CHAPTER 34

AZAZEL’S POINT OF VIEW “I have never seen you this worried in ages. Am I a bad friend if I say that is making me relieved?” I smiled sadly at Michael, who looked worse than me. I know he was trying to act strong, but his eyes were giving away his fears. After briefly meeting with two of his sons, I flew to the human realm, where Michael and I decided to meet. Both of us didn’t have the guts to face our children, especially if they discover the truth. “Not exactly. I know I have transformed myself into a stone for the past eleven years, but now I am starting to feel everything like it is my first time. You think they would fix the puzzle on their own?” Michael was staring at the pine trees that surrounded us and just shook his head slowly. “I do not know. I never thought she would write about Leviathan to Ezra. He was always interested in these kinds of things and I had no proper reason to stop him.” Kiara has been his daughter for more than a decade and it was only natural for him to feel this tensed. If it was possible, we would have told the kids ourselves, but none of us could muster up the courage to remind them of their terrible past. Besides, it was instructed that should find about themselves on their own. Only then will they be able to grasp the importance of their existence. We were silent for some minutes, just enjoying the breeze and sounds made by nature. God really was the greatest engineer out there. But why does he have to make everything so complicated? “Will they hate us?” I sighed on hearing Michael’s question and for a second my tongue felt so heavy to move. It was a topic I was trying to avoid and now that it was exposed; I had no answer. “Let us just hope for the best.” Did I mean it? Yes. With all my heart. “How long do we have before the D-Day?” Another sour subject. “Probably two to three months.” Michael nodded his head and grimaced, glancing at his hands. “That man always gives me trouble. If something happens to our kids because of his greed, tell him I won’t let him live.” I smiled despite the situation. Our kids? How far we have come. “Lucifer is already regretting his actions. Furthermore, his son is in the mess as well and the devil king would sacrifice himself for his children.” And that was the truth. Lucifer may not express it, but he was a great and loving father and would do anything for their safety. Maybe that is why God made such a decision. “Is that boy of any good? You think he will protect our daughter.” Again, he said ‘our’ and I was getting emotional. And about Samael, I can already see the differences Kiara has brought on him. That stupid boy is just too afraid to listen to his own heart. “He should. That’s his fate.” ****************** SAMAEL’S POINT OF VIEW “Unholy f*****g s**t! That hurts like hell. Bloody cucumber.” Leviathan was literally singing a chain of curse words, and Reuben had his glare fixed on him. The protective brother didn’t want his sister to hear all those, however Kiara looked unfazed. In fact, she looked so lost in thought that she had no idea what was happening around her. Ezra was biting down his pain, but I saw few tear drops escaping his eyes. I assume that since Ezra was older than Kiara; he had stronger energy, and it intensified the pain two fold. Thank hell it wasn’t Reuben who initiated the contact. Kiara moved forward and grabbed Levi’s wrist, startling him. Both her brothers stared at the connected limbs in shock and the pain was soon forgotten. “Imagine my surprise then.” She said, seeing her siblings’ wide eyes. “It doesn’t make any sense, brothers. How can I touch him when you can’t?” Kiara released him and went to stand near Reuben. “Have you seen anything like this before?” She asked to her elder brother, but he just shook his head. “None. Even Johnathan doesn’t know, and he should since he is studying to enter the council. But he says it is impossible. He also planned to come with us but didn’t get the permission.” Of course, I am already amazed that they let two powerful angels inside our school without any guards. “Its not just me who can touch her. My father can too.” Leviathan blurted out, flexing his fingers. Right, I totally forgot abut it. “Azazel? When did he touch me?” Doesn’t she remember? Is that why she never mentioned about him? “On the first day. When you were covered in blood.” S**t! “In what?” Reuben’s voice boomed across the room, and I saw Asmodeus taking a step next to Keres in fear. The angel looked ready to kill, and his eyes were blazing in outrage. I never thought an angel could be this angry. I always considered that they were the epitome of peace. Guess I am wrong. “What happened Kiara Snow Michael?” Kiara glanced at her sneakers, not daring to face her brothers. So she didn’t tell them? I do not know why I stepped forward. But it was too late for me to back off, as all attention now turned to me. I have never admitted that the prank was my plan, but for some reason, I decided to come clean. “It was me. I hated that an angel, especially Archangel Michael’s daughter, was attending our school. I wanted to scare her and make her leave. I apologize for my thoughtless action.” Damn, I sounded so convincing, even to myself. Did I mean it? It felt like I did. “We are all sorry,” Asmodeus said, followed by Damien and Leviathan. However, the guys’ complete attention was on me. Did they think I was lying? ******************** KIARA’S POINT OF VIEW Wow. I was dumbfounded, just like my brothers, to feel the sincerity behind Samael’s words. He really meant