## Chapter Six — Three Days
She showed Nathan the photograph when she got home.
He was in the kitchen — he had made dinner even though she had not asked him to, which was the kind of thing she had stopped noticing and then started noticing again because noticing it meant something. He looked at her face when she came through the door and handed her a plate and said: "Eat first."
She ate. It was good. She did not taste it.
After she pushed the plate aside she put the phone on the table between them and showed him the photograph and the three words.
He looked at it for a long time.
"You're not finished," he said.
"Someone sent it from an unknown number immediately after I left Patricia's building," she said. "The number disconnected before I could rep
