Laurelynn didn’t even try to go back to sleep. She watched for a few minutes as the newcomer sat with Neil in the corner where Neil had spent most of the evening before. They talked, but not about anything she thought was important, not about anything she thought she could use or would matter even if she managed to get out of here. Her entire body ached.
