Chapter Eighteen

2139 Words
POV Liam                   “daddy, her doctor came in and told her she was going to be discharged today as long as her psychologist signs off on her. Should we stop it? She is never alone…” She said worriedly. I stood up and put on my jacket. “Calm yourself, Allison. I will be paying her a visit this morning. Do not worry. Just tell me when she is alone. I have not felt her siblings or the lady there since early this morning when her sister left.” Calm washing over me. Now was my time to meet the child since she was 4 when she was taken and hidden. We had trusted Trey. Bringing an outsider in the ranks. I told Viktor to watch his back. I felt something off of him. A pull that was different. He did not listen. He was smitten with his new friend. Giving him the responsibility of standing by protecting Emily and the child.                 Only he was wrong about trey, and he lost Emily and the child because of his poor judgment in the end. I nodded at Allison and walked out of the hotel room. Walking down the hallway to the elevator. Allison had described the hospital to me last night and what elevator to take to her floor and where her room was from there. But as I still felt her power radiating off of her I knew I would be able to find her easily.  “have a great day sir.” The doorman said to me as I exited the building. “you as well.” I responded to him. I would not be coming back to the hotel after this. I would need to follow her. I highly doubted she lived this close to the hospital.                 I waited for the lights to change so the walking sign would come on. After my first day Allison insisted, I get new clothing to blend into LA. I was sticking out like a sore thumb as she said. The only good thing was that I could wear a suit and not stick out here. This would help me once I got to the hospital. I needed to find a white coat. The plan was to speak to her as a staff member. I had been working on my vocals all weekend. I looked ahead seeing the walking sign click on and all those around me and myself began to walk a crossed the street. I was actually quite nice here. Deadly hot. Much hotter than back home but Moscow is further away from the equator, so it is cooler. I did not mind the heat though. I stopped in front of the hospital and looked up. Closing my eyes I focused and felt her pull.                 I pulled out my phone and texted Viktor. Liam                 I am going to visit the child. Once I confirm it is her I will let you know.                 I waited a moment for Vik’s response before even going into the hospital. Viktor                 Good. Take a photo of her. I want to see my child. She looked so much like Emily and my mother when she was a baby.                 I sent him an agreeing response so he would not blow up my phone after words. Once I put my phone away, I walked through the doors of the hospital and felt the strength of her pull. Almost like the hospital had been hiding the real strength of her power. f**k! The Stepanov’s must have found her first. That must be why her real power was shielded from me. I walked to the elevator Allison told me to use and hit her floor. As I rode up to her floor, I focused all my energy to feel for any of the servants of the light. Once I felt that none were there, I shifted my focus to shield my own power.                 If she truly was this commanding with her power, she will feel even the slightest change. I would need to keep my calm and reserved. I knew she would have many gifts and be stronger than all of us. She would either unite or destroy. As I finished my shield the elevator doors opened, and I felt her full power. It almost knocked me on my ass. She was already stronger than Viktor. I do not know how he would take that news. I followed the pull to her and reached her room. Her door was already open. Good I could get in without extra eyes on me. I glanced around and noticed a white jacket hanging on the back of a chair behind the empty nurses station. I walked over and grabbed it. Putting it on and walking back over to her door.                 She looked almost lost in thought. I grabbed my phone silently and snapped a photo of her quickly as she still had not noticed me standing in the doorway. Putting my phone back in my pocket I watched her for a moment longer. She truly looks like Emily. The way her energy waved around her also felt like Emily. I was certain this young woman was Амара (Amara). I needed to confirm it vocally though. I lifted my hand and began knocking on the door.  *Knock Knock Knock*                 I watched her head snap my way. Searching me? Was she assessing me already? Did Emily tell her of her past already and tell her she would one day have powers? She seemed to in tune to not have some kind of information.  “Miss. Voznesenski, I presume?” I spoke up. She shook her head at me seemingly ready to pounce at me. “You must be the crazy doctor, right? Listen I am good so just sign off for me to leave now so I can go on my way please. I need to get on with my life and I cannot do that from here. Especially when everyone here treats me like I will break at any moment.” Yup and pounce she did. She certainly had Emily’s spirit in her. Always defiant. I quickly responded to her, “Actually Miss. Voznesenski I am not the “crazy doctor”. Making sure I quote crazy doctor as she called the potential psychologist.                 