed now. That was my last warning. Hobi kneeled in front of me, with a blank and emotionless face. Huh... "Hobi." I called his name. Something was off about him today. Really off. I looked at Jake and gave him a little nod as a sign. Jake c****d an eyebrow and immediately made his way behind Hobi, aware of my suspicion. "Tell me, Hobi. Do you really wish to die? Right here right now?" He stayed silent. He was still looking down on the floor. Okay. Now I was getting really angry. "You're wasting my f*****g time, Hobi. I believe I already told you that I do not like to repeat myself." I tapped my foot impatiently as my patience was getting thinner. "Fuck." He softly cursed under his breath, but still loud enough for me to hear it. "Today is your lucky day. Liam is not here to punish you. He will just shoot you and let you die anyway. What a shame. He could have at least let you suffer for a bit. Liam doesn't like to waste his time, unfortunately." I sighed as I patted Hobi's head. "Don't worry. I will let you taste a slow and painful..." BANG! BANG! Everything happened so fast. "Shit." Jake cursed. Hobi clutched his b****y stomach as Jake lowered his g*n. CLANG! A smile knife fell off from Hobi's hand. I knew it. My gut was right. He was actually trying to kill me. He was trying to stab me before Jake shot him. My guess was that he found another mafias to help him, that was why he was getting bolder. "Oh my, Hobi. Did you just f*****g tried to stab me?" "I did." He looked at me right in the eyes. All I can see was hatred. Huh, funny how I even gave him a chance. "Why?" I gripped his hair, hard. Forcing him to keep talking. "I've found someone else who can save my daughter. Someone powerful." I bit my lips, hard. The Barzini. Damn it! "Just kill me already." He murmured under his breath. "Oh no. I won't let you die just like that. You tried to stab me. You completely broke my trust. You f*****g betrayed me and your family. Your f*****g family, you ungrateful piece of shit." I growled. "Jake." "Yes?" "Tell Lylia to prepare the 'room'." I barked out an order, harsh. Hobi's eyes widened when I mentioned the 'room'. "No no." He shook his head. "Go, Jake. Now." I narrowed my eyes before Jake left to inform Lylia. "I gave you many chances, Hobi. Lylia will be the one who take care of you. Farewell, Hobi. I'll make sure your daughter is safe and sound." I emphasized on the safe and sound. "The Barzini already looked after her! You couldn't get past them even if you tried." He yelled. "Try me." I grinned as the others forcefully dragged him to the room. "Scar knows your secret already! Just hand her over and give up, Myra Winter. Elena won't be so safe anymore!" I tensed when he mentioned Elena. "You snake! You sold us out! f**k!!" I took out my g*n and shot him on his right leg this time out of anger. "s**t!!" He screamed. "I'll inform Lylia to make your punishment hurt like b***h. Make it harder and painful." I spat all those warning to him. "Scar will be here anytime soon to take her! Just you f*****g wait!" He said that before he disappeared behind the door. "I'll make sure to keep my eyes open then." I muttered under my breath. "f**k!!" I threw my g*n and kicked the chair that was in behind me. "f**k YOU, HOBI."
