Liam’s POV
Vik got me on a plane that night to LA after Allison called. I hate flying, especially out of Moscow. The place is a безумный дом (madhouse) every dam time. But as Vik is my brother and head of the house, I cannot refuse him. I have always been a good soldier and done as he said. I mean Блядь (f**k) I flew my only daughter half way around the world for his quest to get the child back. She was, I mean she is special. A gift from the gods was not lightly given and we needed her. So here I was in the crowded streets on LA for my niece.
I also have the gift of seeking but I can not seek of which I seek like my daughter can. I can only feel the power radiating in a certain direction. Амара (Amara) is here for certain. I can feel the pull of her. I just needed to find her sooner than later. Turning the corner to a nearby coffee shop my phone begins to ring. Блядь (f**k)! It is Vik. Can he wait longer than five minutes... I just got here and have barley begun to look for the child. Answering the phone “Привет, брат” (hello brother). “Ah so you are off the plane. I asked you to call me when you landed Liam.” He sounded calm. To which I am sure that he is not calm at all.
Viktor wanted to come for himself, but he had duties he could not change. Not yet that is. Once I found the child, I am sure he will make it a priority to fly here himself. “еще нет (not yet) Viktor. I have only just gotten here. Give me a moment. I planned on meeting Allison at a café to discuss what she has found. And to have her lead me to the child. I do however feel her.” “ты чувствуешь ее силу” (You feel her power?) but ofcourse that is what he took from that response to him. “да. (yes, I have). But I feel light. A lot of свет (light). Along with кто-то из Степановых (someone from the Stepanov’s) nearby.” “Блядь! они не могут ее иметь! она моя! Моя!” (f**k! they cannot have her! she is mine! Mine!)
The anger radiating off of his voice through the phone. I knew he was not going to like what I had to report yet but I had no choice but to tell him. If he had felt a shift in me he would send for Valentina and kill her. HE has threatened me with her a few times. I would never chance her. “Vik, I will find her before they do. They most certainly felt her power explode as well. Let me handle this okay? I will report anything I find. Give me 24 hours before contacting me. I need to focus.” I pressed to him because as things stood now, I would not be able to find her if I am distracted by him. “Отлично. Найдите ее брата. (Fine find her brother)” venom dripping from his words.
Before I could respond to thank him and reassure him there was a click from his end of the phone. I put my phone in my pocket and followed my daughters pull into the coffee shop. “Daddy!” I heard her before I saw her. She stood up with excitement radiating off of her. I smiled and walked towards her. Letting her jump into my arms and embracing her in a much needed hug. “мой маленький демон” (my little demon). I said in a hushed tone. She giggled and spoke “Daddy. No Russian here okay. You already give off a threatening vibe. I need you to blend in to stay hidden okay?” I nodded in response. She was right. The less people noticed me the easier things would be for me.
“So Allison… where is she?” I said to her as I held my hand out for her to sit acrossed from me. “she is still in the hospital. She is supposed to be discharged on Monday at some point. I know people in the hospital though that I am not on terms with so I can not go in there.” She said with a hint of rejection flashing across her face. I would get to that another time though. As much as I would love nothing more than to understand her life here I had a job to do and that had to come first. “Okay my child. Is there anything else you can tell me about her? Are you 100% sure she is the child?” she scuffs annoyed by my question… “Yes father… I am sure she is the precious gift you all have been looking for. Though I still do not understand why that thing is such a gift?” she says surely with sour taste left in her mouth.
This time I give her a questioning look. Which caused her to perk up and shift her irritated mood. “Im sorry daddy. I just do not see it. I mean I felt the awakening… but she feels just as strong as me and Uncle Viktor. So…” “the difference is she is from the gods. She has not had her gifts as long as you and yet she matches your power waves already. Give her time and she will be more than your uncle himself. Which is why we need her. She is the next head of the house and is destined to either destroy us or join us.” I spoke sternly to her. She needed to understand.
Seeing her eyes grow wide at the statement showed she understood the information. She sat there quietly for a few minutes, looking like she was questioning things and a hint of worry? As soon as I find the child, I would question my daughter. I can feel she is keeping things from me. “Allison, I need you to bring me to her. Now.” I said with seriousness. She bowed her head and pulled her wallet out of her purse and paid for the coffee and Danish’s. “Come father. I will bring you the hospital, but you will have to go in alone. Now that she has awoken, she will feel me. I can not hide my power from her like you can. I do not know how to shield myself from her.” She stood up and began walking out of the café.
I followed her to a light blue Toyota Prius. I laughed at her. “You can have any car, truck or SUV in history, and you choose a Prius…?” very Californian… “well duh daddy. It is great on gas and good for the earth. Do you not want your grandkids to have a healthy planet to grow old on?” she says. “You have been in America to long child.” I said getting into the tiny car. Pushing the seat all the way back for leg room I hear a giggle coming from the drivers side. “Do not say a word… not to me and most definitely not to your mother… do you hear me?” I said with embarrassment and resentment. “Yes daddy.” She said giggling.
We drove for a half hour until we reached PIH Health Good Samaritan Hospital. Driving up I felt her power radiating from the building. She was here for sure. There was no doubt now. I needed to make sure though. I needed to find her. I looked at my daughter and asked her what she could see. Closing her eyes I let her focus. “She is not alone. There is an older woman there a few males and a girl there with her. This seems to be the case always. One of her doctors is someone that seems to be very close to her.” She says with venom. Again I felt she was keeping something from me.
“Okay well let’s get a room at that hotel over there and wait. I let Viktor know what I found and what we were doing, and he agreed. We needed to keep our distance until she is alone. And we did for the next few days. Until Monday. She was completely alone.
