Chapter Fourteen

Anna

          I watched them leave through the floor-ceiling window. Trap threw a jacket at Nick and yelled at him,before storming off with Scott tagging along eagerly. The boys just laughed it off. I guess they were used to his tacky behavior. I resigned and turned towards the sitting room where Daniel and Kate was.

              Kate was hanging out with Daniel on this big couch,chuckling at something on his phone. She dared not fantasize about our little escapade to Trimix's cottage this morning. Because as secretive as she was supposed to be,she has been sending some winks across to me. I mean what was that supposed to mean. I bet she was going to give us out sooner or later,because the guys didn't know we snuck out with flask and container containing porridges. But we had been fair enough to make breakfast,including some dishes for their hangovers.

            Zak  and Ralph were in their room. After breakfast, they mentioned something about going job hunting and sight seeing. The two of them sounded like little Doras going on an adventure. They were like two best friends who did a lot together,they really went a long way,I just didn't know how much since they both arrived at PREXUS together.

          Tunner was probably somewhere in the building. I bet there were more rooms in this dorm than I have actually seen. It wasn't massive but the architectural design made it seem so. It wasn't your regular home design,but really skeptic in a way,and beautiful too. I was more than grateful to be living in it. Made me feel guilty towards mum and summer. I got to be living here but they are living in our little home,not that I wasn't proud of where I grew up, I just wished they could as well enjoy a bit of luxury. I owe it to mum,summer,and myself to work hard and make a good earning.

      I sat on a stool in front of the tiled island counter,and propped my hands up to support my chin as I get lost in my own thoughts.

             It takes a breath to say hi.

  Oh goodness!. I can't believe I said that. To Scott. While I knew he was there. They were all there. Seems like I have been getting my confidence pumped up somewhere, he definitely knew I was talking about him. To his dog.

        I let out a faint sigh. How stupid I was,maybe I shouldn't have said all those things. What was I expecting , that he would realize how wrongly he has been treating me and apologize?. Or that he would just scoop me up and take us somewhere far away to confess he has been wrong and we should start all over again,like some old fairytale?, maybe get a little naughty and iust show me what he was if he wasn't angry and maybe kiss me....

      Okay, hold on there young woman, you're getting way too far up in here. My mind scolded me.

      But at least I was expecting something. That was where I was wrong ,a man couldn't possibly change all of a sudden because of a well-made porridge or some weird prep talk,even soap dramas don't do that these days.

      Trap wasn't even a bit indifference. Nothing gave him out. Not his expressions,not his features, nothing in his eyes and the worst of all,he didn't say anything at all. Making me feel all crazy.

         Ugh- I inwardly groaned.

     Did he think I was going to give up?.

Well,he should know, if I had started this, I would definitely finish it. Right now, I was depending on my dad's good genes ,my irresistible charms and luck.

        Well,at least for a man like trap, I'll see how far it'll take me. He'll eventually  talk to me and then we can be friends. What could go wrong?.

      I shrewdly shrugged. Nothing.

  "Hey, who has seen Stephen this morning. Can't find him", tunner announced as he walked down the white stairs, holding a piece of yellow card in his hand.

      By now, Ralph and Zak had walked in too, making monster sounds,which was funny at the same time stupid.

   Nobody said anything.

        "I left him outside last night, haven't seen him since then". I said turning around to face them.

      The sun was fully up in the sky and bright lights shun in, making everything look bright and beautiful. My love for the house just kept on growing and growing.

       "That's weird. He may be silent but at least he was always around",kate added,uncoiling herself from Daniel. She was already getting worried,I could see it.

        "Have you checked his room?", Daniel asked tunner.

     "First place I checked",he replied.

Kate stood up,"try calling his number",she told tunner.

        " Alright".

     Where could he be this early morning.

          "Zak. You and Ralph couldn't make it to your room last night,right?", I asked him.

     As if recollecting ,he said " yeah, I think so. Do you think he took us?"

     I nodded," he was the last person outside and...he cleaned up outside too", I said pointing to the dancing court outside,which was sparkling clean and very near. One couldn't say anything happened there last night.

        "Wow. He really is the big bro,aye?" ,Ralph said with awe, sipping on cold orange juice.

       Tunner grunted,"His phone is off,where could he be".

     Kate groaned already walking around," He didn't seem like something was wrong last night. He was laughing if I'd seen correctly",she muttered

      Something kind of felt off last night. The way he held my hand, with a depth of look, somewhat far away. I couldn't seem but worry myself. Did I do something wrong?.

       "Calm down,Kay. Stephen is a big boy,I'm sure he is okay." Daniel reassured.

       Stephen wasn't that reckless or irresponsible,he could have at least called. Or maybe something happened to him . 

       "You girl's stay here. Tunner you stay with them too, we'll go search the...", Daniel was saying,when we heard the screen door open, leg stomping in and the door closed again.

      We all turned to look,and boy was I glad to see him. Kate and I ran and lounged ourselves at him,making him wince and chuckle.

         "Did I cause my princesses trouble?",he grinned.

     We looked up at him," we've been worried",Kate said. She has been more,overly worried. Our little mummy. I smiled.

