Unprotected

The police came back with little evidence on the case, they said that Nathan just disappeared.

They left shortly after saying they don't have any other officers they could leave here to watch over after what had just happened.

That day had gone fast and news of the incident had spread rapidly, I grabbed me and Jewel some clothes and things to do for a couple nights while we stayed at a hotel.

Today I had also called in and quit work since i got bills to pay and they weren't having me work.

As we approached the hotel I noticed a help wanted sign, that will be good for right now.

I got me and Jewel a room for 4 nights and also asked to speak to a manager.

"Not many people are wanting to work here, everyone's leaving town." The older women said

"I know but I need a job and don't exactly have the money to make it to families and stay."

"When will you be able to start." She asked

"Tomorrow if you need me to." I told her.

She nodded her head and headed towards a drawer in her office, pulling out a uniform.

"Wear this and you can start at 8 tomorrow morning, your shift will end around 4 and you will have a 30 minutes break when you need one." She said before sending me on my way.
