The Prisoner
"So you mean you left her in the cabin ? All by herself?" He asked. "Yeah, I did. " "You i***t!" He roared . Twenty years of serving him, and he still treated the young man like he was nothing. Anger surged through the young man as he clenched his fists, ready to jump at him any moment from now and beat the hell out of his master. But then, one look at those stone cold large eyes that never rested, and he realeased the clench. Those eyes brought back memories. Memories that made the young man feel very uncomfortable. They made him feel FEAR. Fear like never before. "I....I am sorry. But Jarrow said that you had summoned me , and that it was urgent, so I had ...." He was cut off as usual. "You had to what ? Kevin? Huh?" "I had ..." He was cut off again. This time, his master finished his sentence for him. "You had to leave her with any of the guards , or even Jarrow. But you didn't. Because you are pathetic. You are a common fool who never learns! ". His master shouted. "I'm sorry. " "You'd better be. Now, listen to me. Don't you ever underestimate that girl. You hear me? Don't you ever underestimate her. She is more powerful than you think." Kevin had already had enough at this point . He rolled his eyes and responded quite flatly. "She's tied to a chair , For crying out loud. She is powerless. When are you going to realise....." Kevin stopped mid sentence. That wasn't right. He shouldn't have talked back. Jared, his master , looked at him with those eyes again and held him by the throat. Kevin struggled to get his hands off him, but Jared held him higher and tossed him to the wall. Kevin let out an agonizing groan and rolled on the floor in pain. "You don't get to talk to me like that. " Said Jared , as he moved closer to his wounded victim with a menacing smirk on his face. "Now, get up and go watch over her!" With strength he didn't know he had, Kevin got up and run as fast as he could. Meanwhile, his hostage was just waking up with a terrible headache. Everything seemed blurry to her for the first few minutes, then, she remembered what happened hours ago. She looked around and saw no one. Her first instinct was to get up and run, and then she realised that she had been tied up. She felt so weak and pathetic. She tried to struggle her way out of b*****e, but the tight ropes bit into her flesh with every move she made and she finally gave up. Shortly after, she heard footsteps. With every second, the footsteps grew louder and her heart pounded against her chest, matching the rythym of the footsteps. They footsteps finally ceased and she saw a Shadow by the window. Her heart sunk . She knew that figure. She began to shiver as she desperately waited for the inevitable moment when her captor would open the door. The moment came. Slowly, he opened the door and stepped inside, locking eyes with her . He had an expression on his face which suggested that he had a rough day and would not tolerate any kind of defiance. She thought of what to do carefully and swallowed hard , before breaking eye contact. "Tell me everything about you. What does Jared want with you? Why are you in this story at all?" He questioned. His hostage only looked at him with questioning eyes . She honestly didn't know if she refused to give him an answer, or she didn't know the answer herself. Everything seemed strange. She seemed to be in her own little world. He drew closer and repeated his question. He got the same reaction again, and he snapped. He grabbed her hair. "I asked you a question girl! And I deserve an answer." The girl let out a yelp as he yanked her hair. She honestly didn't know what to tell him. "Well ? I'm waiting. " He announced. Realising that he wasn't going to get an answer from her, he smacked her . She burst out in anger spewing insults at him . "How dare you? You have no right to do that you...." She was cut off with another smack , and then another, followed by another, and another, until her nose started to bleed and she began to cry. "Are you going to answer me now missy?" She nodded. "I don't know, I really don't know why....why he's after me . I only know that he wants something from me. I don't know what it is ....I really don't." 'liar'...she heard. She scanned the room and there was nobody but her captor and her. So where did that voice come from? It took a while for him to leave her alone. But he returned a few minutes later looking really frustrated. He ran his fingers through his hair. He really had a nice figure. He was well built. Not entirely muscular, he was just okay, and he didn't seem that old . Maybe a bit over 27 . His hostage observed all these, ignoring the pain he had caused her earlier. When he finally looked at her again, she saw a sparkle in his jade coloured eyes. He sighed and finally spoke. "Look,...I ... I'm sorry. Okay? I shouldn't have done that to you. It's just that everything is messed up right now. And I really need answers because Jared is obsessed with you and my life has become unbearable ever since he discovered your existence." She only glanced at him as she registered his words in memory. There was something quite gentle about him. She felt that she could trust him, regardless of the situation she was in because of him . " Can I get a towel or something ? Anything to clean this up." She half expected him to snap and hit her again for being so demanding. Instead, he gently nodded and took off his shirt, and wiped her bloody nose. "Thank you. You honestly don't seem like a bad person." She said . "I don't?" He enquired. "No, you don't. You look like a good guy. And good guys don't do things like this. I can feel that this isn't what you want. So , why don't you let me go? ". It was a huge risk, but she took it anyway. He smiled. "I should have known. You don't see any good in me, you just want to get to me , so that I release you, you little liar. You just want your freedom. " He shook his head and left while mumbling something under his breath. She was all alone, again in the cabin, left with no other choice than to scream for help, as if that was going to save her from her fate .
