Olivia’s POV
I sat on the floor of my room, thinking of what had just happened. The sound of my
step-sister's evil shouts faded as she ran down the hallway, no doubt eager to spread the
news of my pregnancy to anyone who would listen.
With shaking legs, I stood up and stumbled to my bed. How could I have been so careless? I
should have hidden the test results better. Now, not only did I have to figure out how to tell
Ethan about the baby, but I also had to deal with the entire pack finding out before I was
ready.
A knock on my door jolted me out of my thoughts.
"Come in,
" I called weakly, half-expecting to see my aunt ready to yell at me.
T o my surprise, it was one of the palace guards.
presence in his office immediately.
"
"Miss Olivia, the Lycan King requests your
My heart started beating fast. Had news already reached Ethan? With no choice but to face
whatever was coming, I nodded and followed the guard.
As we walked, I spotted my step-sister near the main hall, whispering excitedly to a group of
pack members. When she saw me, her eyes gleamed with malice. I quickened my pace,
keeping my head down.
Finally, we reached Ethan's office. The guard announced my arrival and left, closing the door
behind him.
Ethan sat behind his desk, his expression unreadable.
"Olivia,
" he said, his voice calm but
firm.
"I've been hearing some... interesting rumors circulating the pack. Care to explain?"I felt my blood flush down to my face.
"Your Majesty, I...
"
"Is it true?" he asked, cutting me off.
"Are you pregnant?"
I opened my mouth to respond, but no words came out. My hand l unknowingly went to my
stomach, and I saw Ethan's eyes follow the movement.
"Olivia,
" he said, his voice softening slightly.

"
"I need you to be honest with me. Show me the
With shaky hands, I reached into my pocket where I had kept the paper after collecting it
from where my step-sister had dropped it. I held it out to Ethan, unable to meet his eyes.
He took the paper and unfolded it slowly. I heard his sharp intake of breath as he read the
contents.
"So it's true,
" he murmured, more to himself than to me.
I finally found my voice.

"
"Your Majesty, I... I only just found out. I was going to tell you, I
Ethan held up a hand, silencing me. He stood up and walked around his desk, coming to
stand directly in front of me. I braced myself for his anger, his disgust, his rejection.
Instead, he gently tilted my chin up, forcing me to meet his gaze. T o my surprise, I saw
emotions in his eyes. There was no form of anger like I expected.
"Olivia,
" he called my name softly and pulled me into a tight hug. Don’t worry, I am ok with
you carrying my child. Go and rest, we will talk later.
Few minutes after I went back inside, my step mother summoned me. I knew what was
about to come but what surprised me was the fact that she had gathered pack members and
they were waiting patiently for me.
I took a deep breath and turned to face the crowd and my step mother and sister getting
ready for the argument.
But before I could say anything, my step mother moved closer to me and slapped me. I tried
to move away but she held me again and slapped me.
With a swift move, she walked up to me and raised the test paper on my face and then
threw it on me.
My insides twisted with dread as I witnessed the pack members glare and insult me while
they watch my stepmother insult and hit me.My stepsister's lips curled into a wicked grin as she raised her gaze to meet mine, her eyes
alight with malicious delight.
"Well, well, well,
" she taunted with a sneer.
"Look who has been
sleeping around with different men and pretending to be innocent? I knew it, you're just a
cheap slut hiding under the image of an innocent wolf.
My step mother moved closer to me dragging me by the arm towards her.
"Who is the father
you b***h? " she yelled I bent my head refusing to say a word.
When they saw that I wasn't saying anything they laughed in a mean way. Their loud laughs
bounced off the walls.
Hearing them laugh felt like my heart was being stabbed by lots of knives.
Lily gave me a nasty look, she made me feel very uncomfortable and worthless. Then she
said cruel words that I'll never forget.
"You're just a dirty woman! A poor one who can't even keep her mate! I will quickly tell the
elders about this.
And I'll for sure tell the Lycan King.
" she threatened, enjoying how sad I was.
My heart pounded in my chest as Lily's threat hung in the air. How would they react when
they find out the king is the father of my unborn child?
"Please I want to go ...
" I begged, voice trembling.
I'll leave the castle grounds, you'll never have to see me again. Just give me a chance to
"
escape.
Lily's cruel smile only widened at my plea.
deserves to know what a w***e you truly are.
"
"And what fun would that be? No, I think the King
The weight of their harsh words felt like a heavy weight pressing down on my shoulders.
Before I could gather my courage to respond, i noticed the Lycan King himself striding
towards us, his piercing gaze taking in the scene.
It seemed my stepsister's loud voice had disturbed his rest. Despite the fact that he already
knows I was pregnant , I felt ashamed knowing that I was a mate to the kings step brother
and now I am pregnant for him. I immediately ran away tears streaming down my face.
I collapsed onto my bed, body wracked with sobs. Part of me hoped one of my stepfamily
would let me be and not ask who the father of my unborn child was. I eventually cried
myself into an uneasy slumber.
I woke up very early the next day with one thought in my head. Dear moon goddess, grant
me your guidance.
“ I whispered.I quickly got up and ran down the nearest hallway, not caring where it went as long as it was
away from them.
Everyone was suppose to be asleep my now.
Suddenly, I heard sounds of footsteps coming From the corridor, piercing through the
silence. My breath hitched, and I froze in my tracks, straining my ears to hear where the
sound was coming from.
I immediately hid at a corner as I caught sight of two members of the pack. They looked
tired, and seemed like they were retreating from their duty post to go get some sleep as they
walked past me.
As they passed, I held my breath, praying to the moon goddess that they wouldn't notice my
presence.
My heart kept beating fast with different scenarios running through my head.
would they catch me? But all those fears dissolved in the air when their voices continued to
fade into the distance.
Relief washed over me as I allowed myself a moment, my legs trembled from the strain of
staying still for so long.
Slowly, I allowed my breathing to return to normal, trying to steady the heartbeat of my heart.
Gathering my strength , I took a cautious step forward, looking around to make sure they
were truly gone.
A sigh of relief escaped my lips when I confirmed that I was safe, at least for now.
I don't know how long I sprinted through all the hallways and stairs, but eventually I burst
through a side door and made it outside to the gardens in the moonlight. My chest was
beating fast as I looked around for any sign of them chasing me.
That's when I noticed the trees lining the outer castle walls.
If I could climb up one and make it over the top...
Not wasting any more time, I dashed towards the tree line, silently praying I could make it
over before being caught.
My head was spinning badly, but I wasn't sure what the cause was. but I did not let that stop
me from running away.
Digging my fingers into the twisted bark, I started to climb, every muscle straining with the
effort. I couldn't let myself look down, or the height might freeze me in fear.
Just keep moving, keep moving...
Finally, I pulled myself up to a high branch, level with the top of the stone wall. The forest
stretched out in front of me on the other side, the promise of escape so close.I was about to get what I wanted. T o run away from the shame and disgrace. All I had to do
was jump over and I will finally escape everything.
But then a booming voice shattered my focus.
echoed again.
"Who's there!" I said who is there?" The voice
