The doctor waved a small version of the sensor that had passed him earlier, closer to Jonas' face and around his head. "The lead elements of the platoon ran into contact with the side of what turned out to be a second enemy battalion 'early'. The fight that followed was close and brutal. The Celestas League light infantry forces had to get close and move fast to penetrate Guardsman armor with their lighter weapons. The Guard had to withdraw under fire higher up the ridgeline to separate the two enemy battalions, and take some pressure off the defenders on the opposite side of the ridge."
