Ryan blinked rapidly, trying to adjust her eyes to the brightness of her new surroundings.
She was standing in a forest, only it wasn't like any forest she'd ever been in before. The trees almost sounded like they were humming and It was snowing, however it was not cold. The snow fell very slowly to the ground and every time the snow touched her face, it made her feel warm inside.
She walked a small distance, until she came across a lake with a waterfall, there she watched many wolves, who were all running and playing with each other and with them were humans as well, swimming, running and playing with the wolves. The humans were not afraid, but rather they looked happy, at peace.
Ryan did not feel afraid of the wolves either, but rather, she felt at home, she also felt at peace, like nothing on earth could hurt her.
Ryan turned around when she felt a strong presence behind her, her breath caught in her throat again, as a beautiful woman stood in front of her.
Her skin glowed as the moon did, she had long white hair, that flowed around her and seemsed to be shining brighter than normal. Her eyes, were like starlight and they seems soft, almost happy to see Ryan.
"Daughter of Grimm, I wondered when I would finally meet you"
Ryan looked at her, and frowned. "daughter of Grimm? my name is Ryan Harris, sorry lady but I think you have the wrong person here." Ryan suddenly felt out of place, like she didn't belong here. She started feeling faint, the air around her became thick, her mouth became dry and it became hard to breath.
"You are mistaken Ryan, your memory of who you are is all a lie, you are a Grimm, like your father before you and his father before him." The stranger moved closer, so gently that it seemed as though she didn't walk at all, but rather that she glided towards Ryan. "Do not allow these lies to deceive you any further Ryan, you belong here as much as the rest of my children."
"Who are you?" was all the words Ryan could get out, she was feeling more and more ill by the minute, she could feel her heart beating in her ears. "I am the one who's name you spoke, Ryan your time here is short, as you are not in your purest form, something has tainted your blood and has stopped you from revealing yourself to me, you have to leave this realm before it kills you, but know that you are destined for great things, trust in your grandfather and the world that he has left for you, we will see each other again, but for now, you must return to your world. I will watch over you, always."
With that, Selene touched Ryan's arm and transported her back to her grandfather's study.
She was curled up in the large leather chair behind the oak desk.
Ryan shivered as she wiped the droplets of sweat that formed on her brow.
Before closing the mysterious book that had taken her to another realm, she heard the soft whispers from Selene, that carried a warning. "careful who you trust, Ryan, danger lurks in the shadows"
Ryan blinked her eyes open, only to find a female standing in front of her, staring down at her. The woman looks to be a few years younger than Ryan, about 18 or 19, she had pixie short brown hair and was built fit. Her dark brown eyes flashed as Ryan started gaining more consciousness.
"I thought you were dead, you definitely looks as much."
The woman in front of her pulled a long blade from the holster hanging on her waist.
"My name is Madi, and you're breaking and entering, thief" she moved the blade to rest on Ryan's shoulder, probably to scare her or intimate her, it didn't work.
Ryan immediately reacted and moved quickly, grabbing the metal candelabra off of her grandfathers desk.
She hit the blade away and used the bottom of the candelabra to hit Madi in the chest, with a bit more strength than what she thought she had. Madi stumbled a few feet before landing with a thump on the ground, looking a little shocked.
"That was pretty impressive, for a mere human"
Ryan held the candelabra higher, in defence.
"You are the one who shouldn't be here, this is my granfathers house, so it's you who is breaking and entering."
The woman called Madi just looked up at Ryan, a smerk started to appear on her face.
Another man and woman burst through the door and took in the scene.
The man, who was about the same age as Madi, made a move to draw his blade, but Madi simply held up her hand, not once breaking eye contact with Ryan.
"That's not necessary Finn, Ryan has returned home...finally."
