The new day dawned, filled with fresh hopes for Jungkook and the next steps for Taehyung. They were friends now, sharing laughter and precious moments. Taehyung was busy gathering intel on Jungkook’s quiet demeanor and the intricacies of his mafia business, while Jungkook found himself head over heels for Taehyung. As they worked side by side, Taehyung's phone ringing suddenly interrupted the peaceful silence. He glanced at Jungkook and said, “Hey, Jungkook, can I take this call? "It’s important.” Jungkook nodded, offering a small smile of encouragement. **On the call:** **Taehyung:** Hello, hyung! **Jin:** Hey, Taehyung. **Taehyung:** What’s up? Why did you call me? **Jin:** Actually, Namjoon's parents have their 35th wedding anniversary coming up the day after tomorrow. They want us to spend it with them. I was just checking if you could join us. **Taehyung:** Hmm, I’m really sorry, but I can’t make it. I’ve been wrapped up in an important project, you know how it is. **Jin:** I understand. But Namjoon and I will still head to Busan today, okay? **Taehyung:** Sure, but when are you leaving? **Jin:** We’ll probably head out around 2 PM. **Taehyung:** Okay, please excuse me from them… I feel guilty for not attending their anniversary. They mean a lot to me. **Jin:** Don’t worry, I’ll handle it. **Taehyung:** I’ll send you some money for a gift. Please make sure they get something special from me. **Jin:** Got it! Anyway, I need to start packing, so I’ll catch you later. Oh, and I’ll make dinner for tonight, just heat up the food when you’re ready. **Taehyung:** Sounds good, hyung. Bye, take care! .................................................... --- Taehyung ended the call, feeling a wave of sadness. This was the first time he wouldn't attend the anniversary of a couple who had always treated him like their own son. Jungkook noticed the melancholic expression on Taehyung's face and asked, “What’s wrong? Did something happen?” Taehyung sighed, glancing at the papers in front of him. “It’s Namjoon hyung's parents' anniversary. They invited me, and I can’t go this year. They’re like my second parents, and I just feel so guilty and sad about missing it.” Jungkook cleared his throat, not liking the sight of Taehyung’s sorrow. “When is the anniversary?” he asked gently. “The day after tomorrow,” Taehyung replied, his voice heavy. “Okay, how much work do you have left?” Jungkook inquired. Taehyung dramatically wiped imaginary sweat from his forehead. “I’ve finished everything except the most difficult part: the report.” Jungkook chuckled at Taehyung’s theatrics and shook his head. “You can go. I’ll finish the report for you.” “Not a chance! I did all the hard work, so I’ll write the report,” Taehyung insisted, his voice rising. Jungkook flinched slightly at the sudden outburst. “Okay, okay! I was just trying to help.” Taehyung tossed his head back with a playful sass. “No thanks, I can handle it myself!” Jungkook laughed, the sound like a soothing melody to Taehyung’s ears. A smile crept onto Taehyung’s lips, but he quickly shrugged off the feeling. “Why are you laughing, Kook?” “Sorry! I just can’t handle your sassy attitude, Taetae,” Jungkook replied, still chuckling. “But I was serious, you know,” Jungkook insisted. “I’m serious too! This is the first project I’m working on with you, and I don’t want to leave it unfinished,” Taehyung said, his tone understanding. Jungkook smiled. “Then how about we work together? We can complete the project report together. What do you say?” “Hmmm, I’ll think about it,” Taehyung said, pretending to ponder. “No thinking! We’ll make the report together. Just stay in the office late today,” Jungkook urged. “Not in the office! It’ll be uncomfortable and take too long. We can work at my house, how about that?” Taehyung suggested excitedly. “Y-Your house? I mean, are you comfortable with me coming over?” Jungkook asked, surprised. “Of course, Kook! Why wouldn’t I be? You’re my friend,” Taehyung said with a warm smile. “A-And your hyungs?” Jungkook stammered. “They’re going to Busan today,” Taehyung assured him. “Alright, then let’s work quickly so we can go together,” Taehyung said, redirecting his focus to his work. Jungkook smiled and got back to his tasks, feeling a surge of happiness that Taehyung had invited him over. ------------ --- It was around 5 PM, and the office was finally free of work. Taehyung was packing his bags when he turned to Jungkook and said, “Let’s