KIARA’S POINT OF VIEW
“Do not show your fears to them. They will take advantage of it. And don’t forget that you will always be their enemy, no matter how friendly they act. They will try to gain your trust and then stab you in the back. Always be aware of the ones who smile at you. They are definitely hiding their true intentions and are more capable of hurting you than the ones who openly hate you.”
Aaron was pacing through the hall, his arms flowing with gestures, indicating how serious he was. Only one more day for me to depart and here I am sitting in the middle of my entire family, Rachel and Archangel Gabriel; listening to tons and tons of advice.
I have been silent ever since Ezra told me that Samael would be in my school. I don’t know if my life can get any worse. I will literally be studying with the son of Lucifer, whom my father cast out of heaven. They are going to burn me alive. What exactly was the council thinking?
“And Kiara, don’t eat open foods. Always choose tightly packed sandwiches or something like that and never have anything from the cafeteria. You can go without food for almost a month, right? I will find some way to get you our meals by that time.”
This piece of advice was from Ethan, and I just gave him a blank stare. First, they wanted me to go to hell. And now they want me to starve myself. Just great!
“There is a very dangerous device called the ‘cell phone’ aka ‘mobile’ and it is very popular in the human world and hell. It is addictive and will suck up your time and abilities. It will make you lethargic and will slow down your brain functions. If someone offers it to you, throw it away immediately before it latches onto you. It is more harmful than most of the demons down there.”
Rachel had pure awe in her eyes as she gawked at Johnathan’s face. Isn’t she making it a little too obvious? And how did Johnathan know what was happening in hell? Ezra never talks about his visits, and the only other way is to have a direct connection with someone from hell. Who could that be?
“What should I do if they try to hurt me physically?”
I have asked this question a thousand times already and father reassured me that they wouldn’t do such a stupid thing. If something happens to me, even a scratch, then the council will take serious actions and Heaven won’t hold back at any cost. Right! Take action after the damage is done.
However, this time I didn’t hear the usual words, again; instead, Uncle Gabriel took out a small pouch from his pocket. He opened it to reveal a small arrow-shaped wooden object that had blue feathers at the end.
“Always carry this with you. You can use it on the ones who approach you with bad intentions. This won’t hurt them physically, but it will make them hallucinate. You can use that opportunity to save yourself and then report to the head office. This pouch will never go empty, so you don’t have to worry about refilling it.”
“Are angels allowed to use weapons?”
Ezra asked, eyeing the intrigued-looking objects with interest. He was always interested in weaponry but had never used one.
“No, this is not a weapon exactly. And I have requested for special permission from the council for her to have it. But, Kiara, don’t forget that you can’t use it on random demons who irritate you. If the council asked, you should have a proper explanation for your actions.”
I literally snatched it from the table and traced my fingers along the pointy side. At least I won’t be weaponless when anyone attacks me, but I hope such a situation never arises. I am training to be an angel and I will try my very best to stay away from violence, no matter how pleasing it is to see a demon going crazy. Maybe then, he will understand the need for God.
“Thank you, Uncle Gabriel. I will use it wisely.”
I told him with a huge grin, and he smiled at me lovingly. Archangel Gabriel has always been my mentor and a close family member. I have heard stories of him fighting fallen angels and other demons, but to me, he will always be the sweetest uncle a girl could have. Although there are no relationships in heaven, I always address my close ones with words like uncle or aunt, so that they know how much I value their existence.
“You will not be staying with other students because of safety reasons, instead the Principal has informed me that you could use an abandoned house near to the school. It was a soul torturing chamber before, but now they have relocated it away from the institution as children were more interested in watching the experiments than attending classes.”
Rachel gagged after hearing father explaining the history of the very building I should be moving in two days, and she apologized immediately for being disrespectful. This was the first time she had been to my house and my best friend was being extra careful around the powerful Angels and Johnathan.
“The principal has also told me he would make the necessary arrangements to make it inhabitable.”
I nodded my head, not exactly believing the words of a demon. They are known to be deceiving, and I am sure that I will have to do everything on my own once I get there.
“One more thing, Kiara, you do not have to hide your wings anymore.”
I sat up straight from my crouching position and stared at my father in disbelief. All my life he has asked me not to use my wings in front of other angels, but now he is okay with it? Especially when I will be surrounded by a bunch of fallen angels?
“The angels may find your wings different, but not the devils. It will in fact act as a protective barrier for you.”
I wanted to ask him how, but refrained from it, seeing how his posture had changed to defending mode. He didn’t want me to ask any questions. Alright, as long as I am not harmed.

SAMAEL’S POINT OF VIEW...
“Where is father?”
I was literally shaking with anger from head to toe and I vaguely remember running out of the basement, leaving behind my confused friends.
What in the f*****g world was everyone thinking while making such a stupid decision? And how is this even possible? Giving an Angel our education is basically like telling them all our secrets. This is pure suicide! And when the hell did Angels and Demons become such close friends? There is a f*****g reason why we are separated by the freaking human world.
My mother was going through her kitchen cupboard when I stormed in, and because of the sudden intrusion, her hand slipped from the porcelain tray she was taking out, causing it to fall down and break into an infinite number of pieces. Talk about a dramatic entry!
“I have told you several times not to come in unannounced. You know how much I value these babies.”
My mother was shouting at me with all her might while carefully picking up a piece of her ‘oh so precious’’ tray and looked at it with such love that I wished she would look at me with someday. Even though Lilith was not the one who gave birth to me and my sister, but a random nameless human, she was the one who raised us. And she will always be the motherly figure to me, despite the fact that her obsession with shiny things is unbearable.
“It’s not time for that, mother. Did father tell you anything about an Angel joining our school?”
Obviously, father was not here, otherwise he would have come down by now. He loves commotion, especially when the victim is mother’s favorite object.
She looked at me with a smirk, and I didn’t like the sudden change in her attitude.
“You knew?”
I can’t believe my family! And why the hell is mother looking so smug about it? Wasn’t she cast out as well?
“Yes! Your father went to the council to make the necessary arrangements. I heard she is the daughter of Archangel Michael. Must be a beautiful girl.”
“Are you kidding me?”
The first thing that caught in my hand was her Qianlong Vase and, without thinking twice, I smashed it on the floor, watching the pieces get mixed with the previous ones.
“What is f*****g wrong with you? That was new, Samael!”
She screamed on top of her lungs and to let me know how irritated she was, she let out her long pointy nails and black wings. Now we are talking.
“You feel angry now, mother? So imagine how it must have felt for me after hearing the news. I won’t let that b*tch study here. I will shred her to pieces.”
I stomped out of the hall but was stopped by my mother in a very unloving way.
“Do that and you are out of the underworld.”
