As we walked, the trees grew taller and the air thickened with the scent of damp earth and decaying leaves. We emerged into a clearing, and I gasped in surprise. Before me lay a sprawling estate, surrounded by towering trees and winding streams. The buildings were a mix of modern and rustic, with wooden beams and stone walls.
Max led me through the winding paths, past guards and servants who nodded in respect. We arrived at the main house, a grand structure with a sweeping staircase and crystal chandeliers. Max pushed open the doors, and we stepped inside. The air was thick with the scent of smoke and leather.
We walked through the hallway, lined with portraits of stern-looking men and women. We arrived at a door, adorned with intricate carvings of wolves and moons. Max pushed open the door, and we stepped inside.
The room was dimly lit, with a fire crackling in the hearth. A figure rose from the shadows, tall and imposing, and stood before me, his presence commanding attention. His hair was a rich, dark brown, cut short and styled perfectly to accentuate his chiseled features. His eyes were a piercing blue, gleaming with a fierce intensity that made me shiver.
He had a strong, muscular build, honed from years of fighting and leading his pack. Despite his intimidating appearance, there was something undeniably attractive about Alpha Henry. A raw, animalistic energy seemed to emanate from him, drawing me in with an otherworldly allure.
"Ah, Max," he said, his voice low and gravelly. "You've brought me a gift." Max bowed, his eyes cast downward. "Yes, Alpha. I found her being held by rogues. I think she is the one."
The Alpha's eyes narrowed, his gaze sweeping over me. "You might be right; those eyes. She's a beauty," he growled. "And she smells...different." He stepped closer, his eyes burning with intensity. "I can smell the scent of another pack on her," he growled. "But I can also smell something else...something sweet."
He reached out, his hand brushing against my cheek. I flinched, but he held me firm. "You're going to make a fine breeder, the Lunaria," he whispered, his breath hot against my ear. "You'll break the curse and will bear me many strong pups."
I had escaped the rogues but fell right into the lion's den. How was I going to be a breeder, yet I was already carrying my mate's child? And what did the Lunaria mean?
“I'm not a breeder.I shouldn't have come here”I said turning to run.
I ran following the routes we had came for but someone was running after me and he caught my arm.It was Max.
“Let go of me, you saved me from rogues just to bring me here saying it was safe, yet you and your Alpha are monsters”I barked out
“Calm down Julia, you just have the qualities of our Luna and no one is going to force you to do what you don't want”He said but I wasn't buying it, I wasn't there Luna, I had just got rejected by an Alpha.I was not planning on being used and rejected again.I pulled away from him and continued to walk.
“Okay, at least stay for the the night. Its not safe out there. You can leave in the morning”He persuaded.
It was too dark and I knew too well what awaited me there so I chose to sleep over.
I saw him mind linking someone.“The Alpha says he is sorry”
We walked back to where I had left their Alpha.
I saw him mind-linking someone, and within seconds, a slightly old lady showed up. "You called for me, Alpha?" "Please, take her with you. Give her a fresh bath" he ordered. "Yes, Alpha," she replied, walking towards me and leading me through the hallway to goddess knows where.
I felt a wave of fear wash over me, followed by a surge of determination. I would not go quietly into this fate. But for now, I was trapped, at the mercy of this ruthless Alpha.
