ADALIA

" No I want you to be my son's Life partner." Mr. Calvin said.

This was a bolt out of the blue. I blinked few times, not knowing what to say.

"So, Adalia, What do you say? I already Spoke about this with your father. He said his daughter's decision is everything and doesn't want to force you."

" I'm so thankful for considering me as your daughter-in-law, but I was raised by my father and his belief is my belief too. I won't marry someone I've known for a while,

Mr. Calvin looked at me through a judging eyes.

"And have you met the person you want to marry?" Mr. Calvin asked as I stayed silent as he continued, "Well I hope you find him soon." He looked at me. "I'm sorry Dad." Adalia said breaking the silence.

"Don't apologies when you don't even feel apologetic and I kind of expected this, that you will reject this proposal, so, I'm not surprised." Dad replied as he looked at me. "Thanks Dad, for understanding. By the way what does he do?" I asked.

" Founder and managing director of Hui-seok group of corporation." He replied scrolling his phone. My jaw dropped as I asked," So I was just talking to my role model?"

" I guess so. "He laughed. I looked at him unbelievably.

UNKNOWN PERSON

I saw my father and Mr. Ader enter the house, my father walked towards his room to change. I saw Mr. Alter walking towards the meeting room in the house.

" I bought the the thing you asked for young master." Mr. Ader said as he handed me a recorder.

"A small house with the love of my life. This is the way I want to live, I'm extremely sorry if this is rude but I would like to reject your Proposal." I turned off the Audio recorder and smirked , "Adalia huh!!!"

ADALIA

I entered my studio apartment throwing Off my shoes and slumped into my bed without changing. My phone rangs. I saw the caller ID 'Mrs. Bake' I took a deep breath and answered, "Good Evening Mrs Bake." "Why didn't you accept the proposal?" She said totally ignoring what I said.

"What are you talkin-" she cut me off and said, "How long do you think you can manage the company, do you even remember you have a brother? You're always finding reasons to Keep him away from the management. What are you scheming? Do you plan on taking whole Han-Yak to yourself?!"

"Mrs Bake, my brother is still young to take Over the business and if you're not satisfied with the current CEO as a major stake holder you can address it in the board meeting. " I replied flatly.

"Are you talking business to your mother, Adalia ?"

"My mother passed away. Just because you are married with my father doesn't mean that you are my mother. I really Respect you as a well-wisher, but when it comes to business let's deal it with the business away." I replied still maintaining the tone.

"I'm not letting you get away with it Adalia" with that she cut the call.

Adalia looked at here mother's photo on the table. Next to it there was a small diary... She got off from bed and walked towards the table. She opened it, the first page was stapled with an old photo of him and Adalia together, she flipped through the pages and stopped when she saw the writing in a page, it read, "I VOW" Adalia was reminded of the day when he and she sat to write "the vows", she read out loud the first vow,"I promise to love you forever and never ever leave your side on any circumstances." She chuckled sarcastically,"Bullshit." She whispered as she closed the book .

[Time skip next day 9:30AM]

Steven entered Adalia's room with handful of bags from food stores.

"What are those ?" Adalia asked eyeing those bags.

"Since you decided not to take care of your health, as your personal assistant I have decided to become your personal nutritionist too." He gave her a wide smile! He continued, "I knew you haven't eaten your breakfast. I have bought your favourite fried chicken with Kimchi fried rice, a perfect breakfast. So, eat it before it gets old."

Adalia stood from her seat and walked towards the table. She helped him with the food and sat opposite to him. Steven was shocked to see her obey him. He expected a lots of lectures and glares from Adalia. But he was completely astonished to see her not complaining and eating the food he brought for her.

"Did you hit Your head somewhere, Adalia?" He asked frowning.

"NO, Why?" She blinked not knowing what he meant.

"Well, I kind of expected you to lecture me, like you know your favourite line, "I CAn tAke CARE of myself!! Such.

"I received a marriage proposal." Steven chocked on his food and his eyes sharpened. He eyed Adalia carefully.

"Which group Industries?" He asked softy.

"Hui-seok." Adalia replied as she took a bite of chicken.

Steven's soul left his body, he turned pale and started to sweat. He was controlling himself and asked softly,"What did you say to them?"

"I rejected of course" she said without looking at Steven.

Steven sighed in relief but insisted, "Why? They are one of the most powerful and influential people in the world and has been named the most eligible bachelor and the desirable men by many magazines. "

" How do you know?" Adalia asked finally looking at him.

" I've seen him and as a man myself I'm jelouse about his features." He replied.

" Don't Judge a book by its cover." Adalia said as she started to eat again.

"Connect! So, what did you say? How did you reject their proposal? Did you meet him in person" He Stacked the questions impatiently.

"No, I met his father. His father and my father were childhood friends and he came along with his PA to ask my hand in marriage and I said I can't marry someone I don't love. End of the story."

"Do you still love him?!!" Steven said out of nowhere.

There was dead, silence in the room, he knew he asked something he shouldn't but still wanted to know.

Steven was surprised to see her sudden confession but he wanted to see how far she can take. So he continued,"Do you want to see him again? Do you want to hear from him again? Do you want to touch him again?

Adalia closed her eyes and said, "Stop." But Steven didn't stop and continued, "Why, Adalia. I thought you were over him but your action speaks otherwise." He smirked.

Adalia opened her eyes, there was a lot of anger, hurt and helplessness in it.Steven was determined, he had to bring her out of this and he chosed the hard way. He gave her a file and said, "Open this." He walked around to turn on the TV in the room. Adalia opened the file, her eyes grew wider and tear Started to form her eyes instantly.

"Well, it's his decision, we can't save him anymore." Adalia continued as Steven Kept quiet.

"Let's clean the table and set ourselves for business, we never know what new might happen." She said as she started to clean the table.

" Are you expecting something to happen?" He asked as he raised an eyebrow.

"No, not really." She finished.
