MASON'S P.O.V
Audrey hung up before i could say a word, i was already waiting by my car in front of the bennett's mansion. The butler ushered me in, i agreed to go in and wait for my date.
Exactly ten minutes later, Audrey walked down the stairs in a gorgeous red dress, it had an opening that revealed her long, smooth, fair legs on the left. The dress had no sleeves, it was wrapped around her neck to the back, which was exposed by the way.
'Was this the dress brian sent?' i asked within myself.
"It fits, how do i look?" Audrey asked, spinning around. Her response confirmed my question, her beautiful golden brown hair was up in a fashion bun, two curly strands falling on either sides of her face.
"You look beautiful." i said, lost in the beauty right before me.
"Thank you, shall we?" she asked, she didn't seem a bit affected by my stare or compliment. Other ladies would blush and giggle sheepishly but Audrey didn't seem to care, she was free spirited and says whatever she felt like.
As brian drove to restaurant, Audrey stared out the window lost in thoughts, she fumbled with her nails and her legs were shaking impatiently. I wanted to hold her hand but brian pulled up in front of the restaurant;
"Oh great, we're here." she said, she was about to open her door.
"Stop, it's my duty to do that."
"Why?"
"We're courting and if we want to make this look real, you have to let me be the gentleman that i am."
She looked at me for a second before saying, "Fine."
I got out of the car and turned around to get her door, i offered a hand to her and she reluctantly took it as she stepped out. I took her hand and wrapped it around my arm as we walked to the door, the doorman was shocked at the sight of us, he quickly opened the door and we went into the restaurant.
"Welcome Mr Sullivan, i am your host for tonight. Please allow me show you to your table." A young lady said, looking at audrey in a dissatisfied manner.
Audrey looked nervous and i could see it no matter how hard she tried to hide it; "I don't bite you know, you need to relax." i whispered in her ear, i inhaled and she smelled so good.
"I'm relaxed." she said
"You're a terrible liar Audrey." she looked at me and looked away immediately, we got to the vip section and sat on our table.
"Your orders sir." the young lady asked, smiling at me.
"My lady will go first, sweetheart what would you like?" i asked Audrey who had a surprise look on her face, she forced a smile when the waitress turned to look at her, she looked at the menu.
"I would like cobb salad and a steak." she said.
"And you Mr Sullivan?"
"Pad Thai, get the rioja while we wait please."
"Sure Mr Sullivan." And the waitress was gone.
"Don't tell me the red spanish wine is your favorite?" Audrey asked, she was finally ready for a conversation?.
"One of my favorites, why?" i asked.
She smiled, it was the first time i saw her smile since the day we met and it was breathtaking.
"It's my favorite wine too, i like the carignan and the tempranillo?"
The waitress came with the wine and was about to serve, i held out a hand for her to stop and move on. Then i poured the wine myself;
"What are your other favorites?" she asked after she took a sip of her wine.
"What?"
"You said 'one of your favorites', what are the others?" she asked, taking a sip again.
"The Italian wine."
"Hmmm." she said, "That is good, so back to why we are here."
"Always straight to business huh?"
"Of course, we need this to get over quickly. I'm so eager to marry you." She said just in time for the waitress to approach our table, i saw the shock on her face.
"Hold your horses gummy bear, you will have me all to yourself once we are married." i said, audrey frowned and opened her mouth to say something, i looked at the waitress and then back at her, she got the idea.
"So how many dates are supposed to have before we get married?" she asked immediately the young lady disappeared.
"Three."
"I can give you two and we get right to it."
I studied Audrey for a few seconds, she was rushing into this without asking the right questions. How desperate can she be? I thought. We started our meals as we talked;
"So tell me what i need to know about Audrey Bennett." i said
"What?"
"The purpose of our date is to get to know the basic things about ourselves, so tell me what i need to know."
"Why?"
"You don't want to look like a fool when you're asked about me right? You should be able to say a thing or two about the man you are marrying."
"You are Mason Sullivan, Owner of Sullivan Industries, divorced with a daughter...... Your daughter's name?"
I chuckled, this woman was really clueless. "Aaliyah, how old are you?" i asked
"I'm twenty three. How old are you?"
"I'm thirty." she shrugged and chewed on her steak. "Is there anything you need to know?"
She swallowed, "No, i really don't think so." She sipped her wine. "This facade should be over in six months anyway, We should have rules guiding this short union."
"You can draft yours and i'll draft mine, then we make the exchange on our next date, deal?"
"Deal."
"One more thing, you're not permitted to talk about this arrangement with anyone. Not even your guardian angel, no one, understand?"
"What's the story then?"
"We met three months ago in Canada, fell in love and got married."
She sighed, "Fine."
