EPISODE 5

"So, lets introduce ourselves. Hi I'm Kai." He extended his hand.

ADALIA

"Ummm." I extended my hand to shake his, but couldn't come up with any Good name.

"Why don't you name me yourself." I said leaving that head ache to him.

"Ok ..so what about crybaby?"

I was shocked to hear my nick name.

"What?CryBaBy!!"

"From the moment I saw you, you were crying"Boohooohuuu." He imitated me.

"Stop it, I don't cry that ugly." I said feeling embarrassed.

"Hahaha you should have seen yourself when you were crying. You seriously looked ugly." He said laughing.

This guy, I ignored him and turned towards window looking outside.

"So, Don't do it." He said softly.

"What?" I looked at him.

"Don't cry anymore, it hurts." He said in his deep voice.

Is this guy trying to hit on me. I looked into his eyes, it showed nothing but pure concern.

I sighed as I said,"I will not, not anymore" I smiled at the person in front me. I felt happy after a long time. Even though he was a stranger it felt good when someone did not judge at me at the first time we met but was genuinely concerned.

"You are on a business trip?" I asked.

"No, I'm on a Vacation" he said looking at me.

"Wow, It must be good to have a vacation from time to time" I smiled at him.

"Looking at you, you don't seem like you are on a vacation." He said looking straight through my eyes. I looked at him, he was quick to catch on. But what's the point he and I will never meet again after this journey. And he doesn't know about me and my family. More than that we have decided not to disclose any personal information about us. So it will not be any problem if we keep our conversation going on.

"I told you, I was thrown out of my company." I said looking down.

"What did you do wrong? You should have kneeled and begged, you are unemployed now. How are you going to make a living? It is very difficult to get jobs nowadays you know. And your family? How are you going to support them?"He stacked the questions continuously. I smiled. He sounded practical. And of course these questions come out when someone gets thrown off a company, But He doesn't know about me and my background.I decided to keep quite.

"Sorry, if it was personal. I just asked out of concern." His voice trailed off lowering his head.

"It was not my fault. It's just that my superiors wanted me to do something that was against my personal ethics, I refused and They threw me out. Simple. Anyways I was not really onto that job." I said smiling.

He looked at me confused. His eyes had a lot of questions but he was battling whether to ask or not.

"Then what do you want to do?" He asked curiously.I smiled, My eyes watered lightly.

"Ok, you don't have to answer that." He said as soon as he saw my tears. I chuckled.

"Are you meeting anyone in Busan?"I asked, changing the topic.

"Yes, I'm going to meet my grandmother."He said as he showed his bright smile. He looked so 'happy'.

"Looks like you love your grandmother very much." I smiled at him.

"Yes! She was the one who raised me when my parents were away working. She is more like a parent to me. And I'm meeting her after a long time so I'm kind of excited."

I wanted to smile like that too. I wanted to love and be loved the same way he loves his grandmother. I looked at him, He stretched his hand smiling like an i***t, probably thinking about his grandmother.

"How would It really feel like to be loved by you?"

"Uh? Did you say something?" He was staring at me.Just then I realized, I thought out loud. And, wait. what am I even thinking? No, no, no Adalia I know you were deprived of human emotions and love for a long time but that doesn't mean you can have such thoughts on a stranger. I started slapping myself.

"Hey! Stop. Why are you hurting yourself?" he asked confused as he held my hand from slapping my cheeks.

"I'm not hurting myself, I'm just controlling myself."

"Controlling from what?" He asked frowning.

“Ummmm, From crying again." I came up with my best excuse.

"If that's the case I will help you to distract you from your thoughts, so that you will not think about anything that will make you cry. I will tell you a joke. Ahmm..so what do you call a sad cup of coffee?"

I blinked, not knowing what would it be.

"its Depresso." He started laughing out loud like a lunatic.I just kept staring at him unbelievably. He looked at me and stopped laughing.

"Sorry" he said immediately.Suddenly the train slowed down. He looked through the window.

"There is no station here", he murmured.The lights inside the compartment started to flicker, giving a creepy feeling. The attendees inside the train crossed the compartment with worry filled face talking through their walkie-talkie.I stood up and looked around, almost all passengers were standing hearing the commotion.Just then we heard an announcement inside the compartment.

"Dear Passengers, we are extremely sorry to announce you all that this train will not move any further from the next station. We just received an emergency command from the headquarters that there has been some technical problem in the railway line and it has to be resolved within tonight. The train will soon stop at the next station. We request all the passengers to vacate the train at the next station and you will find station master to guide you through your journey. Let me repeat again..."

I looked at him and He signed shaking his head and smiling. How can he smile at situation like this?

"Aren't you worried?" I asked him.

"Should I be?", He asked calmly.

"Well, your destination Is Busan to meet your grandmother, wasn't it?

"Yes, it was."

"It WAS?" I asked him confused.

"Looks like God has some other plans for me" he said looking at me deeply straight through my eyes.I looked at him hypnotized. He has a beautiful eyes.

"What are you doing.... pacing out?" he snapped in front of my face.I came back to my senses.

"Uh,...Huh... w-what?" I stammered.

"The train stopped, we need to get down." He pointed at the station through the glass window.

"Oh ok." I took my phone and Purse and followed him. He looked at me up and down.

"Bag?" He asked. I sighed.

"Let's get down first, we are blocking others" I said as I pushed him towards the door. We got down the compartment and saw station master surrounded by people. As it was night train there were very less amount of people travelling through train. I stood a little far, as Kai pushed through the crowd and said,"We have to reach Busan, do we have any other train facilities to continue our journey from here?"

"Oh! I'm extremely sorry to say this but we don't have direct train facilities to provide till Busan. You will have to take a bus till next 60 kilometre you would reach Daegu. From Daegu, you can board a train to Busan. Take this form and you would be exempt from paying again"He said as he handed over a small slip. He looked over me and said,

"You can use the same for your girlfriend."

"Girl friend?" Kai asked confused. He followed station masters gaze and found me. I shrugged my shoulders.

"She is not m-" he got cut off by station master saying, "Is she not your girlfriend? Omg But I have only one slip."

"Its ok we will manage. Thank you so much" Kai said as he took the slip. He bowed 90 degrees to him and walked back towards me.

"But the buses will not run anymore, it is closed" The station master shouted behind his back.

Kai stopped dead and looked at me not knowing what to do. I raised an eyebrow, he looked cute like a lost puppy.
