The relationship between them begins to grow almost immediately, with Kiara feeling alive again after years. But in proportion as they get close to each other, she is faced with the possibility of losing everything that counts, including her heart, her sanity, and her pride.

Chapter1
The bartender Kiara's POV I felt my steps grow cold as I stood in front of the door, listening to the unidentified woman moan, yelling his name and asking for more. I just stood there, hands quivering and legs hurting as I tried to piece my thoughts together. This was my husband's office. It was his moans that I could hear from the office, mingling with whoever this woman was. I couldn't take it anymore, I could not stand out there and listen to them go on with it like wild rabbits. Thoughts disarrayed, I kicked the door open, the sight before me proving to be more than what I had expected. Her blonde hair stuck to her face due to the sweat that clammed her body, she laid atop my husband, her body moving to the rhythm that he wanted. I swallowed. " I'm so sorry to interrupt. I just wanted to tell you that you were supposed to be around for Maya's birthday party. It ended two hours ago" I said, my voice quivering even though I tried to keep it out of my voice. He was startled. That was for sure. He gently nudged the girl away, looking at me, probably to see if his actions would draw tears from me but it didn't. I just felt...numb. This was the first time I caught him cheating. But I had suspected it. The texts on his phone, the late night calls, it was all dragging down to this moment. " I already called to say I won't be coming. So why did you have to come to my office?" He asked, voice cold. I was surprised. A part of me has expected that he would feel some sort of remorse. I was his wife of four years and I just caught him cheating. " Who is she?" I tried to ask, my voice shaky now, unable to be hidden any longer. The blonde haired girl got up, having successfully put on her gown that looked like a top. " I'm so sorry for my manners. I should have introduced myself. My name is Clara. I'm your husband's girlfriend " she said. I was shocked. Both at her audacity and at the fact that my husband just sat there, watching the whole drama unfold. " Go home Kiara. We will talk more when I get back. I already sent my assistant to deliver Maya's birthday gift to her so I don't know why you are still making a fuss." He said. Numb. That was all I felt now. My legs felt like steel as I finally moved, walking back to my car with my head spinning and my heart heavy. Did I really mean this little to him? Where did the man I knew disappear to? As I sat in my car, I knew I did not want to go back home. I could not go back home feeling like this. Against my better judgement, I swerved the car around, leading me to a night club. I could hear the music from a mile away and even though I had been in places like this only once in my life, I still managed to square up my shoulders and walk in. The lights hit me first. The blue and red lights that danced around my vision, making the momentary tear drops that threatened to fall going back in as though intimidated. It felt like I had somehow managed to command the attention of everyone gathered at the club, their eyes piercing through my skin as I walked towards the miniature bar where a man stood, his gaze settling on me slowly as he raised a brow. He was a tall light skinned man with a tanned body that I could see even through the lights of the club. His hair was roughly tousled and even with the number of people that seemed to be clad around, hugging themselves and dancing recklessly, he still managed somehow to stand out. Maybe I was staring for too long, but he did notice and waved a hand over to me. I felt my head trumpet as all problems of my cheating husband seemed to be swept away quickly under the rug. I took one seat, motioning to him with my hands. " One shot please" I said to him, trying to toughen up my voice. He smirked. A pleasant scene through the dark themed club. " Have you never been to a club before?" He asked as he shook the drinks, mixing it with some fruits and vodka. I raised my brows at him. " I asked for a shot" I said. " You look more like a cocktail kind of lady. And I know you probably don't have any idea how a shot tastes so I will just give you this" he said. I could sense the underlying insult of it. He was calling me innocent. Me. The mother of a three year old. " Is this how you treat your customers? Give them the opposite of their orders?" I asked him. All this time, he had not bothered to raise his head and look at me, focusing solely on shaking up the drinks. " Only the ones who come in here dressed like a noble woman. Look around, you are the only one wearing a long gown and carrying a bag. And it brings me back to my question, have you ever attended a club before?" He said. I hated that he was so right. How he seemed so sure of the words that left his lips. I had rushed to my husband's office dressed in the outfit I wore for my daughter's birthday. It did not particularly occur to me that I would stand out so much if I went like that to a club. It infuriated me greatly. " I'm just trying to forget my woes and you won't stop talking" I said to him. His eyes seemed to darken. " Boy troubles?" He asked. I couldn't trust him. I shouldn't. But somehow, I felt myself telling him how I caught my husband with another woman and how he treated me like scum in front of her. He nodded his head after I finished talking, placing a cocktail in front of me. " Do you want to repay him in his own coin?" He asked. I could have sworn he was joking. Or maybe perhaps I did not hear him right. But I did. He was dead serious. He wanted me to have a one night stand with him.
