Olivia’s POV
The first rays of sunlight filtered through the ornate curtains of my new room in the royal
palace. I sat up slowly, thinking of how my life changed in a twinkle of an eye. Just days ago,
I had been a maid in Ryder's hotel. Now, I was back in the pack I had fled, living in the
palace as the Lycan King's personal assistant.
I was dressed for the day, and this time, I was dressed like a royal.
I kept thinking of Why had Ethan brought me back? What did he want from me? The
memory of our night together still burned in my cheeks.
I made my way through the grand hallways, trying to remember the layout Ethan had shown
me yesterday. As I rounded a corner, I froze. There, blocking my path, stood my aunt and
step-sister.
"Well, well,
" my step-sister sneered, her eyes gleaming with malice.
way back.
"
"Look who crawled her
I lifted my chin, trying to project a confidence I didn't feel.
"I'm here at the Lycan King's
request.
"
My aunt laughed, a cold, cruel sound.
"Oh, we know all about the King's 'request.
' Don't think
for a second you belong here, Olivia. We'll make sure everyone knows what a fraud you
"
are.
"You may have fooled the Lycan King,
" my aunt added, stepping closer,
"but we know the
truth. You're nothing but a disgrace to this pack. We'll see to it that you're brought down, just
like you deserve.
"
Their words hit me like physical blows, reopening old wounds I thought had healed. Before I
could respond, they brushed past me, leaving me alone in the hallway.
I leaned against the wall, trying to steady my breathing. Suddenly, a wave of dizziness
washed over me and I gripped the wall for support. What was happening to me?
As the dizziness reduced, it was replaced by an overwhelming fatigue. My limbs felt heavy,
and a dull ache settled behind my eyes. Was this just stress, or something more?
"Olivia?"I looked up to see Ethan approaching, his brow furrowed with concern.
"Are you alright? You
look pale.
"
I straightened up, trying to compose myself.
"I'm fine, Your Majesty. Just a little tired.
"
He studied me for a moment, his eyes searching my face.

"
"If you're not feeling well, you
"No,
" I said quickly, perhaps too quickly.
"I'm okay. I want to start work.
"
Ethan nodded slowly, though he didn't look entirely convinced.
and I'll show you what needs to be done.
"
"Very well. Come with me,
I followed him and he showed me some things about the pack and all. When he was done
showing me around the pack he asked me to come to his chambers. Though I was scared of
going but I couldn’t say No to him.
“How are you doing after that night?” He asked calmly. For the first time I was able to look at
him after that night. All I saw was a look of sincere concern unlike how he acted initially.
“ I am doing fine my king “ I responded
“ Sorry I took advantage of you that night, I was drunk and made a mistake. I should have
been more careful.
”
I looked at the man in front of me and all I could do was tear up. I couldn’t say a word ,
T ears kept pouring down my chin. Ethan came closer to me and hugged me tightly patting
my back.
—————————————
A month had passed since I became the Lycan king assistant and after our last
conversation, we became cool. He has his been very nice to me and I tried as much as
possible to avoid my step family and Liam.
One morning, about a month after my return to the pack, I woke up feeling particularly
unwell. As I got ready for the day, a wave of nausea hit me suddenly. I barely made it to the
bathroom before emptying the contents of my stomach.Leaning against the cool tile wall, I tried to catch my breath. This wasn't the first time I'd felt
sick in the morning, but it was definitely the worst. A nagging suspicion began to form in the
back of my mind, but I pushed it away, not wanting to confront the possibility.
As I made my way to Ethan's office, I felt another wave of nausea. I paused in the hallway,
taking deep breaths to steady myself.
"Olivia?" Ethan's voice came from behind me.
"Are you alright?"
I turned to face him, trying to compose myself.

"
"You've been looking pale for days now. I think you should
I started to protest, but another wave of nausea hit me. This time, I couldn't hold it back. I
rushed to a nearby plant pot, vomiting violently.
Ethan was at my side in an instant, holding my hair back and rubbing soothing circles on my
back. When I finished, he helped me stand.
"That's it,
" he said firmly.
"You're seeing the doctor now.
"
T oo weak to argue, I let him lead me to the pack clinic. The doctor ran some tests, then
asked me to return in a few hours for the results.
As I waited in my room, my mind raced with possibilities. Could it be? Was I...?
Finally, the time came to return to the clinic. With shaking hands, I opened the envelope
containing my test results.
Pregnant.
The word stared back at me, confirming my deepest fears and wildest hopes all at once. I
was carrying the Lycan King's child.
In a daze, I made my way back to my room, clutching the paper to my chest. How would I tell
Ethan? What would this mean for my position in the pack?
As I entered my room, lost in thought, I didn't notice my step-sister until it was too late. She
snatched the paper from my hand, her eyes widening as she read its contents.
"Well, well,
" she said, almost yelling .
"Looks like the fake innocent girl has finally gotten
herself pregnant. Wait until everyone hears about this.
"
I lunged for the paper, but she ran away, laughing cruelly.
"Oh no, dear sister. This is too
good to keep quiet. I wonder what the pack members will say when they finds out you're
pregnant and don’t have a mate?"she ran to the room, shouting for our aunt, I sank to the floor, my world spinning around me.
How had things gone so wrong so quickly? And what would I do now that my secret was
out?
