Brandon's POV*
I stood in my chambers, gazing out the window at the moon hanging low in the sky. My pack, the Nightshade pack, had been cursed for years. The rejections had been many, and the moon goddess had grown angry. She'd cursed us to never find our true mates, instead forcing us to take breeders who would bear us children but never again after the first birth.
The curse had also caused our pack's female population to dwindle. We'd tried everything to break it, but to no avail. That was until we'd discovered the existence of a Lunaria wolf. Legend had it that a Lunaria was a rare, powerful wolf with glowing purple eyes. She would possess extraordinary healing powers and be nearly unbeatable in combat.
And now, after years of searching, we'd finally found one. "Alpha Brandon," my beta Max called from the doorway. "The Lunaria is here." I turned to face her, a mix of excitement and trepidation coursing through my veins.
The Lunaria was a beautiful woman. I was surprised that she hadn't reacted aggressively or even used the powers she was said to possess. I'd seen her eyes glowing with a faint purple light, and I knew she had to be the one.
"Please come in," I invited her. She just stood there. "What is a Lunaria?" she demanded, her voice firm. "You keep calling me that, but I don't know what it means."
I raised an eyebrow, intrigued by her ignorance. "You don't know what you are?" I asked, taking a step closer to her. Julia shook her head, her eyes never leaving mine.
"Come in; I'll give you all the answers to your questions," I said. She was a bit hesitant but chose to come in this time. I invited her to join me in my dining area in my chambers and pulled out a chair for her to sit.
"With all due respect, I didn't come here for that," she replied, crossing her arms around her chest. "Give me the answers I need or let me just go back to my pack."
I chuckled, a low, rumbling sound. "Your pack? The same pack that rejected you? The same mate who refused to claim you?" Julia's eyes flashed with anger, and she took a step forward, her fists clenched.
I saw the purple in her eyes increase and I knew I had f****d up.But I wanted her come to reality, she was mated to a bastard who rejected her for a slat.
"That's none of your business," she snarled. I smiled, my eyes locked on hers. "Oh, but it is my business now," I said, my voice low and husky. "You're a Lunaria, and you are mine now."
“The question is, will I allow you to own me?”She paused looking at me sternly
“I will answer that for, No.”
That's when I knew I had to take things slowly and I wasn't going to command her like I did to everyone else...We needed her.
*Julia's POV*
When the lady called Daria took me, we entered a big room full of omegas who were all there to serve me. I'd never liked that kind of treatment.
"I'll clean myself," I said. "Please, ma'am, we are following the Alpha's orders. Let us clean you," one omega said. I saw her looking at the woman I came with, who was looking back at her with warning eyes.
"It's okay; I can clean myself, and he won't know unless one of you tells him," I replied, looking at the woman I came with. "It's okay, Luna; you can go ahead," the lady said.
"I'm not your Luna," I replied. "We believe you are, just by looking at your eyes." I walked to the mirror to see what was up with my eyes. Everyone had been talking about them since I left my pack, and I saw it – my eyes were glowing purple.
