Chapter 13 : Unleashing three spell at once.

Kris didn't need to join the battle, at the later part Marie joined the fray, she alone fought with three spike winged crow, killing two of them and heavily injured the other.
Watching her Kris felt something was definitely weird. Her fighting speed or spell unleashing efficiency rate was above average. Of course she has an A rank mana core which was far superior to any other lower class mana core.
" An A-class apprentice magician shouldn't be this much overwhelming. " Kris thought inside.
Kris himself could fight against a rank one mana beast because of his mana core's unique characteristic.
What about her? Not just her in fact Thomas and Walter was also showing battle strength far above their limit. Only Anisa was an exception, she was healing them on her previous phase.
" What's going on? Along the way i've had suspicion but now it turned into confirmation. They are definitely using some kind of unique method. "
Thomas and Walter killed the other two all by themselves. They have developed an understanding between them, working together, covering each others pros and cons.
Suddenly screech sound echoed one after another. Marie and the others became alarmed and looked ahead. They saw a large number of spike winged crow was crashing toward them.
Thomas and Walter was just apprentice magician, they weren't experienced in dealing with this kind of situation. Seeing such large number of spike winged crow ahead they panicked.
Kris watched the two coldly and snickered inwardly. If the situation forces him to do so, he would undoubtedly abandon them without hesitation.
" Cowards..." Seeing the two in panic, Marie snorted coldly and shouted.
Thomas and Walter momentarily became stunned because Marie's aura had changed completely.
" Hundred wind vortex " She chanted a spell, more than hundred wind vortex appeared behind her. They kept rotating around her.
She willed as the large number of vortex shot toward the spike winged crow's.
" Even though it's a long ranged spell but its speed is incomparable. " Kris saw this and became surprised because long ranged spell would always have slower speed but Marie's Hundred wind vortex was totally different.
" Baaam baaam " Marie stretched her hand, hitting the two boys head hard.
Both Thomas and Walter jolted then cried out in pain.
" Follow me." She coldly spoke, she was telling all four of them to follow behind her. Thomas and Walters shameful bearing made her angry.
Anisa was a little timid, she was sticking with Marie all the time, not daring to stay away even a few steps.
Before moving Marie shot a glance toward Kris and nodded, it means she approved of Kris's calm demeanor.
Kris just stared at her, he couldn't care less about what she thought of him or thinks of him.
As the four of them ran forward, the spiked winged crow's were catching up to them slowly.
" Leader, we'll be caught." Thomas shouted toward Marie.
Thomas was just a D-class ice elemental magician, he didn't have any movement type spell. So it was quite hard for him keeping up with the team.
Walter was a lightning elemental mage, fast movement was his nature. Marie was an A-class wind elemental mage, she had many movement type spells in her arsenal. But at the moment, because of Anisa they couldn't use it. She was just a healer, without any fighting ability. Facing against so many spike winged crow she became a burden.
Kris was faring much better, he was keeping up with them without much difficulty. He was very experienced in this kind of matter.
While running Marie ordered Kris to stop the spike winged crows for a few breaths of time.
" Kris, keep them busy for a few moments. "
Hearing her words Kris snorted coldly, she was clearly using him as a meat shield.
But he had no choice, if he wants to earn points and win the competition he needed to do it.
Kris made a u-turn as he unleashed three spell in a row.
" Flame prison. "
" Burning arrow. "
" Blazing whirlwind. "
Flame prison was a type of entrapment spell, it created a huge wall of fire from four direction, covering a large area. Many spike winged crows got caught instantly.
Burning arrow was a mid range attack spell, which created many small palm sized arrows made of fiery flames.
One after another spike winged crow got hit. Those flames quickly engulfed their wings and large feathers, making them unable to fly. Those feathers were extremely hard, after burning for a while, the fire died down slowly. But the crow's weren't able to fly anymore. They kept crawling on the ground.
Blazing whirlwind was a type of spell which could unleash its devastation within a certain designated range. Rather than attacking one or more target specifically, it affected all things within its range.
A ten meter flame whirlwind was created, Kris willed and it started to move forward. It kept getting bigger and bigger, starting to cover the whole area within flame prison.
" Three spells at once! " Anisa looked back and exclaimed in shock.
Hearing her words Marie also turned her head, she became a little surprised. She hadn't expected him to have this much ability.
" His mana reservation will fall short at this rate. " Marie murmured watching the battle.
Thomas and Walter also became a little surprised.
" Keep her safe. " Marie suddenly ordered Thomas and Walter to keep Anisa safe as she dashed forward and moved toward the battlefield.
" This damned crows are so resilient. " Kris cursed, even after using such high end attack spell, he wasn't able to kill all of them.
Some fish escaped the net and some were still alive even after being burned like charcoal.
Kris's countenance was pale, his mana reservation was almost empty. At the moment a shadow passed by, Kris felt something weird, he wanted to retaliate but for some reason he didn't.
Kris suddenly found himself in air as he looked around only to see he was in a girls arm.
The girl was none other than Marie.
" Don't move. " She coldly stated.
Kris snickered inwardly, he wasn't a least bit thankful.
