FALLING APART

CHAPTER 9

“Jezz is my daughter. I wanted to make up to her, because of the time we were apart, because I had to move away. I gave up my daughter for my dreams. And now, I repent what I did when she was a child.”

The woman wept as she spoke in front of Zero, while they were waiting for the ordered foods.

“I understand you, but you need to let her know that you are her true mother. You should make a move to get close to her and win her heart.”

Zero replied.“

"At a very young age, you talked to me about a serious matter like that. However, I think this is my chance to give you an offer. I want you to work for me."

the woman said.

" Huh? What kind of work is that? Zero asked the woman.

" I want to know more and everything about Jezz and her habits, what she likes, food, games and here, this is a new cellphone. I bought it early this morning. I want you to give this to Jezz."

the woman said.

"Is that all? Zero ask.

' I want you to be there wherever Jezz comes and goes, assist her at her school, call me in case of an emergency. Because for now I have something to fix, I have to prepare for something before Jezz knows the truth about me." The woman said.

Zero was shaken and he couldn't react to what he heard, because he needed a part-time job. He agreed to their agreement. The agreement to monitor Jezz at all times. Zero receives a brown envelope given by the woman,containing enough money as his advance salary for the month.

" I think that is enough for now, for our next meeting. I hope you can tell me something good about Jezz. I am expecting your positive report at that time. By the way, don't tell her that I am the one who bought that cellphone. I will tell her, but not now."

the woman said, and prepared her things to leave,

"By the way Ma'am, may I know your name please?" Zero asked.

"Devine, just call me by that name," Devine said.

" OK ma'am, I will do my job. Thank you for this opportunity. This is a huge amount of cash for me to continue my studies. You are like an angel. Drop from heaven to help me."

Zero said, wearing true happiness in his face.

"My first impression of you is you are a good person, that's why I am giving this assignment to you, because I know you can do it.

Devine said , the true mother of Jezz.

" OK, see you soon." Zero replied and the woman left him at the restaurant. Because Zero was happy about the opportunity he had, he ate the food left on the table, as well as the food that Devine didn't even touch. He ate it all and said "I've only just eaten such delicious food, it would be a pity if I left it."

While Zero enjoyed the food, he didn't know that Devine was watching him from the outside. Devine understands it, because Zero is just a fifteen-year-old kid. It makes her smile about what she did at that time.

After the successful agreement between Zero and Devine, Zero goes home with a comfortable feeling because of the good news he brought home. He is excited about telling his older brother about his part-time job.

When Zero came home, he came across an unexpected moment that he had witnessed by that time. He found his father weeping in front of his sick mother, it seemed that the two were having a serious conversation.

At that moment, Zero gave up and went out of the house to give time and space to his parents. He sat outside while meditating, while waiting for his older brother to come home.
