EPISODE 7

Oh God my heart is beating like crazy and how can he stay so calm. I looked around the room, there was no sofa and we can't ask for an extra bedding as she thinks we are couples and the bed can accommodate only one person. The floor will get cold at night. I sighed not knowing what to do. I sat at the chair looking out of the window. Events of today flashed before my eyes. The only thing that was bugging me was my father, he is not a person who could remain silent during such situations. He must have a reason behind it. And what would that be? What will happen to Steven? Will he be continuing working as my brother's PA? Will he return back to his family? I sighed and looked at the room. My inner self questioned me."Yah! Do you think you are in a position to worry about others. Look at yourself, alone with a stranger in a motel wearing his sweats covering only half of you. You have no SIM and no change cloths not knowing where to go and what to do anymore. Worry about yourself Adalia."

I let out a deep sigh. The bathroom door opened revealing Kai with waters dropping from his hair. He stopped at the dresser took out the dryer and started drying his hair. I still couldn't believe the total scenario I'm in right now. I smiled to myself. Who would know just 1 day is enough to turn your life whole upside down.I heard him clearing his throat.

"You take the bed, I take the floor but I will take the bedcover with me because it will get cold at night. Sorry you have to sleep without a cover." He explained. I smiled and nodded. He took one pillow and his bag with him.He folded the bedcover into two and used that as a bedding. He took a hoodie from his bad and covered himself slowly drifting to sleep. I was looking at him the whole time. He remained calm and showed no stress on the sudden turn of events. He was very composed when his journey was interrupted, he brilliantly handled the situation with Aunty, on top it he took care of me without taking any advantage of the situation. The warmth in my heart slowly started to spread through my body. I smiled looking at the person sleeping in front of me. He shivered a little. I stood from my chair and opened the cupboard looking for candles. There was bunch of scented candles and a lighter at the bottom of the cupboard. I took few of those and went near him. I lowered lighting the candles and kept it near him. This would give some warmth through the cold night. I saw the peacefully sleeping face of his. He held his bag closer to him sleeping. I smiled.

"Good Night" I whispered and got on top of my bed. My eyes were heavy, I immediately drifted to sleep.

[TIMESKIP 9:00 AM]

I felt the sunshine through my closed eyes, I tried to open it but it was stuck like glue. My stomach growled loudly. I forced myself to wake up and opened my eyes slowly. I saw an unfamiliar room, my heart started to race. Yesterday nights' events came flashing before my eyes. I sighed in relief. I turned and looked around the room, Kai was not there. Is he in bathroom? I got off from bed and walked towards the bathroom door. But suddenly the main door opened startling me. I held my heart.

"You startled me." I looked him up and down he had changed his cloths. He must have showered before. "Where were you?"

"I was out asking for routes to Busan from here." He replied.

"So, when is your bus?" I asked.

"My bus is at 8:00 PM at night and yours is at 5:00 PM in the evening.” He told me smiling.

"What do you mean by my Bus?" I asked frowning.

"You are going back to Seoul right?" He asked me. I shook my head.

"Then what are you planning to do?"

I shrugged my shoulders.

"Aishhh, look at her... Yah! I-“

My stomach growled. He sighed.

"Go shower and come out soon, let's get something to eat."

"I don't have any change clothes."

"I have got a dress and a coat for you from the market near, change into these." He said handing me a bag. I took out the dress. It was a floral printed white dress covering till my knees, a coat and und- under garments?! I looked at him shocked.

"Wh-What are these?" I asked him.

"I-I thought you will need these too, you can't wear same clothes tw-twice you know. Don't misunderstand. I got help from aunty" he stammered.

"AUNTY?! you even involved her in this?" I asked shocked.

"What are you expecting me to do? How do I know your siz-" I cut him off.

"Oh God just Shut up. I can't hear anymore." I rushed into the bathroom, my face tomato red. I showered and wore what he got for me, Every clothes was a perfect fit. I stepped out of the bathroom after drying my hair. Kai looked me from top to bottom. He smiled proudly, liking his choice of clothes. He handed me some sample makeup packets.

"Put this on, it will protect your skin from sun." He said . I was surprised. He even thought these. I quickly tapped the cream in my face and checked myself in the mirror. I was too shocked to look at myself, I have never wore any dress with any prints in it. It's always been business casuals, white, black, beige and brown. But Now.I looked too different.

“You look beautiful, why do you keep staring at yourself like a ghost". He asked mockingly.

"No, it's just that I have never wore any dresses with bright colors. it's just too different and" I trailed off the dress.

"And?" He said wanting me to continue.

"I like it" I turned around to look at him. I had tears in my eyes.

"Oh, there you go crying again. I'm happy you like it. If you are ready crybaby can we go and have our breakfast downstairs?" He said laughing. We walked out of the room.

"I'm not a crybaby, it's just that I'm overwhelmed" I opposed.

"Overwhelmed? For a dress?" He asked unbelievably.

"It's my first time wearing such a dress, I have never tried on such things before." I trailed off the dress again.

We sat at a table.

"Wonder what are the things that you didn't try." He said drinking water from his glass.

