Chapter Eight

Chapter Eight Elon spotted Melody before she reached him. He sat at the table to the left of the king’s empty throne. He looked displeased and Melody wondered what she’d done wrong. She’d arrived before the king and queen so surely she wasn’t late. “When I leave something for you to wear you’ll take it as an order. Return to my sitting room and dress appropriately.” Elon’s gaze was drawn to her backpack. “And leave that tacky bag, that you insist on wearing everywhere, behind.” “I haven’t been in your sitting room. So I didn’t know there was a dress.” “Where have you been?” She shrugged. “About. I spent most of my time getting lost. A map would be nice.” “I can’t believe how useless you are. Fae are superior to humans in every way. Now go and dress and don’t take all night about it.”
