CHAPTER TWO

1000 Words
Audrey's P.O.V I got dressed for the day, i had a lot to do but first i needed to go see my parent's attorney at the court house. So after i had my morning coffee, i stepped out and into my car. I arrived at the court house and i was told to sit and wait for Mr George, our family's attorney. My phone rang and when i saw the caller i decided to ignore it, i wasn't ready to talk to anyone right now, especially Amy Campbell. She was the only family i had now and i love how supportive she's been but right now was not the time to hear her sermon on morality. "Miss Bennett?" A young lady called. "Right here." "Mr George will see you now." she said. "Alright." I stood up and followed her to the office, the attorney was sitting at the other end of the table, i approached him and greeted; "Good morning Mr George." "Good morning Miss Bennett, I'm sorry you had to come all the way here." "It's okay, i insisted on coming. Let's just discuss why am here, you said there was a problem." Mr George sat probably and released a sigh; "Your parents made it clear that you can only gain access to your inheritance after you're married...." "What?" "And they made it clear that the man should not be Enzo Peterson." he said. I closed my eyes for a second, the last thing my father said was 'Do not choose Enzo Peterson.' So this was what he meant, i opened my eyes and looked at Mr George, i said to him; "Enzo and I are no more, we broke up long before i came home. So that is not a problem right?" "Still miss bennett, you have to present a registry of your marriage to someone else, otherwise i can't defy your parent's will." he said with a straight face. "This is not good." i muttered to myself, i needed money and resources to carry out my revenge on Enzo, how do i do that now. I left his office sad and in deep thought, my parents obviously wanted the best for me but this was going too far. As i walked absent-minded, i bumped into someone and my bag fell, i didn't bother to look at who it was or stoop to pick my bag, i just stood there. "Are you okay miss?" a deep voice asked, he was handing my bag to me. "I will be." i took the bag from him, "Thanks." i said and kept walking, i sat at the lobby and buried my face in my palm, a minute later my phone ran again, it was Amy. "Audrey, i've been calling, what's wrong?" she asked immediately i answered the phone. "It's over Amy, Enzo is going to go Scott free." i said, tears stung the back of my eyes. "What are you talking about?" she asked. "I just left the attorney's office, i can't get access to my inheritance except i get married." "Oh my, i guess it's kind of a goodthing. " Amy said. "Amy this is not a good thing, i planned my revenge on Enzo for two months and now it's about to go down the drain for something as silly as this?" "It's not silly, your parents knew what they were doing and i never supported this part you are about to take either." I knew it, again with the sermon. "Enzo must pay, he destroyed me, my heart, my self esteem, he betrayed my trust, my love, he hurt me Amy. He must pay and i will do anything to make that happen." "Except you want to marry a complete stranger, i don't see how that's happening anytime soon." Amy said, thinking about it, that might actually not be a bad idea. "I can help you." that deep voice spoke again. I hung up and turned to look at him, he was actually sitting close to me. "What?" was all i could say. "I know it's rude but you were loud enough for me to hear your conversation...I can help you, actually...we can help each other" he said it again. "How?" i asked "You need to get married to get access to your inheritance, i need to get married to gain custody of my daughter." I looked at him from his expensive Tom Ford shoes to his Armani wristwatch and bracelet to his suit from Dior Homme. This guy was obviously wealthy to be wearing the limited edition of these designers, so why didn't he use his money and connections to get custody? He was staring and smiling at me, why was he smiling? "What?" i asked. "I know what you're thinking. I am a man of principle, i might be wealthy and famous but i do not portray what the magazines and blogs paint me to be." Magazines and Blogs? who the hell is he? "Who are you?" i asked the question in my head? "You don't know me?" he asked, i raised my brows and c****d my head to the side. "My name is Mason Sullivan." he said. I frowned, trying to remember where i've heard that last name, i saw him frown and then it popped; "The owner of the mega entertainment industry? Sullivan Industries?" i asked and he chuckled, then nodded. "My name is......" "Audrey Bennett, only heir of Bennett's Empire." he said, "I'm sorry about your parents." his expression became soft. "Thank you." I said, staring at my hands. "You said you will help me?" i asked. "Yes, only if you help me in return." he studied me. "Right, you need to get married to gain custody of your daughter, i get it. So when do we get married?" "No rushing, we need to make it believable. So we will court first, go on few dates before that." "For how long?" "Just for a week." I thought for a bit before responding; "Deal."