Aunty came towards us smiling widely. Oh God, just looking at her made my cheeks burn. I know I look like a tomato now. Kai chuckled.

"We will have regular breakfast set aunty." He said.

Aunty nodded at him. She faced me and smiled.

"You are blessed with a good husband. Morning he came looking forme asking where he could buy dresses for you, the night must have been really hot didn't it?" She smiled widely.I looked at Kai not knowing what to say. He was avoiding my eyes drinking his water. I decided to tease him.

"Yes Aunty, I took your tips from last night, I just had him under my full control. Looks like I will be in the upper hand throughout the whole life."Aunty laughed and slapped Kai's shoulder. He spit out water from his mouth.

"Auntyyy" I looked at her cutely. "We are really tired from last night, please give us more food."

"Ouu you don't have to tell me. I have something for you two." With that she rushed inside the kitchen. Kai looked at me unbelievably. I kept smiling looking at him.

"Are you having fun??" he asked me.

"More than you could ever imagine" I said.Aunty came out with our foods, She placed grilled sandwich in front of us.

"I have added a lots of tail pieces, eat and gain some strength for tonight" she winked at us.

"Thank you aunty, you are the best" I showed my thumbs up to her. Kai sighed and shook his head in disbelief. We started to eat in silence.

"So what are you going to do till your bus?" I asked while chewing.

“Hmmm.. what to do, I just got to know I know someone here. I'll visit him, there is a river bank here, maybe I would take a stroll in the riverbank and maybe visit a karaoke as well or maybe read comics in the park." He said thinking what more he can do.

"Wow, karaoke!" I widened my eyes.

"What's wrong with your expression? Wait. Don't tell me that you have never been to a karaoke!" He said shocked.

I shook my head indicating a no.

"If you don't mind, Can I join you too?" I tried to put my best puppy face before him.

"These type of things never work on me" he said smiling. "But karaoke's are the best if we visit at evenings, but you have bus at 5 ...so, no."

"What is the point in going back to Seoul? I don't have anywhere to go there." I said lowering my eyes.

"OKaayyy. You don't have to go to Seoul, I'll respect your decision. Then where do you want to go and what do you want to do?" He asked me.

I thought about it, where exactly I want to go?

"I just want to go somewhere, where people don't recognize me and spend a few days there.I want a break. A break from all dramas, a break from 16 hours in office, a break from fake people, a break from greedy people, a break from myself. I have always lived within a circle, Just me, my father, my boyfriend and work. They were my world.From middle school I used to help father at work, mother had cancer. we needed money to support her hospital fees.

I finish school and worked part time to save money for my mother. But all treatments were useless. If I had known at least I would have spent some time with her. Mother passed away and my father was so heart broken, she was his everything. He stayed home all day drinking whole night. Money from my part-time supported us. But later he caught up with life and started a company and I used to help him. Then I met my boyfriend and he was the most beautiful soul I ever met. Knowing my family situation he decided to help us. He comes to our company after his university and helped us through work. Those two were my everything, but suddenly my father's business dropped and our relationship weren't that smooth either. We decided to break-up and my father fell ill when his company collapsed. Then I had no choice but had to take my father's place. My whole life was a commotion. I had no time to even think what I wanted to do thinking about that I'm just a high school graduate. I had no time to apply to university or even think about what I wanted to do in life. Now I'm thrown out of my own company with my father right there. I have nowhere to go. This world is a scary place, no humanity, no love, no trust, no friendship. You'll never know when and who will backstab you." I said looking down. "And you will never know just one night is enough to turn your whole life upside down." I said smiling sadly at him. A Single tear escaped from my eyes. Kai looked at me sympathetically.

"Will you come with me?" He asked in a deep voice.I looked at him shocked. Kai continued, "Will you come with me to Busan? I will show you that this world is not a scary place. I will show you all people will not backstab you. I will show you the true essence of humanity. I will show you how to love yourself."

"A-Am I not a nuisance to you?"

"I have never considered you a nuisance my wild cat." He smirked. "To be honest, I m enjoying this more that YOU could ever imagine" he whispered looking at me deeply.I blushed looking down. Wait why am I blushing. He is flirting and you are blushing.Oh Adalia what's wrong with you.

"So? Are you coming with me?" He extended his hand, palm facing upwards.I looked at him, his eyes determined. Looking at him I felt I could trust this guy, this guy will not make me cry, this guy will protect me, this guy will make me laugh at any situation and this guy will never ever leave my hands.I reached and held his hand trusting him.

"Where ever you go. I'll trust you on whoever you are and follow you till the end of this world" I whispered. He chuckled darkly.

"Don't make promises that you can't keep up my wild cat. Don't forget we are still strangers who will not disclose anything about themselves. We are just on a trip and there will be a time where we have to part our way's and when the time comes we'll do it smiling, DEAL?" He said as a small smile formed on his lips.

I looked at him. I felt there was a hidden message in what he just said. Is he saying I shouldn't trust him? Come on Adalia stop over thinking. If he is a person who takes advantage of any situation, he would have done it when we were alone in the room. I nodded and smiled at him and said,

"DEAL!!"
