Chapter 2: First Encounter

Damien's POV

Emptiness

Loneliness

Silence

These are the things I have known for a century now. I have been alone for as long as I can remember. There is no one to share my thoughts and my pain with. There is no one to welcome me home with a smile on her face. I can't even remember the last time I smiled. Every day the feeling of hopelessness keeps increasing taking me down with it to the depths of an endless ocean of insanity. Sometimes I just want to lose control and give in to the blood lust but then a part of me wants to wait for something as if it knows that something big is going to happen soon and after being alive for centuries now I know it's better to trust my instincts. I want someone to be there with me, someone who sees the person that I am and not as a monster.

Suddenly the air shifted and I felt an unfamiliar presence on my territory. This was not the wolves or any other animals. I lifted my nose and smelled the air, the smell of blood drifted through my nose. Definitely a mortal.

But what was a mortal doing this deep in the forest? I furrowed my brows in thought.

I made my home so deep in the forest that the mortals were never able to reach it and if they tried they ended up getting lost.

"Sir. Sir . There is a girl walking around the house. It looks as if she is hurt." My help Mr. Vasco came running.

"Don't worry Vasco she will pass by. Nobody wants to come to this old mansion for the fear of it being haunted. Just prepare the dinner for tonight."

"Yes sir"

Hmm... what is that girl doing so close to my house and why was she injured? Should I go check on her?

Why was I even thinking about her?

As I was lost in my thoughts there was a knock on my door and my head shot up. I began contemplation whether to open it or not for I already know who was behind it. The knocks became more frantic and I could smell the fear coming off of her. I could hear her heart racing wildly.

I opened the door and the next thing shocked me.
