Chapter 9: Revelations and Resurgence

Third POV:
A betrayed and sad soul was the words to describe Lauras'. She had felt a heavy burden of betrayal when she took her last breath, she knew she had failed her parents and her pack.
But the Moon goddess had other plans for her, she knew Laura had a lot she hadn't done and was a pure soul.
Laura wondered in realms between life and death, she only wished right now was an opportunity to have done things differently, she wasn't ready to meet her parents, she had disappointed them and left her pack unprotected, they all trusted her.
As her soul wept in the realms unknown to her, she suddenly noticed a figure approaching her accompanied by a great ray of light. She was watched with curiosity and fear as the figure approached her.
The figure got relatively close to her, then eventually stopped in front of her revealing the most beautiful woman she had ever seen, the woman was clothed in very beautiful garments and adorned with precious stones, especially the crown with a crescent moon resting on her long flowing hair. Her grace, poise, and overall power she eluded weren't going unnoticed by Laura.
Laura stood speechless in awe of the beauty in front of her. She was confused about what was going on and why this figure approached her.
" Laura, my daughter, born of Alpha Lucas and Luna Claire. The born and yet chosen Luna of the Black Pearl pack, your soul grieves and can't find rest, it yearns for a Second Chance, and is not ready to move on.'' The woman said, finally speaking with a voice sounding like a wave of an ocean yet bringing warmth.
" Yes, I am Laura, Luna of the black pearl pack, but who are you?''. She asked as she gazed at the beautiful woman.
" You know who I am Precious one''. She smiled
Laura was mesmerized by the smile she had witnessed on this woman's face and she felt like she belonged to her. It finally occurred to her who she was.
" Are you the moon goddess?'' She asked with shock and uncertainty in her voice.
" Your heart is in the right place my child.'' She replied, confirming her thoughts.
Laura was beyond shock. Growing up, she had heard stories of the moon goddess, Serene.
She was a powerful goddess feared by many and respected by others. Selene was described as a seductive, peaceful, and kind goddess, as well as very secluded and timid. She has control over time, and like the moon itself, she is ever-changing. She gives us mates as she doesn't want werewolves to be alone all the time. She was whom they worshipped.
“ Moon goddess, you have bestowed upon me such great honor by showing yourself to me even when I have failed you, my pack, and my parents,’’ I said as tears rolled down my cheeks.
“ I wonder where I went wrong and why the love of my life betrayed me, revealing himself to be worse than a stranger. I had entrusted the fate and safety of my pack in his hands blindly.” I said, trying to not hate myself.
“ I know all that Laura, but there is some information you must know about aside from what you found out at the moment before your death.’’ She said, stressing out her hands and making some with them, as images and voices were heard.
“ That's perfect, finally our years of planning and hard work are paying off.” Laura heard and watched the person in question smile at the information of her death, she struggled to believe that her best friend was one of the people who killed her.
Sonia was more of a sister than a friend to her, she was the person she loved and trusted the most after her parents because she thought that she was a sister she never had. They were friends since they were cubs and she wondered why Sonia wanted her dead so much.
She watched in shock as Elder Magnus who she discovered to be Sonia's uncle gave 12 years old Sonia a mate-suppressing portion which she had put in her favorite cookies and juice, she remembered Sonia giving her these cookies for the first time and the joy she felt was beyond any she had felt before on that faithful day. These cookies and juice have become her favorite since then.
She watched in tears as Sonia kept giving her the mate-suppressing portion each time she got her something to eat.
She watched the man whom she had loved make love to his fiance who is her best friend every single time he wasn't with her. She was shattered.
She watched as the man who her father trusted so much murdered her father with the help of rogues and how her mother had died from the shock of her mate's death.
“ Why? Why did they do all these things to me? Why did they want me and my parents dead so much? What did we ever do to them?’’ She questioned with so much anger. All she wanted now was for them to pay for their betrayal and the death of her parents. She needed to know who Alex was and why they did all that to her family and pack. Who was her mate?
“ Some things I can show you but others you need to discover on your own.’’ The moon goddess told her.
“ Discover on my own? How? I am not alive anymore, remember?’’ She said as she wondered.
“ Patience child. Things are revealed in their order and time. You have a lot of work to do, so you are going back, Laura. Your pack needs you and there are things left undone, but first, do you accept this chance to change your fate?’’ The moon goddess replied
“ I do, with all my heart moon goddess.’’ She replied wanting nothing more.
“ Remember that altering the course of time comes with consequences. Are you sure you can live with them?’’ She questioned.
“ Without a second thought moon goddess,’’ Laura replied all she wanted was to get her revenge.
“ Okay then, as you wish, my child.” The moon goddess replied knowing what was ahead of Laura.
