Laura’s POV
I wasn't sure what was really going on. Could I not heal from fire, or did I have to go through the pain before healing? Just as I began to feel my entire body being consumed by his flames, something from behind pierced the fireman. His flames went out immediately, but the curtain had already started to burn, and it was spreading rapidly.
"I told you I would come for you," a familiar voice said, followed by the sudden appearance of Alex from nowhere.
"I told you invisibility wasn’t a bad idea after all," he added and walked in front of me.
The fireman's grip loosened, and I quickly released my hand and stepped back from both of them. Their sudden powers should be questioned—this was the strangest thing I had witnessed since birth.