what he said, and I never thought he would be this honest. The other guys were still not completely apologetic, but Samael was a different case. What made him change all of a sudden? “I am sorry for misbehaving. We have never been separated from our sister and as you can see, she is our everything. Since you are sincerely confessing, we will let it slide for one time but hurt her again and we won’t hold back. It would have been a different case if our oldest brother was here.” That was true. Adam would have done something irreparable and thank God he didn’t come. Sometimes he is more vigilant than our father and doesn’t care about the rules if it is something concerning me. All my colleagues nodded their head and Ezra smiled, to lessen the tension. “You were mentioning your father.” Yes, it slipped. Leviathan looked hesitant at first, but then sighed and looked straight at me. “On that day, he helped you from the ground. We saw him holding your arm and supported you to get inside the car.” Holy angels! How did I forget. I was so stressed that day that I forgot about it altogether. “You are right. Heavens, how did I not remember.” “Also, I feel like I have seen you when I was little. I am reminded of my past and today at the theatre I got unnecessarily sentimental when you held onto me. And… well… I do not know if it’s a coincidence and I am reading too much into it, but we have the same hair color.”  My eyes almost popped out on hearing that we had the same hair color. None of my brothers had the same color as mine and I always stood out in my previous school and even here. Was that why they asked me if my locks were natural? “Even I feel like I have known you before. I get the same vibe from him I get from my brothers.” I said, turning back to two confused looking faces. However, our serious conversation was interrupted by the final bell. I think I just missed the last class. …………………………… Ezra, Reuben and I headed to my house, and Keres said that she would drop by at night, after my family leaves. Leviathan and the others left, knowing that no one had a clear idea about this unique situation and he assured that he would ask his father directly. Before we dispersed, Samael asked if I have ever visited hell. Reuben shook her head and told that he didn’t know. “Kiara has always been special. Unlike us, she wasn’t taken from the adoption centre. I remember father telling that she was a direct gift from the God, but we thought he was being metaphorical. After hearing what you said and seeing all these unimaginable things, I have my doubts. Besides, she has large unique golden wings that glow and father and Uncle Gabriel always requested her to hide it from the others until she came here. I can only ask him once we return and hope he knows what the reason behind all this is.” I am a gift from the God? Is that possible? But I thought ‘He’ did not meddle in the lives of mere angels like me directly. And what about my wings? Why was it different? Is there a different motive for sending me here?  Once we reached my house, both my brothers were impressed, but they were beyond shocked when I took them to the basement and introduced Asher. “Holy father of the father, is that a midnight unicorn in hell? And what in the world is this place?” Ezra shouted, not believing his eyes. Asher has already grown half his full size and his wavy long fur color made him look majestic. He was shy to see the strangers at first, but later pulled me by my hair to stay next to him. He was apprehensive of my brothers and his protective instinct towards me was kicking. He remained like a barrier between me and them until he was satisfied that they were not a threat. I am proud of my boy. “God! This has been one miracle filled visit. You said you found him under the ashes, right?” I nodded, cuddling with my large baby. He has reached my height already and I wonder how massive he will be when he reached his adulthood. “It is possible that his mother gave him birth in the alley and she must have died after that. When unicorns perish, they turn into ash and don’t leave a body. But if his mother was that hurt, then she wouldn’t have been able to walk there on her own with no one noticing. Did someone purposely left her there?” Ezra said, still mesmerized by Ashy. If that’s the case, the who left such a precious animal in an alley? We spent the next three hours talking about anything and everything and both my brothers tried to ride Asher, only to fall down endless times. Now that I think about it, he would not even allow Keres to be on top of him, but just me. As if he only had one owner. Ezra and Reuben brought me tons of things from heaven and I couldn’t be more happy. They wished me luck for my exams and kissed my forehead before getting inside the car. “Ara?” I bent my knees to reach Ezra’s eye level and leaned my hand on the door for support. “Is there something going on between you and Lucifer’s son?" I was taken aback by his sudden choice of topic and shook my head stubbornly. “Why would you even ask me that?” I exclaimed, finding his question ludicrous. No matter how much he helps me, I will always be an enemy to him. “Just asking, sister. Make sure you always carry your arrows, in case he tries something funny.” Saying that, they drove off, leaving me stupefied. What funny business did they mean? Don’t tell me they were talking about… God!!! I was certain that I was blushing and shifted my heels to head back when I felt the familiar energy. Not now, please. “Did your brothers leave?” …………………………
