Wave after wave of spike winged crows kept attacking the group of student fiercely as if those beasts were enticed by something.
" Leader there's no end to them. At this rate our mana reservation will run dry. "
" Should we retreat? "
The other four gave suggestion, their face was full of blood and organs after killing such large number of spike winged crow. But more kept coming toward them.
" No, keep fighting, this is the gods will. God wants us to win hahaha. " The group leader laughed like a maniac and jumped into the beast horde.
The other four student sighed helplessly, with their leader's denial they could only join the battle.
The leader was an A rank magician with Ice elemental affinity. He unleashed various type of spell at once. Many spike winged crows instantly became victim of his spell.
" Bloodline ascension. "
His spells became stronger than ever, he was only an apprentice mage like others, but his spells right now could rival even rank one spell. Such astonishing boost in power would really surprise anyone.
But his four team members wasn't surprised in the least as if it was natural.

The four of them shouted in unison as their spell power and speed increased.
The five of them kept ravaging the entire battlefield with great dominance.
Variety of spells were being used one after another. The group of five was like a tiger that had entered into a flock of sheep. Those spike winged crows were flying everywhere, almost covering the entire black sky, attacking the five student from all directions but no matter what, nothing was able to pierce through their defense.
" Leader, we are at our limit. We'll leave the rest to you. " Four of them left the battlefield sneakily.
Only one student remained, he was the group leader. He was still as vigorous as before, as if he had an unlimited mana reservation.

He threw spell one after another like he was throwing pebbles.
After more than three hour, the battle finally came to an end. More than hundred dead spike winged crows were lying on the ground motionless.
At this point the group leaders mana reservation was dry. He couldn't even stand straight as he swayed back and forth.
" Hahaha Alicia, i will definitely win. With this i'm bound to be the final winner. " The group leader laughed loudly with satisfaction.
He suddenly coughed a mouthful of blood and fell on the ground motionless.
" What happened ! " His teammates came running.
" Nothing much, just unconscious for overusing Blood ascension."
" Lets collect the beast cores. "
" Hahaha so much beast cores, leaders dream will come true. We are the victor. "
They started collecting the loot. The beast cores they had collected amounted more than one hundred.
Including their previous cores, they had one hundred and thirty seven cores total.
" Hahahahah ..." The group of student laughed and cheered loudly.
" This many beast cores will already lead us far ahead from others. "
" Yes, even if princess Alicia is formidable, her luck won't be as good as us.
Who would have thought encountering such beast tide will turn into blessing. "
The group leader woke up slowly, he was mostly healed at that point.
The first thing he asked after waking up was, how many beast core they collected.
After hearing the number he felt very glad and relieved inside.
" Replenish your mana, we can't stop even for a moment. "

They sat down and started replenishing their mana.
Within the quiet atmosphere, few footsteps could be heard. They all became alarmed and stood up.

" Who goes there? " The group leader shouted loudly, while the other members gazed solemnly.
" It's just us, no need to panic. " Kris walked infront while Marie and others followed behind.
The group leader saw that Kris was a student of the academy which lowered his vigilance.
He smiled and extended his hand forward to shake hands.
" What a coincidence, hello, i'm Van Heiden. It is a pleasure to meet you all here. As you might have already guessed we just fought an intense battle a few moments ago and now me and my team members are just taking a rest. "
Heiden spoke in one breath. He didn't want anyone to know about their mana starvation.
" Haha coincidence indeed. " Kris smiled, his smile seemed a little unusual. Heiden frowned, he felt a bad premonition.
" Hand over all of your beast cores. " Kris uttered coldly.
" What! Outrageous. How dare you say that.." Heiden erupted in anger.
" Trying to rob us, who do you think you are?" All of them became angry and shouted.
Heiden was a hot blooded youngster, if not for his mana starvation he would have already attacked Kris. But he tried to control his anger at the moment because he was in a passive situation. He couldn't use a singe spell to defend himself. Although he wasn't afraid of Kris killing him because the academy forbids magicians to fight to death among themselves, but the beasts cores he had painstakingly collected so far will be gone.
" Since you chose the hard way, don't blame me for being merciless. " Kris's lips curled up into an evil arc as he acted lightning fast.
" You are a disgrace of us all the nobles, you resorted to robbing because of your own incompetence. " Heiden growled angrily while trying to dodge Kris's attack.
Marie and the others didn't sit back either, they moved as well directly subduing the other four member.
Heiden and his group tried escaping but all in vain. Without any mana, at the moment they were just like a normal human, so how could they escape under Kris and his groups pursuit.
All of them were instantly taken down without any difficulty.
