Something seems off

Kri's POV:

"Oh...so it seems like you guys are having fun"Sri rushed in like a storm. I'm just surprised

"Am I dreaming?"I turned to Sasha and she reflects the same expression.

"Srivi, "we both said in unison. We both ran towards her and engulfed in a hug. For a minute I couldn't believe what I saw. It's Sri, she is here. finally. I felt like crying, it been almost a week without seeing her, we were worried as s**t and this girl shows up now. I can't thank god enough. 

Srivi's POV:

"Bishes, so you forgot about me?already?"I fake pouted and hugged both of them. "Guys, come hug me, I'm missing your warmth," I said.

They hugged me so tight...damn I feel suffocated and they started crying.

"Girl, do you have any idea about how worried we are?"Sasha playfully hit my shoulder.

"Ahh..ouch"I groaned in pain. Shit...I mentally face palmed myself.

"What happened?" their eyes went wide.

"Nothing much. hehe"I let out an awkward smile.

"Don't you dare hide anything"Kri glared at me.

"ok, ok, it's I just got injured. A small wound" I showed them my back.

Kri's POV:

"Small wound? are you kidding? you are insane Sri. What's this?"I asked. she fell silent. I felt like it's better not to push her now.

"Yaar(friend in Indian slang)...I'm fine now, that's what it matters right?"Sri smiled.

"Go in and take rest," Sasha said, "we should inform the police as well".

"Police? why police?"srivi got surprised.

"long story..in short, when you were missing we couldn't sit silent.so, we asked them to search for you" I said.

"Actually it is them who discovered that you were missing"Sasha spoke.

"Ouch, a lot to take in, my head hurts"srivi winced in pain.

"Have some rest, will make something to eat"I said. "and we have a lot to catch up" Sasha glared at srivi.

Sri tip toed to her room.

"Are you ok?"I looked at Sasha.

"Something seems off" she replied.

"Let's give her some space," I said and we started preparing lunch for her.

Srivi's POV:

After 3 hrs of fitful sleep, I got up. "Ahh..."I looked around the room, my room, that's a relief and my thoughts wandered around DAVID.

"what he must be doing now?"I cleared all my thoughts and made my way to the living room.

"Yolo guys. I'm up"I smiled.

"Lunch is ready" Sasha yelled from the kitchen. Kri arranged the table. We sat and ate in silence. I can feel their eyes on me.

"so.."Kri said. "so???" I asked.

"Don't play coy, spill the beans"Sasha spoke.

"I don't know guys, after that night I woke up in some different place, it was all dark. There were some other girls as well. I felt their presence. I'm not sure what place that was. Half of the time I was unconscious. Maybe that's a place of women trafficking, but somehow I managed to escape"I said.

"Hmm," Sasha replied.

"Then what you have got to say about the mark?"Kri questioned.

*Ugh, why they both have to be like this*I internally had a mental debate about how to cover up the whole ass David and the mafia stuff.

"Oh, this? I got injured while I was escaping. Actually, I already did an attempt to escape and then they hurt me. The sad thing I couldn't see their face" I replied.

"We aren't missing anything right?"Sasha looked doubtfully.

"Gosh, are you guys interrogating me? That's it and nothing much"I gave a smile.

"We believe you...for now"kri said "be ready to give the statement in the PS" she said.Hopefully, my friends didn't ask me any other questions further. Gosh, lying is hard especially this type of lie where i need to make a story that makes sense and others can believe.

"No police please, "I thought to myself. After some time we met the cops and I gave the same statement. Thankfully they believed.

We all reached the apartment, it's already Night. We went to the terrace, obviously, I need to catch up with them as well.

"Cheers" we started drinking.

"so, guys what have I missed?"I asked.

Sasha's POV:

"Bish you have missed your semester exams "I whisper yelled.

"Kudos, what an early realization"srivi mocked.

"Stop joking. What you gonna do about it?"I asked.

"will continue like that and will write both sem exams at a time" she smiled. "I can't undo what's done"she looked at the stars.

"Cheers to our next year"kri changed the atmosphere and we talked about how we missed her and everything.

"We need to do the shopping as well,"kri said.

The night went on and we fell asleep on the terrace itself.