go, Jungkook!” “Hmm,” Jungkook replied, but just then, his phone rang. “Umm, you go ahead! I have to take this call,” he said, trying to sound nonchalant. “Okay, I’ll be waiting in my car. Come quickly!” Taehyung called out as he left the office. “Hmm, okay! I’ll be there in 5 minutes,” Jungkook assured him, then picked up the call. **On the call:** “Why did you call me?” Jungkook said, his voice cold and deep, like a villain in a movie. “Boss, I have intel on Mr. X,” the man on the other end replied, equally serious. “Wow, you’re quick, Bambam,” Jungkook smirked, feeling a little evil. “Yeah, boss, you need to come to Japan next month,” Bambam said. “Okay, I’ll be there. Satisfied, Jungkook?” he said, cutting the call and heading to the parking lot. ------------------------------------- He saw Taehyung sitting in the car, waiting for him. Jungkook opened the passenger door and said, “Sorry I was late.” “It’s okay, Kook,” Taehyung smiled. Taehyung started the car, and the ride home was filled with their usual mix of random talks, laughter, and a bit of sulking. Once they reached Taehyung's house, he parked the car and opened the door for Jungkook. “Welcome, Kook,” Taehyung said with a little bow. “Thank you, Taetae,” Jungkook chuckled, feeling a bit like royalty. Taehyung handed him slippers, and they made their way inside. He dropped his bag in the living room and went to get water for both of them. “Here, take water,” Taehyung said, handing him a glass. Jungkook downed it in one go, then said, “You must be uncomfortable in those clothes. You should freshen up. I’ll give you my clothes.” “Where’s the washroom?” Jungkook asked. “Aah, this way! Come follow me,” Taehyung said, leading him to his room. The room was elegant, with a white and beige color scheme. “Your room is beautiful,” Jungkook said, genuinely impressed. “Ahh, thank you,” Taehyung replied, blushing a bit. He rummaged through his closet and handed Jungkook an oversized black t-shirt and loose black sweatpants. “Freshen up! I’ll use the other washroom. Come quickly, then we can have dinner, okay?” Taehyung said, disappearing down the hall. Jungkook nodded and changed into the comfy clothes, feeling like he was wrapped in a cloud. After a long, relaxing bath, he made his way downstairs and found Taehyung heating food in the microwave. “What are you doing?” Jungkook asked, startling Taehyung. “Oh, you scared me! I was heating food,” Taehyung replied, his heart racing. “Do you need any help?” Jungkook offered, feeling helpful. Taehyung was chopping salad when the microwave dinged. “Oh, Kook! Can you please take the food from the microwave?” “M...microwave?” Jungkook stammered. “Yeah, the microwave. What’s wrong?” Taehyung asked, looking puzzled. “Actually, I... I’m afraid of microwaves,” Jungkook admitted, looking down and fiddling with his fingers. Taehyung burst into laughter. “Aww, it’s okay, Cookie! Just sit at the dining table. I’ll bring the food.” Jungkook smiled, relieved that Taehyung found it cute instead of funny. They had dinner together, filled with silly conversations and lots of laughter. Later, as they lounged in the living room, Jungkook said, “Shall we start the work now?” “Yeah, let’s start,” Taehyung replied, pulling out his laptop. They were so engrossed in their work that they didn’t notice the time fly by. Suddenly, it was 10:30 PM. “Thank God the file is complete!” Taehyung stretched his limbs. “Yeah, thank God,” Jungkook echoed, mimicking Taehyung’s stretch and nearly falling off the couch. “I should go now,” Jungkook said, standing up wobbly. “Why?” Taehyung asked, a hint of concern in his voice. “Umm, it’s late, and work is done. You can take tomorrow off and go to Bur—” Jungkook started, but Taehyung interrupted. “Oh, thank you! But you’re not going home. Stay here! It’s late, and you don’t have your car,” Taehyung insisted. “Umm, are you sure? I mean...” Jungkook hesitated, but Taehyung was already up, wrapping the files and putting them away. “Yeah, I’m sure! Just sit here!” Taehyung said, rushing to the kitchen and returning with tequila and two glasses, along with some nuts. “Let’s drink, Kook! What do you say?” Taehyung grinned. “Yeah, why not?” Jungkook giggled, feeling the excitement. They clinked their glasses and started drinking, their conversation devolving into a series of ridiculous topics. “Did you know that if you shout into a microwave, it’s like yelling at a robot?” Jungkook slurred, his eyes wide with faux wisdom. “Really? So, if I yell ‘You’re a toaster!’ at it, does it get offended?” Taehyung laughed, nearly spilling his drink. “Exactly! And then it might toast your bread just to get back at you!” Jungkook said, nodding sagely. As the night wore on and the tequila flowed, Jungkook suddenly held Taehyung’s hand, his voice slurred but filled with determination. “TaEtAe, I wAnNa TeLL yOu SomTHIng!” “YeS, kOOk! TwEll Me!” Taehyung leaned in closer, his curiosity piqued and a teasing smile playing on his lips. “I loVe You... WIll You MArrY mE?” Jungkook declared dramatically, his eyes sparkling with mischief. “Aww, really?” Taehyung’s heart raced, his cheeks flushing as he processed Jungkook’s words. “YeSh!” Jungkook nodded vigorously, his excitement palpable. “Okay!” Taehyung replied, laughter bubbling up as he felt a rush of warmth. Jungkook clapped his hands like a child, his enthusiasm infectious. Then, without a second thought, he leaned forward, capturing Taehyung’s lips with his own. The kiss started off soft, a tender brush of lips, but quickly ignited into something much more passionate. Taehyung responded instinctively, deepening the kiss as he pressed his body against Jungkook’s. Their lips moved together in a heated rhythm, the world around them fading away. Jungkook’s hands found their way to Taehyung’s waist, pulling him closer, while Taehyung tangled his fingers in Jungkook’s hair, holding him captive. The kiss was electric, filled with a mix of urgency and desire. Jungkook’s lips were warm and inviting, while Taehyung’s were soft and insistent. As their mouths slid against each other, Jungkook felt a rush of heat coursing through him, igniting every nerve ending. He gently nipped at Taehyung’s lower lip, eliciting a soft gasp from him. Seizing the opportunity, Taehyung slipped his tongue into Jungkook’s mouth, exploring and teasing, their tongues dancing together in a passionate duel. Jungkook moaned softly, the sound sending shivers down Taehyung’s spine. He responded by deepening the kiss further, their breaths mingling as they lost themselves in the moment. Jungkook’s hands roamed Taehyung’s back, feeling the warmth of his skin through the fabric of his shirt. He pressed him down onto the floor, their bodies flush against each other, the heat between them intensifying. Taehyung gasped as Jungkook’s hands slid lower, gripping his hips, pulling him closer as if they were two pieces of a puzzle that fit perfectly together. The kiss became a whirlwind of passion, their lips molding together with a fervor that made it feel like the world around them had disappeared. Taehyung’s hands moved to Jungkook’s neck, fingers trailing down his jawline, pulling him in deeper, as if trying to merge their very souls. Every brush of their lips ignited a fire within them, and the kiss soon turned into a desperate need, a craving that neither could resist. Jungkook’s breath hitched as Taehyung began to suck on his lower lip, teasing and coaxing him, making him gasp for air. “Taehyung…” Jungkook breathed, feeling lightheaded from the intensity of the kiss. But Taehyung wasn’t done yet; he trailed hot kisses down Jungkook’s neck, leaving a path of fire in their wake. Jungkook arched his back, a low moan escaping his lips as Taehyung found a sensitive spot, sucking gently and eliciting a shudder. “God, you’re so perfect,” Taehyung murmured against his skin, his breath warm and intoxicating. Jungkook’s heart raced, and he felt himself melting under Taehyung’s touch. Finally, feeling breathless and overwhelmed, Jungkook tapped Taehyung’s shoulder, signaling for a moment to breathe. Taehyung pulled back slightly, their foreheads resting against each other, both panting heavily, eyes locked in a heated gaze. “I... I love you, Kook,” Taehyung confessed, his voice low and sincere, still hovering close enough to feel the warmth radiating from Jungkook. "Please leave me," Jungkook pleaded, his eyes filled with emotion as a tear slipped down his face. I will never, Tae said with so much emotion. They were drunk, yet their feelings were genuine, unaware that they would forget it all upon waking. With that, they fell into each other's arms, the weight of their feelings settling around them like a warm blanket. They may have been unaware of the moment they had just shared, but the connection between them was undeniable, a spark that would ignite their hearts time and time again. --- I hope you all enjoyed this chapter! 💜 Sending all my love to the ARMY!