I walked the rest of the way to the side of her bed. To finish my statement to her, “I just needed to ask you a couple question prior to the dr coming in. It will only take a moment. Is that alright?” she looked at me almost remorseful. Most likely feeling bad for pouncing on the wrong person. This again was from Emily. I waited a second for her cautious but persistant response. “Umm. Yeah. Okay, I guess. Let’s just get this over with please?” I restrained from a smirk for her fire. Though Emily’s betrayal hurt so much for us all she was missed. She had grown up with me. We had been from opposite worlds, but we were genuine friends. She was orphaned as a child. Her family was killed. She was old enough to know who and what she was and what I was but that did not matter to her. And as we got older, she would stop watching Vik bully me and other and begin to spit her fire spirit at him.                 That is what gained his attention to her from the beginning. I could start to feel a shift in her energy and realized she was becoming hyper focused on me, so I began my questions. “Okay so miss. Voznesenski, first question. How are you feeling as of lately?” She immediately shifted again showing a reasonable understanding.  “Well I feel much better actually. Just ready to go home.” She said.  I hated hospitals as well. I could understand that she wanted out. Allison had told me about her coma. She was under for 4 years. I also did a little digging on the fire she was in but I could not really find anything that sounded like her fire. But I have only looked around California so far. I would find the person that did this and bring them back for judgement and death. “Have you had any odd symptoms as of late?” she shook her head no. “For example, have you felt as though your mind is bigger or expanded?”  I tried to sneak into the questions. This caused her to shift. Caution all over her.                 “What kind of f*****g weird ass question is that…” she said thinking out loud. I held my composure for her. “Umm sorry. It is just an odd question. What do you mean by that?” she tried to correct her thought. I tried to change the subject as I felt the questioning caution ran all over her, “nope it is completely okay. here is another question… what are your parents’ names?”. This was a normal hospital check in question and it will give me the straight answer I needed. “Emily and Troy?” she said with her questioning thoughts. I took this to my advantage and quickly asked, “What is your birthday?” I could feel her digging into my energy more defensive, so I responded hoping to throw her again. “It is for proof you are who you are. Its hospital policy miss.”                 I can feel my own energy shift like she is pulling it out as she feels more and more for my intentions. Her focus on me shifts to behind me and that is when I feel openness and peace. Strength and protection. The person behind me felt familiar…trey. That can not be. I turned around and there was a young girl behind me by the door. She had felt like trey. Was she his? She felt of Emily also. A calming feeling washing over me. Tricking my senses. I felt my shield come down as my intentions and frustration started leaking through. “Oh good the doctor. Are you ready to release my sister yet?” the young girl said to me with a matter of a fact annoyance. She sounded like trey.                 Amara’s voice snapped me out of the stare down I was having with the young woman. “yes, he was just done Lillie. He was prepping me for the doctor. You can tell the doctor I am ready.” This time I could hear the defense rippling in her voice. Almost threatening. She was protecting the girl that called her sister. Did Emily and trey have a child together? Viktor was not going to like this. My cover was blown so I silently started walking out of the room. Stopping next to the young woman at the door when Amara started talking. “Wait. I did not catch your name. I want to make sure I give you a good word on my questionnaire I am supposed to do after I get discharged.”  I smirked at her question as we both knew that is not why she wanted my name.                 I shifted my shield out of the way and let my darkness flow. Only shielding some of my intentions as she does not need to feel them just yet. Letting my accent come out I responded with my name. “Liam”. Giving her only my name and walking out of the room. I dropped the jacket as soon as I got to the elevator and pulled out my phone as the doors shut to bring me to the lobby. As I go down, I felt a protector in the next elevator going up. The protector felt old and very strong. I knew where that person was going. They must be the one that shielded her power from the outside of the building. That young woman… she to was powerful. And she had not even awoken yet. How could trey have a gifted child? He was not like us. He was a human. He was not special.                 I dialed my brothers number and waited for his answer. “Это Амара, брат. она окружена светом и за ней наблюдает один из защитников. есть еще брат и сестра ... это Трей, и она одарена. Я пойду за ней домой сегодня вечером и буду ждать тебя.” (It is Amara, brother. she is surrounded by light and being watched over by one of the protectors. there is also a sibling...it is trey's and she to is gifted. I will follow her home tonight and wait for you.) I could feel the angered silence deafing through the phone. “Follow her home. Then come home. I want to know everything.” He said and then hung up.
