Anastasia:
My phone echoed loudly in my ears, jerking me up from my sleep. I sighed and reached for the bedside table where I had dropped my phone, grabbing it and putting the alarm off.
It was freaking Monday and I had to get ready for school. I sat up on the bed and looked around my new room, my eyes taking in the view and my head processing it. I was in my mother’s new pack, I was in a new room and I would be attending a new school.
It was six thirty and the sun was slowly rising. I didn’t want to be late on my first day of school so I picked myself up from bed and got ready for the day.
I got clad in a pair of black boyfriend jeans and a blue top to match. I fluffed my curls out, picked up my school bag, and took one glance at my room before leaving.
I still had a lot of unpacking to do but I didn’t want to miss a day of school, I needed something to distract me.
I shut the door behind me and walked down the stairs, the mansion smelt of breakfast; eggs, and bacon.
As I reached the end of the stairs, I turned and met my mother by the dining table helping the staff to get the table ready. She is married to a rich Alpha.
“Hi, Ana.” She walked towards me and tries to kiss me but I resisted and she frowned.
“Have breakfast.” As she muttered, Darius the soon-to-be beta climbed down the stairs with his bag hung on his left shoulder.
“Hey Ana, how did you sleep?” His voice radiated some kind of beautiful energy.
“I slept okay, Darius. I hope you did too?” He nodded.
“Headed to school?” His lips twitched and his eyes lingered on my school bag and then at me.
“Yes.” My words kept coming in whispers.
“Come I’ll give you a ride.” As he spoke, I felt so eager to go with him, maybe because I knew that mom would force me to have breakfast and she would also want to take me to school and I didn’t need that.
“Yeah, sure. I'll go with him.” I tangled my hands together.
“Breakfast?” Her eyes brow hitched and I rolled my eyes..
“Bye, mom.” I waved and Darius followed behind me.
We walked out of the living room which looked like an entire house and then to the car park by the east side of the mansion. I would get a tour of this mansion when I’m finally settled in.
He used his key and a beep sound emitted from a silver Audi R8, a 2023 version.
“Woah!” My jaw dropped! How rich are these people?
“That’s so cool, R8?” I asked to be sure and he nodded.
“Yes.” Like a gentleman, he opened the door and I got in.
Darius was very gentle as he drove and we engaged in a conversation about cars and after a while, it died down.
We pulled up in the school parking lot, I looked over at him.
“Thank you.”
“You’re welcome. I would love to give you a tour of the school but I have something urgent to handle right now, you can find the school tour guide.” His voice was soothing, I looked at him one more time. His full dark curly hair fell to his forehead, his eyes a shade of golden brown.
“Thank you.” I grabbed my bag and immediately got out of his car and began walking into the main building of the school.
According to Darius and what I was seeing right now this school is filled with elites. I feel like I do not belong here, I mean the only reason I’m able to attend such a school is because my mother had gotten married to a billionaire Alpha who made her his Luna and me, his stepdaughter. Speaking of which, I still hadn’t met my stepbrother.
After a few minutes, I was able to navigate my way to the principal’s office and then I was able to get settled in my class.
I picked a seat at the back and waited for the class to get filled slowly. I pushed my glasses further to my eyes, my hands sweating as the class filled up with students one by one.
As I sat at the back, fingers crossed and lips in my mouth, I watched a ginger-headed boy walk up to me.
“Hi, you're new here right?” He asked and I nodded, preparing to defend myself or smile at him.
“I’m Noel, can I sit here?” He pointed at the open desk beside me and I nodded.
“Yeah.”
The class started immediately when the teacher walked in and at least it was better than sitting down in my room or trying to mingle with people in the new pack.
After a few more classes it was recess and I was starving.
I waited for the class to be almost empty before slipping out of my chair.
“Are you going to the cafeteria? We could go together.” It was the guy that had sat beside me in class. Noel I had tried to ignore him by saying nothing to him but he was persistent.
“Yeah.” I held the strap of my school bag tight and he led me to the cafeteria, we picked up our tray and waited for it to be our turn to get food.
“What is your name?” He asked, his voice a little too soft for a guy.
“I’m Anastasia,” I replied softly. There was no harm in making new friends.
It was finally my turn and I placed an order, when I was done, I waited for him to pick his so we could sit together. I knew nobody here and I didn’t want to eat alone.
We walked towards an empty table ignoring all the eyes staring at us.
I wonder why they were suddenly looking at us and mumbling some words to themselves.
I was suddenly too anxious about my environment, I no longer felt comfortable, the stare and the murmuring were too much, my legs were shaking too, and suddenly, I stumbled on someone’s outstretched leg, lost balance, and the tray of food in my hands fell to the ground, splattering everywhere and on the shoes of a random guy.
I gasped, apologizing to the Adonis of a guy whose shoes I had just ruined.
“I’m so sorry. I slipped and fell. I’ll clean your shoes.” The guy was tall and looked irritated by me. He looked like he could kill and the muttering only increased with a lot of students now gasping like my end had arrived.
“Hardin is not going to let her go, she’s in trouble.” A student at my side said,
“The head of the basketball team? He’s going to kill her. She looks like she cannot afford his shoes.” I looked at his shoes and indeed I couldn’t afford them.
I picked my napkin from my tray and began to wipe his shoes but he took a step backwards.
Still stooping to his feet, I raised my head and stared at him, his eyes were the hottest pair of blue I had ever seen, he was so tall and he looked so mean, not even my apologies could help.
My heartbeat suddenly increased not because I was scared but because my freaking heart was leaping just by being under his gaze. My wolf Rose screamed only to my hearing.
“Mate! Mate is here.” As she spoke, I gasped, his eyes darkened and he stared at me with so much hate. He knew.
“I want you to clean it with your tongue.”
“What?” I replied.
“You heard me, clean my shoes with your tongue.”
