I don't understand why she thinks that an accident can actually be the reason for these dreams. I was way too young when mom and dad passed away. I was two. Uncle Sam told me that the car crashed on a giant tree by the roadside. I was miraculously saved without a scratch. Uncle Sam always told me to stay strong, he taught me to love unconditionally and live independently. After my dad, Uncle Sam took my responsibilities. Aunt Jo was not very happy about his decision and always made her point very clear through her actions. Uncle Sam had to let me go when I was fourteen. He didn't have a choice. Aunt Jo left Uncle Sam when I was thirteen and after an year he got a call from his son that his mother was no more. He had to get back to his son in Algeria and it wasn't favourable to take me with hism as his son, like his mother, never approved of me. He always thought I stole his share of love from Uncle Sam. Uncle Sam was very considerate towards me because I was an orphan I guess, but he did take care of me very well.
Staring at the mirror, I was lost in the thoughts of my past and childhood.
"Neyah!!! It's 9 already! Breakfast is ready, come fast!" Lilly was screaming from the kitchen.
Lilly is my roommate and best friend since high school. She was always by my side. She lost her mom two years back and her father abandoned her when she was very young. We found each other in school and since then we were best friends for life! So we decided to live together after school and here we are! Lilly is working in a bar as attender and I..... Well am still hunting. I have an interview today at 10 and "f**k! Am late!!"
I finished my bath in less than 3 minutes which must be a record! I usually take more than an hour to groom myself. I chose a simple white shirt and jeans, light makeup and and a ponytail was perfect for the interview. I rushed out while grabbing a piece of bread from the dining table.
"Don't forget to take the umbrella Neyah! It's gonna rain and ALL THE BEST FOR YOUR INTERVIEW" Lilly screamed on top of her voice as she saw me rushing towards the door.
I stopped and ran back for a quick hug. "Thanks Lil! I don't know what would I do without you?" My eyes were moist when I said that, she was my only family and I was grateful to have her in my life.
"You'll be fine without me, apart from dying while you dream...." We both laughed out and I bid her goodbye.
The climate was very pleasant and the moonlight coffee shop was ten minutes walk from my place. Thankfully I was on time when I reached the coffee shop. I saw a beautiful lady at the bar counter, she was in her thirties maybe, curvy, brunette, about 5.9, she looks like an asian and was welcoming everyone with her best smile. I walked towards her and suddenly I was feeling very confident.
"Hello Ma'am, I am here for an interview. My name is Dolcenea Marcel"
The lady looked at me with the same smile, "Dolcenea!! A very fancy name you have! Please come with me" She called a gentleman from the counter behind and told him something. The guy took over her place and she took me inside a very cosy office room behind the bar counter.
