**JUNGKOOK (POV)** As I sat at my desk, poring over files for my upcoming meeting with Mr. Lee Jong Suk at 2:15 PM, I could feel the weight of the deal pressing down on me. If we secured this partnership, our company’s share price could skyrocket—200 times more than its original value. With high stakes and a growling stomach, I realized it was almost lunchtime I glanced at my new assistant, Taehyung, who was equally engrossed in his work. I had to admit, choosing him not only as my assistant but also as a potential partner for the future felt like a leap into the unknown. It might seem hasty to assume that he could be my one forever and accept my love, but what could I do? Love knows no boundaries, no timelines, and no rules. The way he moved through the world, with a spark in his eyes and a warmth in his smile, made my heart race with possibilities. It was as if the universe conspired to bring us together, and I couldn’t help but dream of a future where we stood side by side, navigating life’s adventures hand in hand. In that moment, I knew that choosing him was one of the best decisions I’d ever made—a decision that felt as natural as breathing, as inevitable as the stars twinkling in the night sky. “Mr. kim ,” I called, my voice steady and professional. “Yes, sir? Do you need something?” Taehyung replied, standing up from his seat, his eyes bright with determination. “I was just checking in. Have you reviewed all the files?” “Yes, sir,” he said, placing his notepad in front of me. He leaned forward, pointing out crucial points he had gleaned from the documents. As he spoke, I found myself getting lost in his enthusiasm, the way his eyes sparkled when he explained the details. (TAEHYUNG POV): “Sir, I was saying—” I called his name, but he seemed completely lost in thought. Following his gaze, I noticed he was staring at my right hand, where the stress had caused my veins to pop slightly. A smirk crept onto my face; I was making progress in my plan. I had set a dangerous trap for him, one that would not only ruin his reputation in the mafia world but also ensure he spent his life behind bars. This was my promise to myself: I would destroy Jeon Jungkook. But first, I needed to gain his trust. With a snap of my fingers, I broke his train of thought. “The points are written on the notepad, not on my hands, sir,” I said, injecting a bit of sass into my tone, a playful smirk dancing on my lips. Jungkook cleared his throat, regaining his composure. “Hmm, yeah, I’m l—listening. Good job. If you’re done, we need to get ready. We have to reach the meeting venue by 2:10 PM, and it’s already 1:10 PM. Let’s go; we’ll grab lunch on the way.” He picked up his phone and slipped on his blazer. I nodded, donning my blazer and gathering the necessary documents. I opened the door for him, watching as he strode out like the mafia boss he was. His aura exuded danger, wealth, and a darkness that sent shivers down my spine. Employees bowed as he passed, their fear palpable, but he ignored them, a king in his realm. I quickly pressed the button for the elevator reserved for the president, feeling the weight of what was to come. This was just the beginning, and I was ready to play my part in the game. ......................................................... As Taehyung and Jungkook exited the building, a sleek black Mercedes Benz glimmered in the midday sun. The driver emerged gracefully, bowing deeply to Jungkook and respectfully opening the door. But Jungkook raised a hand, halting the driver in his tracks. "Mr. Kim," he called out, a playful glint in his eye, "do you know how to drive?" "Yes, sir," Taehyung replied, a hint of surprise creeping into his voice. "Then you can take the wheel today," Jungkook said, dismissing the driver with a wave. He turned to Taehyung, mischief dancing in his gaze. "Let’s go, Mr. Kim. You’ll drive for me today." "But sir..." Taehyung began, only to be cut off by Jungkook's confident tone. "Do you have a problem with that, Mr. Kim? Remember, you’re my assistant, and obeying me is your sole job. Am I right, or am I right?" Jungkook smirked, clearly enjoying the banter. "Yes, sir," Taehyung replied, bowing slightly, all while rolling his eyes internally and cursing Jungkook’s playful authority. With a resigned sigh, Taehyung opened the back seat for Jungkook, who instead opted for the passenger