       "Are you okay?",I asked him. He hesitated for a while, I saw something quick,real quick that I thought it wasn't even there. Then he nodded. Good ,he was okay,that was all that mattered.

       "Hey!", Zak yelled, the boys coming at him altogether,"where have you been?. Do you know how much we've been worried about you?. How could you leave the dorm without calling?, And why was your phone switched off?. Did you even sleep in last night?. Will you start talking or do you want me to teach you how to use your mouth?!"

     " Woah!", I had to say that,because Zak was a whole lot of mad at the moment which seemed knew to me.

         "I'll think he'll say something if he knows which one exactly to answer",Ralph said timidly.

     Stephen smiled," okay,I'm sorry I didn't call. My phone bailed on me. I had to be somewhere this morning." He said and after a while he added," I'm sorry if I got y'all worried".

        Zak scoffed,breathe out loud and stomped out angrily.

     "Zak!,wait up!,uh.. we'll be going out then", Ralph told us,scrambling away in his baggy pants and juice.

     Stephen raised his hands and resigned.

         "Is he going through puberty?", Tunner asked ,which earned him a knock on the head from Daniel.

      " He was right. I should have called. I'm sorry", he apologized again.

      And I admired that. Is there such man who would admit his mistake and apologize for it so easily. I have rarely found one.

       "It's okay. Zak will be fine, we'll talk to him", I assured him.

       " Now have you had breakfast?", Kate asked already leading him to the island counter.

   He chuckled, "you guys are gonna cook?", He asked,seeming quite amused at that.

     Kate gasped," we made breakfast this morning.",she stated flatly, " are you trying to question our cooking skills?"

        " Bro don't. Just go with it",Daniel warned him before he could argue further.

     And he raised his hands in mock surrender." Impress me",he said

      I crossed my hands on my chest giving him glaring look,"alright you're in"

       Kate and I confided and decided on what we should do. So for the next hour or two,Kate and I  buried ourselves in cooking,pasta,omelette,chicken soup,salads, rice,burritos, and egg muffins, all gloriously. The boys went to play and met us digging in our foods.

       Stephen's jaw slacked," thought you were making me breakfast?".

      "Yes we did",I answered .

   " That's your porridge over there", Kate pointed to the countertop,where we had neatly placed his porridge,covered with a plate. And then we sniggered at each other.

     Daniel came in,shaking his head ,"told you not to argue with them bro",he said and patted his shoulder before coming to give Kate a quick peck, "Tunner and I need to get something real quick at the store. I'll see you later". He said and left with a grinning Tunner. Seemed like they were up to something

      Kate pouted and continued eating anyway. It was all so good,and delicious. I couldn't stop at the sight of all the food on the dining table. I did all of the cooking actually, with Kate only helping out once in a while, taking selfies occasionally and doing more tasting than cooking. Before she eventually confessed to having their cook do the cooking back at home. Well,she had the luxury that I didn't.

     A surprised Stephen eventually gave up and went over to his meal. Kate and I giggled the more, before my phone beeped.

       Best b***h: stepping in Calif in a bit. Be sure to be at the airport, I don't want to be alone or I'll skin you alive. *Angry emojis-angry-and then kisses-kisses- then angry emojis*

      I smiled,that was more like her. Hopefully,Alisa would get back to me once she had talked to Steve about hiring Amy for a post in the company, and then, Amy would be able to move in with us . I hoped she would be able to convince him.

     I turned to Kate anyway, "Amy's touching down in a bit. You're coming along right?"

      She smiled and threw her hands up in the air," of course. We'll go sight seeing. We'll visit the restaurants here, ah... We could go shopping too. We'll buy clothes and our room decor. We would help Amy in too, it will be so much fun!",she ranted on excitedly.

     And I laughed, " We're only helping Amy move into her hotel room, we'll do  sight seeing in the process and then we come back home", I said,more like warned her. Because knowing Kate she could go all out if she was giving the

freedom."You have to behave yourself,okay"

    She shot me a glaring look, " I do behave myself. See, I haven't said anything about going to Trimi..."

     " Sssh.. shut up",I whispered angrily at her. Pointing that Stephen was still there. Luckily he already had his headphone on, and I sighed. I knew she was going to leak it out very soon.

     "Party pooper",she accused me and continued eating.

         "Amy!!" I squealed and ran to hug her once we got off the cab. She hugged me back excitedly.

        "I miss you,girl",she said and dimmed a little ," if she's looking at me cos I'm Kim k, tell her I just look good. I'm not"

      Kate was obviously grinning hard at Amy,she was barely holding herself in. I broke a laugh and did the introduction, "although I didn't think this is necessary seeing as you've both met before. Anyway, Amy this Kate. Kate, Amy",I said.

       " Hi. I'm Kate Campbell. Very nice to meet you again. We spoke on the phone last time, remember",Kate was quick to say and I was only smiling like an i***t.

        " Yeah. We did. You've got a pretty high up energy ,lady",Amy commented.

    " Now, shall we go tour California?!", Amy announced very proudly

       And kate squealed aloud and giggled," Yes!. Yes we shall."

     Oh no. Their combo wasn't a good one. What would they make me do now. Seeing as ecstatic as both of them were I resigned to fate.

    Today was going to be a long...long day.
