Diana pov: “What am I doing here?” She lashed back at him rhetorically, “What are you doing with her?” She barked. He turned to me for a second but I kept my head down, pretending I felt guilty for what had just happened when I had orchestrated the whole thing. A Minute ago, I got a call from the Cali the receptionist that Rebecca was coming, so I made my move and waited for her. He stretched both arms and shook his head, “this is all just a big misunderstanding, she was reaching for my pen that dropped to the ground” he explained but she wasn’t buying it. Why would she? “You b***h” She screamed at me. “I’m going to kill you” she lunged towards me but Gaston pushed her back. She almost collapsed to the floor. Glaring back at him, a shocked expression on her face, she couldn’t believe that he would do such a thing. “Did you just push me?” She muttered terrified. “Why don’t we all calm down” he suggested. Calm down, I scoffed. That’s something Rebecca wouldn’t do, no one likes to see another woman on her husband’s thighs. It pains Rebecca more because she started like this, and finally got him. It would shatter her to see all her hard work go to waste because a new girl is in the picture. “You have to fire her” she barked, resting her arms on her waist. “Please” I whined despite the tiny laugh bulging in my throat. Gaston looked at me like a lost puppy he took pity on, “I can’t do that. That’s unprofessional” he said. Rebecca couldn’t believe what she was hearing, “Are you saying that you won’t fire her” “Yes” “What?” “She just started working here, it would be unethical to fire her just because you asked” he stated. “I am your wife, if I want somebody gone in your office then they should be gone” “No, not this time Rebecca. She stays. This is all just a big misunderstanding.” He insisted. “It was a misunderstanding for her to sit on your thighs, it was also a misunderstanding for your hands to touch her. Do you think I am a fool” “I think I will just go” I cut her off and walked right behind him and out of the office. Once I was in my desk, I grabbed my headset and stuffed them in my ears as I listened to every word they said. I had already bugged his office with cameras and listening devices. “She really needs this job, I can’t fire her just like that” Gaston continued. Rebecca nodded her head, it’s not the first time Gaston had cheated on her, it’s just the first time she found out that there is a woman in his life. “There is absolutely nothing to be bothered about. She is just my secretary” he added. “Just your secretary” she repeated, tracing her tongue against her lips. “Yes” He circled back to his seat and folded his arms, “Why are you here anyways?” He demanded. “Mother sent me” she moved towards him and dropped her purse on the desk. “Why?, she could just call me” “She tried, I guess you were too occupied to see her calls and mine too.” She crossed her eyes at him. “I just said it was a misunderstanding, besides I just had a meeting that ended five minutes ago” he lied. “Well, Mother wants you to pick up a gift, it’s a Chinese vase that just popped up in the market, she has been searching for it for months now and wants to use it as a business Favour for Mr Golde.” She stated, folding her arms. “Why can’t you pick it up yourself?” He complained. As I watched them bicker, It made me wonder when their marriage turned sour, after being all lovey dovey enough to kill me. It made me feel like my death was a waste. “I have an event to attend for mother, I am already twenty minutes late. She texted you the coordinates to the address.” She grabbed her purse ready to leave. “Don’t forget to pick it up” “I won’t” he looked away. “So you are not going to fire her?” she demanded one last time, to see if she had a little dominance. He raised his head to her, then stared at the door. “If you are done, you can leave. I am not firing anyone because of a misunderstanding” he said then erected his monitor focusing all his attention on it. There was a loud silence, her eyes were on him but he didn’t bother that she was still in the room. “Aren’t you atleast going to see me off?” she requested, waiting by the door for him to move his feet. “You know your way around, I have a lot of work to do. I will see you at home” he cut her off and never spoke again. “Bye” she stepped out and stopped right in front of my desk. I could see the hatred in her eyes, like she could kill me with one look. I know it’s killing her inside that she didn’t succeed in firing me. By now she knows that Her husband fancies me and will find other ways to get rid of me instead. “Goodbye Mrs Gomez” I smiled at her. She glared back and then walked away. Judging by their relationship, it would be so much easier breaking them apart than I thought, I had imagined them to be so close more than ever since they had both orchestrated a murder but that was the exact opposite of what was happening. She won’t be able to shake off the feeling of Deja vu that will haunt her from this day. “Diana,” Gaston called through the phone, “I need you in my office now” he ordered. “I’m coming Sir” I responded.