seat. Taehyung couldn’t help but roll his eyes again, but he dutifully placed all the documents on the back seat before opening the front door for his boss. He offered a tight, fake smile, which made Jungkook chuckle, finding it endearing. Once inside, Taehyung fastened his seatbelt, only to notice Jungkook hadn’t done the same. "Sir, please fasten your seatbelt," he urged, concern lacing his voice. Jungkook leaned back in his seat, a teasing smile on his lips. "Mr. Kim, it’s your job to fasten my seatbelt," he replied, his tone dripping with sarcasm. "WHAT?!" Taehyung exclaimed, utterly bewildered. "Yeah, any problem?" Jungkook shot back, his smirk widening. “No,” Taehyung muttered, leaning closer to Jungkook as he reached over to fasten the seatbelt. The proximity sent a jolt through him; he could feel the warmth radiating from Jungkook’s body, and the intoxicating scent of fresh strawberries mixed with a hint of vanilla enveloped him. With a quick motion, Taehyung secured the seatbelt and leaned back, trying to steady his racing heart as he started the car. He navigated the streets toward the restaurant near the meeting venue, all the while acutely aware of Jungkook’s presence beside him, the air thick with unspoken tension and the thrill of what lay ahead. ............................................ The drive to the restaurant was enveloped in a thick silence, the tension between Taehyung and Jungkook palpable as they navigated the bustling streets. When they finally arrived, Taehyung handed the car keys to the butler, who efficiently drove the sleek Mercedes to the VIP parking lot. They entered the restaurant, the atmosphere immediately shifting to one of hushed reverence. As they stepped inside, the manager approached, bowing deeply. "Welcome, King JJK! It’s a pleasure to see you. How may I assist you today?" Jungkook nodded, his demeanor calm yet commanding. "We need a table for two in a quiet place." "Of course, sir," the manager replied with a professional smile. "Right this way, King." As they followed the manager, The way everyone referred to him as "King" was unexpected, and for a moment, Taehyung wondered if it stemmed from fear of the notorious mafia figure Jungkook was or they respected him. Shaking off the thought, he focused on the present. Once seated at a cozy table tucked away from prying eyes, the manager returned with a team of waiters and staff standing attentively behind him. "What would you like to have, King?" he asked, handing the menu to Jungkook. Jungkook casually passed the menu to Taehyung. "Mr. Kim, you select anything you want." Taehyung chuckled nervously at the level of protocol and VIP treatment surrounding them. "Um, I’ll have japchae with a strawberry shake," he said, feeling slightly overwhelmed. "Okay," the manager replied, then turned to Jungkook. "And for you, King?" "Same for me too, but I’ll have a banana shake instead of strawberry," Jungkook said with a grin. "Very well, King. Your order will be ready in ten minutes." The staff dispersed, leaving an air of anticipation in their wake. Once again, silence settled between them, but it didn’t last long. Jungkook broke the ice, leaning back in his chair with a relaxed smile. "So, Mr. Kim, what’s your guilty pleasure when it comes to movies?" Taehyung raised an eyebrow, surprised by the sudden shift in conversation. "Honestly? I love cheesy rom-coms. There’s just something about them that makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside." Jungkook laughed, his eyes sparkling with amusement. "Really? You, the stoic assistant, enjoy rom-coms? I never would have guessed!" Taehyung smirked, crossing his arms. "Hey, even a ‘stoic assistant’ has a soft side. What about you, King? What’s your guilty pleasure?" Jungkook leaned forward, a conspiratorial glint in his eyes. "I’m a sucker for animated movies. Pixar films always get me. I mean, who can resist the charm of a talking toy or a fish on a quest?" "That’s actually adorable," Taehyung said, unable to suppress his smile. "Do you have a favorite?" "Definitely ‘Up.’ The opening montage always gets me. It’s like a punch to the feels every time," Jungkook admitted, his expression turning nostalgic. Taehyung nodded in agreement. "It’s a masterpiece for sure. But I have to ask—what’s it like being called ‘King’? Does it ever get to your head?" Jungkook chuckled, shaking his head. "Honestly, it’s just a title. I prefer to think of myself as a regular guy who happens to have a few… connections." He paused, his tone turning more serious. "But I do what I can to protect those I care about. It’s not all glitz and glam." Taehyung felt a warmth spread through him at Jungkook’s sincerity. "I can see that. It’s refreshing to know there’s more to you than just the title." Just then, their orders arrived, and the conversation momentarily shifted to the delicious food before them. As they dug into their meals, the tension that had filled the car began to dissipate, replaced by laughter and easy conversation—two souls finding comfort in each other's company, even amidst the chaos of their lives. .............................................. After their lunch, Taehyung and Jungkook arrived at the meeting venue just in time. As they entered the upscale hotel, the receptionist bowed respectfully and addressed them in a professional tone. "Hello, King. Hello, sir. The meeting area is this way, please." She gestured for them to follow, leading the way as a small entourage of guards and office employees trailed behind them. Jungkook, as always, exuded a dark aura as he stepped into the luxurious meeting room, which featured a long table capable of seating 40 to 50 people. The atmosphere shifted as they entered; all the employees stood up in acknowledgment, including Mr. Lee Jungsuk, who approached Jungkook with a firm handshake. Like a king ruling his domain, Jungkook took his seat at the head of the table. As he settled in, the employees bowed their heads in deference. Jungkook gestured to Taehyung, indicating he should take a seat on the plush couch in the corner. "Note every single point of the meeting," he instructed sternly. The meeting commenced and stretched on for about two to three hours. Discussions ranged from business strategies and marketing stability to the more dubious aspects of their operations, including drug dealing and other mafia-related matters. Various individuals presented their reports, each contributing to the complex web of their dealings. As the meeting drew to a close, a round of applause erupted when Jungkook stated, "The deal is locked, Mr. Lee Jungsuk. I hope you and your team will work hard and not let me down on my decision." His professional smile carried weight, commanding respect. "Of course, Mr. Jeon. We will never prove your decision wrong, and my team will surely work hard. Thank you so much for this opportunity," Mr. Lee replied, extending his hand. Jungkook shook it with a firm gesture before exiting the meeting area alongside Taehyung. As they stepped outside, Taehyung glanced at the night sky, surprised at how quickly time had flown. "It's already night," he muttered to himself, but Jungkook caught the remark. "If you want, I can drop you home. What do you say?" Jungkook offered, his tone casual. "Ah, no thanks, sir. I have my car at the office, so it’s okay," Taehyung replied, shaking his head. "Okay then, let’s go to the office. I need to collect some files too," Jungkook said, nodding in agreement. Taehyung opened the door for Jungkook and then slid into the driver’s seat. Leaning forward, he caught Jungkook off guard. "W… what?!" Jungkook stammered, startled by the sudden closeness. "Oh, I need to fasten your seatbelt, sir," Taehyung said, a smirk playing on his lips. He was well aware of how Jungkook often watched him while he worked, stealing glances that hinted at something deeper. Taehyung was simply playing with those feelings, unaware of just how much Jungkook loved him; to him, it was all part of the job. As he reached over to fasten the seatbelt, his hand brushed against Jungkook’s crotch, causing Jungkook to flinch at the unexpected contact. "Ahh, I’m sorry, sir! It was a mistake," Taehyung said quickly, leaning back with an innocent expression. "I-it's okay," Jungkook stuttered, his cheeks flushing pink with embarrassment. He quickly turned to look out the window, trying to regain his composure. Taehyung couldn’t help but smirk as he drove the car back to the office, the playful tension lingering in the air between them. The night was just beginning, and both of them were blissfully unaware of the emotions stirring beneath the surface, waiting to be unraveled. .........................................................................
