Maxwell's POV:
I took a deep breath and tried to think clearly after breakfast. I had just missed a second chance for a wedding with my mate who I loved so dearly. What could possibly be the reason for putting the wedding on hold? Whatever it was, it was best known to her alone.
My father was still waiting for feedback and to be fair, I haven't gone to see him in a long time. The way he looked at me the previous night, I could tell he had missed my cooking and constant nagging. He might have messed up as a father for one time but he sure deserves another chance.
"I'll be going to see my father now L, I'll be back in the evening. I can't leave you all by yourself for a night, it's too risky." I said, trying to scan her face for any sign of disapproval or discontent.
