"Mom, I'm going to take the sausages out first." Diana tells her mother who is still busy skewering marinated pork meat with barbecue sticks. "Okay. I'm almost done with these. Make sure the container is closed properly so the flies don't get in." Maria reminds Diana as she picks up the big plastic container with the sausages. "Yes, Mom." She smiles as she makes her way to the door which is only a few feet away from the kitchen of their small one-bedroom apartment in a remote suburban town. It has been their home for over a month now.
