15- The Promise

She is completely out of it. She must be if she didn't hear her mother speak to her at the dinner table when she is sitting right across from her just a few feet away. She doesn't want to come down for dinner but Jacob insisted that she should join her parents so they won't have to check on her in her room where he is still hiding somewhere. If it was up to her, she would have loved to stay cuddling with him in bed or in the closet, even in the tub or behind the thick curtains. Just them together, away from everyone else. "What was that, Mom?" Diana asks, absentmindedly twiddling the fork on the vegetables on her plate. "I asked if you want something else to eat. You haven't eaten anything yet. You just keep playing with your food." Maria says. I already ate. She blushes at the thought.
