Prologue
My body trembled. I stepped back when he pushed the door with so much force. My tears flowed as I saw him darkly looking at me. Before I could scream more, he was already in front of me. His move was as fast as the speed of light. The terror clawed at my gut. I want to run, but my feet are on so much trembling.
He held my chin and scanned my face. "You look better than your useless friend."
My eyes widened. From stone-hard and cold face, his head whips up and something changes on his face. His lips curved. He leaned on me, and the only thing I could do was push myself back against the cold tiles.
"And your smell is so tempting..."
I shut my eyes when he let his nose glide over my jaw and neck. Is he going to bite me too?
"P-please don't..." My tongue feels like a deadweight. I can't properly form a words.
"Don't? What? Bite you...? But I can't hold myself any longer, Ms. Fredrich. Your smell is making me lose my mind. What can you do about it, then? Hmm?"
I opened my eyes. He was looking at me intently. I saw a glint of gold in his eyes. I was stunned. Bea's words and face suddenly flashed. She's true! They are not normal. They are really vampires!
