“I always keep my promises. Ember. I want you to meet your daughter.” Ember turned her gaze just slightly, her eyes connecting with emerald green eyes identical to her own. Instantly tears welled up as she reached out a shaky hand to the young pup, not believing her eyes.

Olive smiled softly as the red haired woman reached out her thin hand. Instinctively Olive gently grabbed hold of her hand and brought it to her cheek, nuzzling the thin but warm hand. “Momma.” Olive stated, no question in her mind that this woman was her flesh and blood, not after seeing her reaction.

Ember stood up on shaky legs and threw her arms around her daughter. Squeezing the young one’s body to hers as she buried her face in her hair. Olive buried her own face in her mother’s chest breathing in her scent before the tears finally broke through, sobs raking her body. “Momma.” Olive kept crying out as her hands clutched the back of Ember’s clothing.

Ember did the same, her arms wrapped around her young ones neck as she sobbed out her pup’s name, something she had stopped doing after three years apart. After those three years, she only cried the name in her heart.

“My baby..” Ember finally pulled herself away from the young pup. She smiled down at the young one in her arms, taking in her wild mane of red waves, similar to her own just with less curls and a shade lighter. Her button nose, just like her own. Her child held no resemblance to her father, minus the eye color. “My beautiful baby girl.” Ember placed a soft kiss on her forehead. Her heart was finally warm and full, something she hadn’t felt in a decade.

~*~*~

Ember Gray had run from her pack in the States at 5 months pregnant only to be detained by the Royal guards of the Golden Light Pack located in France for ten years. During those ten years her light was slowly dying. She was no longer the strong lead warrior of her pack, instead she had become a soulless body. That was until Ezra, the alpha for the Golden Light pack found her. Ezra instantly felt the mate bond but Ember hadn't. Instead she quickly began to hate the arrogant Alpha.

Will Ezra be able to win Ember over? Will Ember tell him about her daughter? O more important the reason she ran?

Prologue
Ten years. Ten long excruciating years since Ember had left her small pack behind for the beautiful city of Paris. Ten years of her being locked in a cold wet cell with barren walls and small single window which allowed light to penetrate the otherwise dark and dreadful room. Ember’s once bright sapphire eyes, now a dull lifeless blue, stared up at the small rectangle window, mesmerized by the moon’s glow, allowing her to forget the arching of her thin body. The moon’s glow illuminating the woman’s figure as she laid in the middle of the cell on the cement ground, her eyes never drifting from the window. Her once fiery red hair with bouncy curls, now a matted black mess, her original hair color no longer evident. Fresh bruises layered fading ones, the black and blue marks covered her sickly pale skin. Her dress was a ragged cloth which hid her tight skin. Skin which stuck to her bones due to the years of starvation. The guards only providing enough food and water for her to survive the next day. “Little Red, Little Red, let me in…” a deep voice sang echoing in the empty cell, not even bothering for an answer as the owner of the voice opened the thick steel door. Ember did not look away from the window, to an outsider it would appear that she was not bothered but her own body betrayed her as it instantly trembled. The man drew closer, staring at her body with a glint in his dirt brown eyes. A smirk played on his chapped lips as he drew closer, his rough hands unbuckling his belt with each step. The cell door slammed shut, muffling the cries and screams. Ember long since forgotten how to plead, her begging falling on deaf ears. Only the image of a tiny infant with bright red hair filled her mind.
