Chapter Ten
Standing in the stream Melody tipped the water out of the bottle and rinsed it well before she filled it, doing the same with the other. Taking a long drink she felt a little better, or at least not as thirsty.
Once she’d washed all the apples she sat beside Brynn, who’d seated himself beside her backpack during the process, and took a bite of one of the apples. The sweet flavour burst in her mouth and her stomach growled. She glanced towards Brynn a couple of times. He remained silent, warily watching her. When her apple was half eaten, she smiled wryly. “Sorry.” She took another bite.
